At one point in time a editor had messaged me but I guess it had triple messaged because she deleted two of them and now it constantly says I have two messages and I've cleared out my messages so I know I don't have any unread messages, I've cleared cache, and I generally tried to respond to any messages it might be but nothing seems to get rid of it. Any idea what I should do?

Have you checked the very last page of your messages? Sometimes there are a few messages get stuck at the back of your inbox. They'll be empty and probably say they were sent 'less than a minute ago' and if they appear, you can delete those and they should clear that up.

Aside from that, the only other suggestion I have is to log out of your account and log back in again as it seems to do something as well.

I'm experiencing a glitch with messages now, too, only it's not the messages repeating themselves, it's the newest messages being marked as new. I've opened up the latest pm i got on here and i'm still getting an alert saying that it was new and I opened it up three times to see if the alert would go away.

I think that's the lag, I've been getting that all week. I tend to find logging out / logging back in clears it, or if you're willing to have it sitting for a wee while, it tends to clear itself off after like an hour or so.

Ghost alerts typically disappear on their own after a day or so. Users have reported that logging out and back in tends to help clear them.
