    "Mumma?"

Rose gently opened one eye to see Wyatt standing in front of her, clad in his Spiderman pajamas and clutching his blanket. He looked miserable. "What is it, bub?" She spoke tiredly. Rose leaned over to gently pluck Wyatt off the ground and into her lap. The little boy instantly curled up close to his mother. "Does your tummy hurt, baby?" She asked, bending down to kiss Wyatt's forehead. Rose did have to admit that he was a little warm. Wyatt meekly nodded his head, coughing. Rose frowned and smoothed her son's hair. "You stay here, snuggle with daddy," She looked over at Jack, who was sleeping like a rock and snoring so loud you'd think it was a thunderstorm. "Momma's gonna take your temperature and then grab you some juice." Rose bent down to give Wyatt a little kiss before padding across the hall to the bathroom. She flicked on the light before grabbing the little thermometer that you could put to a temple. They invested in it when Wyatt was about six months old-- he freaked out whenever you brought a regular thermometer near him. Rose shuffled back to the bedroom and put the thermometer to Wyatt's forehead, frowning when his temperature read 100 degrees. "Awe, man! You got a fever, buddy!" Rose pouted and rubbed Wyatt's back. "Stay there and mommy's gonna bring you some juice." She took one last look at her boys before leaving the room and padding downstairs, careful to not trip over any of Wyatt's toys.

Once Rose reached the kitchen, she padded over to the fridge and opened the doors, scanning for Wyatt's favorite juice. She quickly grabbed the apple juice and one of Wyatt's Olaf sippy cups, pouring him some juice. Rose put the jug of juice back and grabbed the sippy cup, heading back up the stairs. "One sippy cup for mommy's little gigglepants." She made sure Wyatt was sitting up before handing him his cup. "Drink slow, bubby. No need for more of a tummy ache."

The only think Wyatt didn't change in Jack was his sleeping habits. If it was his turn to change a diaper, he would have Rose wake him up. His snoring was far too loud for him to be a light sleeper, as Rose pointed out on different occasion, but this morning he kept waking up every hour or so to check on him. He felt as if something was wrong. When he texted Alex, he made fun of the guitarist and said it was just Jack's "motherly instincts" kicking in and he probably was sick or his teeth were coming in. Jack made sure to take Wyatt's comforter off him and just have the other lighter blanket on him. He was worried if he got a fever that he'd dehydrate from sweating so much. After checking on Wyatt, he walked into a kitchen, grabbed a quick glass of water, then he set up the coffee maker for Rose in the morning before going back to bed.

After sleeping the longest he had slept all night, a whopping three hours, he felt the little arms of his kid wrap around him. Jack opened one eye and pretended to be scared. "Ah! A monster's in my bed! Where's mommy to protect me?!" He raised his voice some, just for effect. It caused the little boy to chuckle but he knew something wasn't right. "You sick little man?" he asked, the toddler nodding his head before laying next to him. Jack could feel just by his head on his chest that he was running a fever, and saw Rose pop back into the room with his sippy cup. Jack sat him up on top of his lap so Wyatt could drink his juice. He leaned up his head at Rose to receive a soft kiss. "Mama, our little monkey is sick." He said, stating the obvious. "That's what you get for trying to arrange the marriage of him and Adrienne." He said shaking his head at his gorgeous soon-to-be wife, looking down at Wyatt and whispering really loud. "I told you girls had cooties." He said, causing Wyatt to giggle a bit.

Rose leaned down to kiss Jack before climbing back into bed. "I know, Daddy." She pouted, running a hand through Wyatt's unruly hair. She rolled her eyes and laughed. "Don't fill our son's head up with lies, Barakat." Rose teased, playfully shoving Jack's shoulder. "Mommy's a girl, and mommy doesn't have cooties." She kissed Wyatt's forehead, a soft smile on her face. Even when he was sick, he was still the cutest damn thing that Rose had ever seen. She still remembered the day that Wyatt was born, as clear as if it was last week instead of almost two years ago. Rose and Jack had been sitting in their living room, playing Mario Kart. Jack had thrown a blue shell at Rose. Due to her hormones, she flipped the fuck out. After about two or so minutes of yelling at Jack, her water broke. At first, Rose thought she peed her pants-- again. She and Jack quickly realized what happened and they rushed to the hospital. After twenty hours of labor and an hour or so of pushing, Wyatt Samuel Barakat came into the world at 4:25 am, weighing nine pounds and eight ounces.

"Mommy loves you, ya little booger." Rose whispered, booping Wyatt on the nose before turning on the tv. She scanned through the recorded shows before coming up with Mickey Mouse Club House-- Wyatt's favorite show. Even though Rose had seen it more than fifty fucking times, she still loved watching it with her boy. It was their special bonding time. "Mickey!" Wyatt gasped, beginning to bounce up and down to the theme song.

"Don't listen to mommy, Wyatt, she definitely has cooties." Jack smirked, winking at the mother of his child before messing with Wyatt's hair. Before Wyatt, he never thought he'd be what people considered a family man. He always warned Rose about that, causing her to leave when she learned about Wyatt. He didn't think he had it in him to love another human being more than life. Rose was always the first thing, music following in for a very close second. It wasn't like he was unloved as a kid, everyone knew Joyce and Bassam's love for him, he just never thought he could compare to what his parents offered him. Until the baby, weighing 9lbs and 8 oz, was handed to him right after the birth to give to Rose. He remembered staring into the eyes of Wyatt and wanting to faint. He knew then that he would be the family man he'd always dreamed he'd never be.

With all this family thinking, he looked over at Rose and smiled. He rested his head on hers, as Wyatt focused on Mickey. "Hey old lady." He started, smiling softly, playing with the ring on her finger, remembering the day he had proposed to her. Only a couple of days after finding out about Wyatt. Most people thought it was because she was pregnant, but it was because he found out what it was like to not have her, and he never wanted to live like that again. "I love you." He whispered as he kissed her nose. "You're also the best mom in the world." he said, kissing her lips softly before Wyatt looked up and said "ewwww" as Jack pulled him into his chest and started wrestling him. "I don't care if you're sick or not, boy! I'll tickle you till you pee!" he said before tickling him.

Rose shook her head and laughed as she watched her husband and son interact. Her heart melted when she heard her son erupt into a fit of giggles. She always loved watching Jack and Wyatt hang out-- he was a daddy's boy, that was for sure. "Hey, if he pees on you don't say I didn't warn you!" Rose laughed, leaning over to give Jack a gentle kiss on the temple. She looked down at the ring on her finger and smiled, still hardly believing her luck. "So, Wyatt, your birthday's coming up soon. What kind of party do you want?" While she waited for her son's response, Rose thought back to Wyatt's first birthday party--right in the backyard of Jack and Rose's new home.

It was a small party, only family and friends. A bounce house was set up for the bigger kids, and the cake was almost as big as Wyatt. "Frozen, mama!' Wyatt spoke, mentioning his favorite movie. Rose smiled and nodded, bending down to kiss Wyatt's forehead. "Then mommy's little angel can have a Frozen themed party. Let me guess- Olaf, right?" She grinned.
