Felix was tired. But that really wasn't all that unusual for him since he had a bad habit of staying up too late on work nights, and starting at six thirty in the morning was much too early for him. He personally thought it should be too early for anyone honestly, but even bright and early in the morning the cafe he worked in saw quite a few people through the doors. Each morning was pretty much the same, get up and get ready for work, get there early enough to help set out all of the pastries in their proper places behind the glass display section of the counter and then take his place at the register to take orders. And that was where he was now, still close to half-asleep and already busy talking to people he saw everyday or might never see again. The opossum actually was probably at least familiar with half or so of the crowd that came in, enough to know their name and order usually, and was more than glad that they were almost all as friendly as ever even if he probably looked ready to doze off or possibly missed a letter when writing their name into their respective cup.

And on the contrary, Felix had earned himself quite a few tips in the time that he'd been working here. And then of course he always tipped himself too, in the form of coffee when he got to go on break to help wake up (which worked quite well) and because how was he expected to work at a coffee place and not get a couple free drinks here and there? The opossum wasn't breaking any rules by doing so which was even better, most everyone took a coffee during their break and the ones who didn't took tea. Taking the opportunity to glance up at the clock when there was a lull in the line of people, he saw that he'd already been working for about an hour and a half which meant he was much closer to his break than he thought. In the little bit of excitement he perked up some, talking just a little bit more and taking care not to forget any letters to anyone's name or spell anything horribly wrong.

Mikey, like any college kid was sure to, was pretty familiar with bookstores or libraries. Generally libraries since they were free and he could still take most of the books home with him to look at and they usually had all the books he wanted. But when he couldn't, stores would usually have what he needed or something similar enough and possibly more interesting to read. Plus, they were good for getting out of the same old routine and getting to go someplace new, even if he usually went to the same bookstore every time. How could he not though? The closest (and possibly his favorite) one was right by where he lived, walking distance even, and honestly the deer didn't tend to stray all too much from the area he was used to and knew. And especially not if he was by himself. Mikey didn't protest though when a few people wanted to take him someplace new.

Today however he was by himself and in need of a book since he was out of reference material for the essay he was thankfully almost finished with. There was always the option of omitting the last couple book sources, but since he wasn't entirely too confident in what he had written and wanted to at least try to include everything he was supposed to, the deer headed to the bookstore. He was there within ten minutes, and set right to the task of first finding the section that he was looking for. It never was too very hard since it wasn't the hugest bookstore in the world, and because it was usually not the busiest when he would come in (he'd been by and seen it pretty full more than a few times) so it wasn't hard at all to get help if he needed. Which only helped this place keep it's place as favorite.
