Let It Roll

Rachel rolled her eyes. "Okay, dad." She teased, scrunching her nose when Jack poked her. Rachel thought briefly before speaking up. "Hawaiian, with extra pineapple and bacon." She beamed, mentioning her favorite, Jack often made fun of her favorite pizza, but Rachel didn't care. He still ate it with her. "Or any kind of pizza, I'm really hungry." Rachel spoke as her tummy rumbled again. She smiled when they pulled up at the little pizza joint. "Yay! Food!" Rachel grabbed her purse and made sure her car was locked before skipping towards the entrance of the restaurant. "Baby!" Rachel pouted. "Hurry up, I'm hungry."

Alex raised a brow, his concern still growing. "Okay," he whispered, grabbing his bookbag out of the back. Once he double checked that Clarke's car was locked, Alex began following her up the walkway. A million possibilities began running through his mind about what could possibly make Clarke so nervous. Alex waited for Clarke to open the door to follow her inside. "Clarke, you can relax... I'm pretty hard to shock. Unless you have a third arm or something, you're okay." He smiled softly.

Jack grimaced when she called him dad, shaking his head. "I don't think we can ever have sex again after that," he pouted, grabbing her hand as he followed her into the entrance of the pizza joint, shaking his head and laughing. "You know I'll get your favorite, you spoiled brat." He teased her, pressing a kiss to the tip of her nose where he had previously poked her, a smile on his face. Jack didn't care that the kind of pizza she got was kind of gross, who got pineapple with bacon on it? But, he loved her and would do anything to make sure she was happy.

Clarke smiled gently, shaking her head as a small laugh bubbled from her lips. "Well I probably am making this a bigger deal than it is. I just.. this is one of the reasons I moved here, y'know? I don't want history to repeat itself." She said softly, clearing her throat as she unlocked the door, opening it up so Alex could walk in. Setting down her backpack and kicking off her shoes, Clarke walked into the living room and smiled at the scene before her. Her dad was passed out on the couch, no doubt worn out after watching Sophia all day while she was at school. "Hey, princess. You wear grandpa out?" Clarke cooed, reaching in the play pen and picking her up, kissing her forehead.

Rachel rolled her eyes. "Please, Barakat." She spoke as they headed into the pizza joint. "I doubt you could go more than a day without trying to shove your hands down my pants." Rachel teased, playfully bumping Jack's hip. She nuzzled his neck while they waited their turn to order. "I love you, especially because you stopped making fun of me for getting Hawaiian Pizza." Rachel leaned up to give Jack a kiss. She stepped forward when it was their turn. "Hi! Can I get a large Hawaiian, extra bacon and pineapple, and a two liter of Mountain Dew?" Rachel smiled as she placed her order.

Alex's ears pricked up at the word grandpa. He put two and two together, realizing that the little baby was actually Clarke's daughter. "Guess that explains the car seat," he smiled, gently walking over to the two. "Can I hold her?" Alex asked gently, looking down at the baby. She had Clarke's eyes, and the chubbiest little cheeks you could imagine. Alex gently held out his arms, smiling when he was holding the baby. "Hey there, kiddo!" He grinned, gently bouncing her. "I'm your mommy's new friend Alex... it's nice to meet you!" Alex spoke, booping the baby on the nose.

Jack tried looking appalled but failed when he started laughing and nodding his head. "You know, you're actually right." He said with a shake of his head, chuckling as they walked up to the counter and let her finish their order, smiling softly. "You know you don't have to pay baby, I can get it." He smiled at her, but knew that if her mind was set on something then by god she was going to do it and not give a damn what other peopel said.

Clarke fidgeted nervously while Alex stood there speechless before he finally talked, breathing out a sigh of relief. So.. he wasn't upset or anything? Well, that was a good sign. Clarke was actually surprised when he asked to hold her, only managing to nod her head in response and gentle hand Sophia over. "Her names Sophia," she said softly, rubbing the back of her baby's back gently. "This big girl here turns one today, don't ya baby?" Clarke cooed, Sophia giggling and smiling all around at the attention from Alex and her mom. "Lex!" The baby squealed, reaching out with her fingers and grabbing a lock of his hair, tugging gently. A laugh bubbled from Clarke's lips, shaking her head. "Sorry, she's in this grabby stage."

