Lily smiled slightly after reading over the message and typed a quick reply: You mean a lot to me, too, Luke. Closing her laptop, she got up and made her way downstairs, greeting her brother at the door. "Have fun at work?" she chimed with an arched eyebrow, to which he replied with a sigh and a "I'm going to go rest." Seeing that her brother was tired, she figured she could handle dinner and she went to the kitchen to get started on it.

"What are you smiling about?" Luke's mother started the interrogation as soon as he entered the room. "I'm just... happy, I guess," he said, still smiling, his hands in his pockets. "Luke," she warned, glaring at him. She'd raised Luke all alone, of course she knew him too well to let it go. "Well, I finally asked Lily to be my girlfriend... and she said yes." His mother smiled, though it looked slightly strained. Luke knew her well, too. She obviously wasn't entirely happy about not knowing the girl.

(Sorry, my reply sucks. D: )

Lily had focused on making something simple for her and her older brother, tacos. Her parents had given her the option to move with them or stay with her brother and she chose the latter because it was already difficult enough for her to make friends; there was no reason to have to make an entirely new group of friends when she was already in high school. Still, she wished it wasn't so silent in the house and she thought about inviting friends over, but decided against it since she didn't want to disturb her brother. Once she finished the meal, she got a few tacos for herself and sat down to eat quietly.

    (No, it's fine c:)

"Will I ever get to meet the girl, or will you just spend the entire time talking through a screen?" Luke's mother turned to him, her eyebrow slightly raised. Luke sighed. "Ma, I want to see her too. But I won't pressure her, and she's not down the street or anything, so it won't be any time soon. I know you don't like it but I like Lily... A lot." Luke smiled, turning slightly red. And she likes me too.

    (I'm glad, haha!)

Once Lily finished eating, she put the rest of the tacos away for her brother for when he woke up, then she cleaned up the mess that was left over. Part of her wondered if Luke was back on yet, but she doubted it. Figuring that she could wait a bit longer, she made her way back up to her room and got back on her laptop. So he isn't back on yet, she thought upon seeing that her assumption was correct. Deciding that now was a better time than never, she put on some music and went back to her homework.

Luke grabbed his plate and walked upstairs, back to his room. He opened his laptop and stared at the reminder flashing in the corner of the screen: Assignment due in five days. He ran his finger through his air, stressed. Another flashing icon showed up on screen, making Luke smile again. Hey, Lily. Sorry, Ma was calling me downstairs.

Lily hadn't been paying much attention to her laptop at first, not until the sound of the notification disrupted the sound of the music playing on her laptop. Turning to look at it, she blinked slowly, only to grin when she was that it was a message from Luke. Quickly, she typed, It's fine. My brother got home when you had to go, anyways, so I had to cook.

I told her about us. She didn't seem to mind much, which is good. I got a bit of an interrogation, though, he typed, smiling. She asked when we would meet, and I'm kinda wondering the same thing. Not that we have to any time soon. Luke rushed to add. He wouldn't do or say anything unless Lily was comfortable.

Lily stared at the screen for a long moment, unsure of how to reply. After a few moments, she started typing. I'd love to meet, any time. The problem is being able to get to each other. After sending the message, she let out a sigh and chewed on her lip before she typed another message. Maybe I can talk my brother into taking me to meet you the next time he has a few days off from work? I mean, if it's okay.

Yeah, that's fine. I don't want to push you or anything. I don't know if I'd be too nervous or not. I mean, I'd love to see you. Maybe I could catch a train or something. You're a couple of hours away, right? Luke messaged back quickly, turning red. His heart was going crazy just thinking about seeing Lily. He wondered if she felt that strongly about him.

Lily smiled upon reading the message and was quick to type back. Yeah, I'd probably be really nervous, too, but I'd really love to see you in person. I guess I'd have to push that nervousness away, huh? But, yeah, it's a couple of hours away. She tried to contain the slight excitement with the mere thought of getting to see Luke; there wasn't a guarantee that they'd get to meet yet, after all, but she was still really hopeful.

Well, I'm sure a train ticket wouldn't be too much. It's just a matter of finding the time. Maybe next weekend, after I've gotten this stupid essay out of the way? Luke replied, happy Lily wanted to see him just as much as he wanted to see her. I'd have to convince Ma, but it'll be worth it. You're definitely worth it.

Lily felt her cheeks heat up a the last bit of his message and she couldn't keep the grin off her features. She can come, too, if it helps to convince her. After sending the message, she chewed on her lip. I'm really excited about the possibility of getting to see you, Luke.

Luke turned red at the thought of his mother coming along. What a great first impression. No, It'd be best for the both of us if it were just me. It'll be fine. And I'm excited too. If I knew it was happening so soon, I would've waited to ask you in person. Luke stopped blushing but smiled at the thought. It would've been more special. But he was way too shy to ask a question, let alone go out and see her in person. But Lily always made him a little more confident. Never mind. I'm happier now.

Lily couldn't help but to laugh quietly as she read the message. Well, I just didn't want your mother to worry. But, that's fine, either way. I'm glad you didn't wait. She smiled slightly as she sent the message, unable to help but be happy with how things had turned out so far. Who knew? They might have not even thought of seeing each other in person if it weren't for the fact that they were together now. I'm happier, too. It will be nice to see you in person.
