Whenever someone thought of Evelyn Rochester's number one enemy, the first name that came to mind was Killian Michaels. The two practically clashed on anything from fashion styles to politics. It was apparent the two practically hated each other's guts. Although, one night Evelyn's parents informed her of the arranged marriage between Killian and herself. "What do you mean 'it's for business purposes'?" She practically screamed at her parents while pacing about the room in anger. Evelyn was about to be pawned off to the Michaels' family in an arrangement to merge the two companies into one. "This is completely ridiculous. First off, you don't even ask for my permission. Second, Killian Michaels is a pompous asshole who doesn't think about anyone but himself." She stated to her parents with certainty. There was no way in hell that she was going to marry Killian, especially not without a fight.

Kevin sat in the library, twirling a pencil between his fingertips. He had been staring at the same math problem for approximately an hour with a dazed look on his face. His mind started to wander about to anything that was not related to math. Remembering that winter break was right around the corner, Kevin thought about his parents and coming home for the month. His parents were always questioning whether or not he had found a new girlfriend, especially after the dreadful break-up with Melissa. Thinking about all his past relationships, Kevin wondered what he had done wrong. It was always the girl who had left him for not being affectionate enough or never paying enough attention to her. Kevin always thought that he would be a great boyfriend but apparently not, according to his track record.

Killian raised an eyebrow at his sister, Maria, who had just finished explaining that their parents had entered into a contract to marry Killian off to one Miss Evelyn Rochester. He was sure they were joking. There was never a time in his life that he had ever inclined that he was interested in Evelyn for anything more than a brief passing on the street. Hell, not even that. Just the thought of her sent his blood boiling. She was such a pretentious, know-it-all and most days he wished he had never met her. He shook his head and looked toward his sister. "I'm sorry, explain to me again how a forced relationship between myself and Evelyn will do anything to help your business, because at this point, all I can figure is that it is a sure fire way to end my life. They can forget it." He said and slumped back against the chair he was in. He couldn't wait for his parents to get home. They were going to get a piece of his mind.
Oliver sighed and marked his place in the book he had been attempting to finish for the past three months. It was no use. There was no way he could force himself to sit through another typical love story with different names. He stood, stretched and grabbed his keys before leaving his apartment. It was too empty and cold now that his roommate had moved out. It was a bit cool outside but he didn't much care. His sweater was enough. A vibrating in his pocket brought his attention to a text from his mother asking about dinner for next week. He was not looking forward to dinner with his family. Unlike Mary Poppins, they were never very accepting of his life choices, not that he expected any different. His father was a state senator. He could still remember the look on his parents face when he came out to them. If only the press had been there at the time. That would have just wrapped everything up just so nicely. He sighed again and gave a small shake of his head.

Despite her rational arguments, the Rochester household did not want to hear about her opinions. The wedding date had already been set along with the rest of the necessary appointments. "This is completely uncalled for." She stated, practically begging for her parents to take away the curse that was Killian. Her advances were to no avail though. Her mother explained that they would be meeting Killian tonight for the first time at a local restaurant for a toast to celebrate the merging. Evelyn was expected to her on her best behavior, mocking her like a little child. Of course, she shouldn't have expected less from her parents to pawn her off as an investment strategy. Moving out of the living room, she made her way up the spiral staircase towards her bedroom to prepare for the evening. Evelyn let out a sigh, softly closing the door behind her. Growing up, she had everything she could ever want down to the sheets on her bed. Now, it seemed like the complete opposite. She moved towards her closet then started to thumb through her clothing, reaching out for the red knee-length dress.

Kevin packed up all of his belongings into his jet black backpack. He had given up on the math problem and didn't want to worry about it for another second. Math and Kevin never did get along. For now, he wanted to get something to satisfy his stomach's hunger. Kevin was sure that he had been shushed by the librarian at least several times because of the growling. Slinging the backpack over his shoulder, he readjusted the straps for a more comfortable fit before proceeding to leave. He made his way to the cafeteria hall across campus, hoping that it wasn't the lunch rush crowd. Entering inside, he found to his dismay that there was a herd of people inside, pushing and shoving to reach the food. Kevin merely shook his head in disapproval before deciding to come back later when it was more manageable.