Rachel rolled her eyes as she handed the girl at the counter her debit card. "Shut up, Jack. I can do what I want." She teased, leaning over to give him a kiss. The girl at the counter informed them it'd probably be a few minutes before their pizza was ready. Rachel thanked her before moving to sit at a table with Jack. "Of course I'm right. I'm always right." Rachel teased, sticking her tongue out at Jack.

Alex scrunched his face up and gently removed Sophia's hand from his hair. "Hey there, princess, hair pulling's not cool!" He kissed her cheek.Alex raised a brow at the mention of Sophia turning one. "Wow, she's one?" He spoke, running his hands through the little girl's hair. "Did you get her a cake? If not, I can run to the grocery store and grab one... everyone deserves a cake to get messy with on their birthday." Alex balanced the baby on his hip. "I know you definitely want some Cake, Soph."

Jack shook his head as he walked over to the table with Rachel, sitting down next to her and slinging his arm over her shoulder. "Well maybe if my girlfriend wasn't so damn sexy I wouldn't want to jump her bones all the time," he shot her a wink, laughing softly as he leaned back in the chair, humming lightly. He briefly wondered how the new lovebirds were doing, making a mental note to text him and bug him relentlessly about it later on.

Clarke sighed. "Yeah, it's a long story." She said with a small shrug of her shoulder, figuring she would tell him later when they had some more time and she didn't have to focus all of her attention on her daughter. Here in a few hours it would be time for bed, so if Alex could just wait until then she would tell him anything he wanted to know about the past year. "I actually made her a cake last night, it's sitting in the fridge." She nodded towards the kitchen, smiling over at Alex. "You're really good with kids," she said, a little surprised.

Rachel rolled her eyes, flipping her hair back. "Well, I can't help it. Maybe I'd be able to if my boyfriend wasn't such a perv." She playfully shoved Jack before squeezing his hand. Rachel gently got up and headed back up to the counter when they called her name, signaling her pizza was ready. She payed and grabbed the box before looking over at Jack. "Come on, baby. Let's go home."

Alex smiled softly as he looked at the baby. "Yeah, my older sister has a few kids. Her youngest is a few months older than Sophia." He spoke, adjusting the baby. "Why don't we have some birthday cake, and then play with little miss princess here?" Alex teased as he booped Sophia's nose again. He smiled when she busted out laughing, sticking his finger in her mouth. "Is she teething?" Alex spoke softly, removing his finger from Sophia's mouth.

Jack rolled his eyes. "I'm not a perv," he whined, shoving her playfully before dramatically making a scene of looking at her boobs. "Well, yeah you might be right." He said with a laugh, kissing her on the cheek as they walked up to the counter and Rachel grabbed their pizza. "Awesome, I'm starving." He said, and right on cue his stomach growled loudly. Maybe he might speed a little getting home for the sake of delicious pizza. Well, as delicious as a bacon and pineapple pizza could be.

"Sure, that sounds good." Clarke agreed, reaching over and pressing a kiss to Sophia's cheek. "My sweet little baby," she murmured, a wide grin on her face. Seeing her daughter happy, it was nice for a change. "Yeah, poor thing. If you don't want her chewing on her fingers I have some in the fridge too. I read somewhere putting them there keeps them cool and babies like that on their gums." Clarke led the way into the kitchen, reaching in and grabbing out the round cake she had worked her ass over last night.

"I'm always right, Barakat." Rachel climbed into the passenger seat before placing the pizza in her lap. The last time she had left it in the backseat, she had to stop abruptly, which caused it to slide to the floor and get ruined. There was no way she was gonna let that happen again. "Just admit it, Jackie poo." Rachel teased as they began heading towards her house. "You love Hawaiian pizza. It's the best pizza and you have no idea how you lived before you had it." She leaned over to give Jack a quick kiss when they were at a red light.

"She's absolutely fine! She's the birthday girl, she can do what she wants." Alex said gently, letting Sophia have his fingers again. He smiled when he saw the cake that Clarke had made. "Holy cow, that looks amazing! I'm starving." Alex theatrically rubbed his tummy. "Let's get little miss princess all set up here. He located Sophia's high chair before sitting her in it, taking off her little onesie. "It'll just make it easier to wash her off later." Alex laughed.

