Cameron walked into the office she worked at with her coffee in one hand, her camera hanging around her neck, a stack of folders in her arm, and a bag hanging off her shoulder. Which was a pretty normal morning for her honestly. She wouldn't make it without her coffee, she always had something that needed to be dropped off as soon as she walked through the doors to someone, usually her father, and well she went no where without her camera. Of course given part of her job description was part time photographer she liked to have her camera somewhere she could access it easily if she needed to, then there was the bag. Honestly though what girl anywhere didn't go everywhere without some kind of bag to keep their necessities in? "So d'you hear about the new guy your dad hired?" Janet asked as she took the stack of folders out of Cameron's arms. "Yea. He might've mentioned something about some new guy from Connecticut at dinner the other day. I think the kid graduated from Yale or something like that."
Jess looked at the application in front of him one more time before making his final decision and giving Riley Smith a call. The bookstore was opening in less than a week, and he did need a few more people to work with him. Plus from what he could tell from her application she was young but had a lot to offer and that's what made him pick her. "Hello Riley it's Jess Mariano from the bookstore. And I was just calling in regards to your application. So if you could just give me a call back at this number at your earliest convenience that'd be fantastic." Personally Jess didn't want to tell the girl she'd been hired via voicemail, so he figured he might as well look through some of the other applications and find the other two people he needed to hire while he waited for her to call him back.

Logan walked besides the boss as he gave him the tour of the office, he was surprisingly cool as a cucumber, after all he had been working towards a job like this for some time and he wasn't really the type to get nervous anyway. He was glad to have left Connecticut and everything in it behind, it was time to start his life up for real. "So I told you my daughter works here, right?" Mr. Jenkins grinned like the proud father he clearly was. "Yes sir, she sounds like a remarkable woman, I look forward to working with her," he said, looking around at his surroundings as he spoke. "Indeed. In fact, here she is," he announced motioning behind him where a beautiful woman with medium-length wavy brown hair stood. "Cameron, come over and meet your new co-worker!"

    xx

Riley groaned and almost fell out of bed as her phone went off, pulling the pillow over her head until it went to voicemail. After a couple minutes of trying and failing to fall back asleep she rubbed the sleepy's out of her eyes and sat up, reaching beside her and taking a long sip from her bottle of water before picking up her phone and opening it to voicemail. As she pressed the phone against her ear and listened she instantly sat up straighter, and almost squealed. It was the bookstore she had applied to the week prior. A small place that was just being started up by a younger guy, but which seemed very promising. She wanted the job more then anything. She called back right away and waited for him to pick up. "Hi, Mr. Mariano? I just received a voicemail about my application," she said in her cheeriest voice, one which made her almost want to vomit it was so perky.

"Look's like you're up," Janet said laughing softly before stepping out of the hallway to get the stacks of folders to where they belonged. And Cameron rolled her eyes shaking her head at the girl before turning slightly and making her way over to her father and her new co-worker, "hi, I'm Cameron," she told the blonde standing beside her father, holding her hand out for him to shake. After all, she'd been taught the proper way to introduce herself in a professional manner. "I can show him around and things if you need me to." She told her father pretty sure her dad had a meeting or something he had to take part in soon and well he was the boss so he couldn't exactly miss it. It'd also save the poor new guy from getting stuck being showed around by Brad. Who was probably the most annoying person she'd ever met, so really it was almost like a win for everyone.
Jess hadn't exactly expected Riley to call back so soon, but well she had and that certainly showed something about herself. "Yes. Glad you got back to me so quickly," he told her biting his lip as he pieced together what he was going to say. He'd never really been the best at things like this. "I just wanted to see if you would be available to come in today at all, just to go over a few things before you get started." He told her which he hoped she'd be able to because honesty he needed to get people hired asap. The place was opening really soon and he needed to make sure he was at least halfway staffed before they opened so it wouldn't be awful or anything. He was pretty sure the first month or so might be a little rocky, or at least he was preparing himself for that just in case, he was still going to do everything he could to make it as not rocky as possible.

Logan smiled at the woman as she introduced herself, taking her hand and giving a firm handshake. "It's very nice to meet you Cameron," he said professionally, before turning back to her father. Mr. Jenkins nodded his head immediately at her words, "This is true, I'm supposed to be there in about ten minutes. Thanks for the reminder sweetie. You don't mind, right Logan? Besides it will give the two of you a chance to get acquainted with each other, I'm sure you have a lot in common," he said before patting Logan on the back, kissing Cameron on the forehead and walking away before Logan even got the chance to agree. "Well I guess that settles that," he chuckled, running a hand through his short blonde hair. "Thanks for taking over the tour, there's this Brad guy who's been following us around and staring at me since I walked in. I'm glad he didn't take over," he laughed, gesturing towards a man who was lurking by the coffee machine.

    xx

Riley nodded enthusiastically, before realizing that he couldn't actually see her and stopping. This was working out better then she thought it would, she hoped she meet with him today and by tomorrow would have a job. "Yes, of course!" she practically shouted, but then lowered her voice, not wanting to freak him out. "I mean... sure, I could come in today. What time works best for you?" she asked, not wanting him to know that she literally was free all day but well.. she was so she wanted him to know she was available for whatever time worked best for him. She already mentally started picking out her outfit, something professional but not like she was trying to hard. And she would have to wear her vanilla bean lotion and perfume set from Bath and Body Works, it wasn't too overpowering, but everyone liked the smell of vanilla so it was a safe bet. She couldn't wait to come in for the interview.

"Nice to meet you too," Cameron replied smiling when her dad kissed her forehead and walked away. She was pretty pleased that she could still have a good healthy relationship with her father even though she was grown and working now. She also couldn't have been happier about the fact that he hadn't just given her a job just because she was his daughter. "Anytime," she told him at the mention of saving him from Brad. "I'm sure Brad means well in his own way but he's a little weird really," she told him just speaking the truth. "Anyways enough about him. Why don't you tell me about yourself while I show you around," she said figuring she might as well take the time showing him around to actually get to know more about him than he graduated from Yale. Plus he was new, and while she fully trusted her father's judgement when it came to hiring new people Cameron liked to know as much about them as possible. Mostly to decide for herself if they'd get along or if they were someone she should do her best to avoid; because well no one enjoyed awkward tensions and it wasn't professional to argue with co-workers at work. There also might've been the whole she was pretty competitive and didn't want anyone new coming in and showing her up factor, but she tried to keep that part of herself under control.
"Well I'm going to be here all day, we still have quite a bit of setting up to do for the grand opening," Jess said licking his lips and taking a moment to think it over. "How does around one sound?" He asked thinking personally it sounded like a good time. It was still a few hours away which would give her time to get ready. It'd also give him a little more time to go over everything he wanted to talk to her about. Plus he was sure around one he'd be ready for a break from all the work he had planned for the day. Honestly, there was just so much left to do he was glad he'd found one person to hire. It kind of made it that much easier. He also had a plan to kill two birds with one stone and get her opinion on the coffee shop aspect of the store they were working on. Yea he knew it wasn't really part of her job officially or anything but given it'd be her first time seeing it and all he thought that maybe she'd have some kind of input that would be helpful. Plus if she was going to work here she should have an opinion, at least on somethings.
