"Search the area! Find the valuable women of this village!" I heard a guard order out as I kept my little nephew, William (the only of my family I have left since the great blaze over a decade ago), close to me and quiet so they wouldn't notice us behind the ragged curtains, "Take at least 8 of them for his choosing."
"Eve," William whined softly, causing me to look down at him, "Are they going to take you away?"
I smiled weakly and knelt down in front of him, my hands cupping his cheeks, "They will not take you or me away. But we must alert Nadia in her bedroom. Hurry, come on."
Running to the bedroom of our wide cottage, I gently shake Nadia's shaking form that was asleep on the bed, "Nadia, wake up. We have trouble. We need to leave."

"Prince Haner, our highest of military men are at the Crescent Village 10 miles north," one of the soldiers told me on my way to see Matt, "They should be here before nightfall so the King can begin inspection on our chosen females."
I sighed, already getting fed up with this whole 'find-the-perfect-woman' ordeal that was getting out of hand, "Thanks for letting me know... Now if you excuse me, I have to see Matt in the throne room."
"Yes, your highness," he bowed before walking off.
Walking into the throne room, I could see Matt talking with fellow comrades of his army about new locations for the next oncoming women, in which a lot of them become servants by force, "Brother? Can we please stop this shit? Finding a girl in every crevice of the world is driving me insane. Just take a girl and marry her, for goodness sake."