Jack snorted. "You women always think you're right," he teased her, starting the car and finally heading off to her house. Jack was ready for a night of eating junk food and watching the Home Alone movies, and maybe bug Alex about his new lady friend every once in awhile. Why? Because it was kind of fun seeing Alex get a little flustered, and mostly because he just wanted to see his best friend happy again. It was no fun when Alex was dragging his feet around and moping about how nobody wanted him. It was depressing, really. "I will never, not even on my death bed!" He said.

Clarke smiled at the scene before her, feeling a pang in her heart. "I don't want you to feel weird or anything, but I really wish you were her dad instead of her biological one, he's a real piece of work." Clarke muttered, rubbing the back of her head awkwardly. "Told him he was going to be a dad and he took off so quick I'm pretty sure he gave himself whiplash," she said with a snort, grabbing three candles from the kitchen drawers. "Who's ready to blow out candles?" She cooed, a smile lighting her face up when Sophia started getting excited.

Rachel rolled her eyes as she listened to Jack ramble. "Uh huh, sure. I'm just gonna take that as a yes." She teased as they began the drive back to Rachel's house. "Oh, I forgot to mention...." Rachel mumbled, looking over at Jack. "My parents are in Boston visiting my Aunt. They won't be back until Friday." She smirked, wiggling her eyebrows at Jack. "So feel free to walk around my house in your boxers... you know I won't say know." Rachel teased.

Alex smiled softly. "No, that's not weird." He pressed a kiss to Sophia's forehead. Anyone who could leave such a precious little one was a dick. "Screw him, it's his lost. I just met her and I think she's perfect." Alex smoothed Sophia's hair before going to light the candles. "Happy Birthday to you," Alex spoke, singing the song with Sophia. He looked at her when the song was over. "Come on, sweetie pie! Blow out the candles, like this!" He pursed his lips to demonstrate how to blow out the candles.

Jack raised his eyebrows. "Oh, really?" He smirked, biting down on his lower lip. "Screw walking around in my boxers, I think I'll opt for walking around naked." He teased her, slowing down so he could turn a corner and then continued the drive to her house. "Unless you have any complaints on my nudity?" He asked her jokingly.

Clarke just smiled at the scene before her, not wanting to bring up such a depressing subject when she was supposed to be having fun, for her daughter. So she figured that she would just let the subject die out and bring it up later when they weren't trying to throw a little mini birthday party. Watching as Alex helped her with the candles, she laughed as Sophia pursed her lips and blew, or tried to anyway, but just kind of ended up spitting on some of the cake and getting drool down her chin. "Here, let momma help. We'll all blow them out together, alright?" She smiled at Alex, pursing her lips with them as they blew the candles out, together.

Rachel laughed as they pulled up into her driveway. "I think that no matter what I say, you're gonna walk around naked. So I won't even bother." She laughed again, playfully nudging Jack in the ribs. Jack, especially when drunk, loved to walk around naked "I'd walk around naked, but I get cold." Rachel fished for her keys at the bottom of her purse before getting out of the car. She hurried up the driveway with the pizza and let herself in. Rachel set the pizza on the counter. "I'm gonna let the dog out and go change into some yogas or something." She stood up to give Jack before going to go find her dog, Muffin.

Alex smiled as Sophia clapped her hands, excited. "Now comes the fun part," He spoke, gently taking Sophia's hand and putting it in the cake. Alex laughed at the confused look on her face. "Give it awhile, you won't be able to get her to stop eating cake." He spoke as Sophia began grabbing little handfuls of cake. "I think mom did a good job." Alex spoke. "Where are your wash cloths, Clarke?" He asked, getting things ready to eventually wash the baby's face.

Jack laughed. "We could always do something else naked that'll keep you plenty warm," he said with a wink, chuckling as he followed her into the house and into the kitchen where she had set the pizza. He also grabbed some plates from the cupboards and set them down on the counter. It wasn't a fancy dinner or anything, but he was happy that he got to spend time with someone he loved. Any time spent with her was a good time no matter what they were doing, he thought happily as he grabbed some cups and the bottle of pop she had purchased along with the pizza.

Clarke laughed, dabbing her finger in the frosting that was on the cake and sticking her finger in her mouth to lick all the frosting off, licking her lips afterwards. "I did do a pretty good job, didn't I?" She said with a small smile, leaning off of the counter and grabbing a wash cloth from inside the drawer, tossing it at Alex. "Someone's enjoying mommy's cake, huh?" She asked her baby with a raised brow, laughing as Sophia grabbed a fistful of cake and shoved it in her face.

Rachel eventually showed up downstairs, wearing one of Jack's hoodies that she had snagged from his house and a pair of leggings. "Jack, I have a feeling we're going to be doing that all night. Something tells me you won't let me sleep." She teased, grabbing a couple of pieces of pizza from the box. Rachel poured herself a glass of mountain dew before sitting at the island in her kitchen. Frankie immediately took a bite of her food, moaning in satisfaction. "Holy shit, this is amazing." She whispered, taking another bite.

Alex managed to swipe some frosting as well. "You did." He beamed, watching as Sophia went to town on her cake. "You should make me a cake sometime." Alex joked, playfully bumping Clarke's hip. He gently wiped Sophia's face, freeing it of the extra frosting. "She's so cute, I can't stand it." Alex ran a hand through the baby's wispy hair. He sat at the table next to Sophia and simply watched as she ate. It was amazing what Clarke was able to do on her own, without any help from the dickhead father.

Jack smiled. "Is it bad I'm jealous of pizza being the one to make you moan?" He teased her with a playful shove in the arm, grabbing about three slices and putting them on his plate and sitting next to her. Sure it wasn't the greatest pizza in the history of pizza but damn was he hungry. And when Jack was hungry he would eat just about anything you put in front of him, even if it was this nasty pineapple infused pizza. Grabbing his first slice, he took a bite out of it.

A blush appeared on her cheeks, smiling. "I'm glad she looks a lot more like me than him, I'll admit that." She said softly, watching as Sophia continued munching on her cake and only pausing to swallow it and make cute little baby noises every once in awhile that just made Clarke fall more and more in love with her daughter. Digging her finger in the frosting, she was going to eat it but instead an idea popped into her brain. Smirking evily, she leaned over and swiped it on Alex's nose, laughing. "You got a little something there,"

Rachel rolled her eyes. "Like I said, Barakat. " She spoke, sipping her pop. "You're a gigantic perv." Rachel continued to eat, sneaking peeks at Jack as she did so. She still couldn't believe how lucky she was to have a boyfriend as amazing as him. Even though he pissed her off a lot, he still made her laughed and loved to cuddle. "But I still love you, so I guess I'll keep you around." Rachel teased. She took another bite out of her pizza. "Wow, for a food you claim to hate so much, you certainly grabbed a lot of pizzas."

Alex scrunched his face up when Clarke put frosting on his nose. "Come on, that's not cool!" He pouted, swiping some frosting on her nose. "Mommy's mean, Soph. She put frosting on my face." Alex pouted, making the baby laugh. If you'd have told him that this would be happening when he had woken up this morning, he'd have said you were crazy. "I can't imagine why you'd be nervous to tell me about this little princess."

Jack rolled his eyes. "I may be a perv, but you're with me. So doesn't that make you just as much of a perv as I?" He asked her, snickering as he finished off his first slice already. "Hey, just because this pizza sucks ass doesn't mean I won't eat it if hungry enough. It sure as hell beats the school lunch, though," he decided not to think about that one and soon began digging into his second slice already. Jack was just an all around hungry boy, his mom always having to fix extra servings because he would eat it all.

"Hey!" She said with laughter. "Don't you dare try and turn my own child against me," she warned with a small smile, turning her head just in time to see Sophia's eyes fluttering open and closed, almost landing face first in the cake. "I'll tell you what, if you help me clean her face off and get her into bed I'll tell you anything you want to know." She bargained, mostly because it would be so nice to actually have someone there to help her during the clean up process which was always such a chore.

Rachel shook her head. "Um, not at all. Because I don't try to stick my hand in your pants while your driving." She spoke, looking pointedly at Jack before smiling and giving him a huge kiss. "But I still love you, so shut up and eat your favorite pizza." Rachel finished her first slice and decided to put the second one back, not really feeling all that hungry anymore. She knew that after she went to sleep, Jack would end up eating any of the pizza that was left. Rachel loved her little hungry boy.

Alex nodded his head. "Sure," he whispered, gently getting Sophia out of her high chair. "Princess, I think you got more cake on you than in you." He teased, kissing the baby's head. "Lead me to the bathroom, mama bear." Alex spoke, wiping Sophia's face with the wash cloth. He followed Clarke to the bathroom. "I can start her bath if you go grab some jammies and a diaper....And then we can talk and unpack." Alex grinned, placing Sophia's tub seat in the bathtub.
