Andrew sat at the end of the bar and took a sip of his beer. He figured sitting here was way better than being alone at his house. Andrew listened to the music and tapped his fingers on the bar. He looked over when he saw a girl walk up beside him. He had to admit that she was really pretty. Andrew took a sip of his beer, his eyes peering over his glass. He had always been good at picking up girls at the bars. Andrew set his beer glass down and watched as the bartender gave him another one. "Thanks Paul." he said softly.

Mariska laughed with her friends as she made her way to her first class. She held her books to her chest then sat down. She sighed when she realized that she was getting a new teacher today. Not that is matter because she didn't need to pay attention anyway. Mariska painted her nails as she waited for class to start. She laughed at something her friend said and continued to focus on her nails.

Estelle ran her fingers through her hair and took a seat at the bar. She'd only just gotten back into town a few days before she was already missing her vacation. It'd honestly been one of the best ones ever. She could hardly even believe that she'd actually spent the last four months traveling. And she felt like she'd learnt so much while she was over there, so it wasn't like it'd had only been fun and games, though that was the majority of the trip. Really if she could've stayed on the vacation forever she would've, but well life was calling her to get back on track and it was time for her to settle back into the habit of school. Which she was hoping college would be better than high school had been.

Max was a little early to school. Mostly because it was his first day and well he not only wanted to make a good impression to the other teachers and whatnot, he also wanted to send a message to his class. That message was that he wasn't one of those teacher who was late, or let being tardy slide without a good reason. He also planned to make sure his students know that he didn't play favorites, and he wasn't going to let them walk all over him or anything of the sorts just because he was new. He took his job seriously, and they should know that.

Andrew looked over at the girl and smirked as he decided to go talk to her. He got up and walked over to her. "Excuse me miss, but I couldn't help but notice how amazing your smile is." He said with a smile. "Mind if I buy you a drink?" He asked. He figured the worst she could do is say no. He was always one to take chances and hope for the best.

Mariska laughed with her friend as the teacher walked in. Once class started she continued to paint her nails. She really didn't care what his name was or how much he wanted to teach. She just wanted to get threw the year. Mariska continued to focus on her nails even though she felt his gaze on her. She was a very self obsorbed person.

Estelle smiled at the man hitting on her before motioning for him to sit with her. "I'd be stupid to pass that up, and well I'm not stupid." She told him finding it oddly refreshing to be home, even if this bar was a bit dingy and she had really enjoyed traveling. "I'm Estelle by the way." She told him flashing him another smile figuring that if he'd been so willing to come flirt and buy her a drink he was interested, and well he wasn't a bad looking guy so she might as well flirt back.

Max straightened his desk out the rest of the way until the bell rang and he went to close the door since it was time to start class. "I want you all to take one and pass them back." He said as he started to hand each row a stack of papers. "And then once everyone has a paper we're going to go over a few things you all need to know about my class." He said ready to set down the law with them, especially the one who seemed more interested in painting her nails than what was going on around him. She was about to get a very rude awakening from him.

Andrew smiled as she agreed, "I'm Andrew." He said as he shook her hand. He bought her a drink then took a sip of his beer. "So what brings you around here?" He asked. He took a sip of his beer then leaned back against the bar stool. She seemed pretty nice to han out with. He was hoping he would give him a chance.

Mariska looked at her nails and rolled her eyes when the papers were handed her way. She handed them behind her then went back to focusing on her nails. She had finally found the perfect color for her nails. Mariska managed to block out everything around her as she focused on herself. She couldn't help but love herself she was so wonderful.

"Well Andrew," Estelle started smiling when the bartender brought her her drink, thanking him quietly, "I just got back from traveling and needed kind of a low key place to spend some time to get back into the habit of things." She told him since well while she'd been traveling there hadn't really been many low key places they'd went to. And while that was great and fun she knew it couldn't last forever so she just needed somewhere like this to remind her that this was what bars at home were like and honestly she was okay with that.

Max looked over the class once all the papers had been handed out ready to start going over all the things he needed to address on the first day. And he started going over them making sure to see that everyone was paying attention before he noticed that everyone but one girl was. "I'm so sorry that I have to do this class. But it seems that some of your classmates seem to think they don't have to pay attention." He said looking over at who he was assuming was Mariska. He'd heard about her from a few of the other teachers, and well right now she fit everything they'd told him. "So do I bore you Mariska? Is that why you've decided to paint your nails instead of paying attention? Or are you just already so knowledgeable in the rules and everything I'm supposed to teach you this year that you think you don't have to pay attention?" He asked not about to play favorites like he knew some teachers did, and he wasn't about to let some spoiled teenage girl act like she didn't have to pay attention or do the work while everyone else did.

[IT's okay i just wasn't sure if you saw it or not ]

Andrew smiled, "Really? Where all did you go?" He asked. He had traveled back when he first graduated high school. He really enjoyed it and couldn't wait to do it again. Though he was interested in hearing all about where she traveled. Andrew took a sip of his beer as he listened to her speak. She was very beautiful and her voice was captivating.

Mariska looked at him, "Actually you do bore me." She said as she closed her nail polish. "Why even waste you time going over this crap? No one cares about what you plan to do and they certainly won't do half the work anyway. You're wasting your time." She said. She leaned back against her chair, crossing her arms as if to challenge him. She was no going to let a teacher boss her around. He may have been attractive, but he seemed like a jerk. She would just have to break him in like she did all the other teachers. Eventually he would realize that she ran the school.

"I traveling across Europe." Estelle told him pushing her fingers through her hair. "So Germany, France, England, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Scotland. And I went with a friend who'd attending Oxford so we went to England last that way I could see her off to school before I came home." She told him missing her friend so much already, but they'd already made plans to see one another again so she knew she wouldn't have to miss her forever.

Max sighed, clearly she thought that because she could get away with whatever she wanted in all other classes it meant the same for this one. But she was wrong. He looked around the classroom and well this wasn't his first time in a classroom. So he could easily tell which students cared, but which ones she was right about. "I waste my time on this crap as you put it, because there are students who care. And I'd be a pretty shit teacher if I sat around and let those students down by not teaching them. So I do what I do for the students who, shocker, do care. Why do you waste yours? I mean you clearly don't care about being here, so why are you still here then? If my class is such a waste of your time why come to class at all?"

Andrew nodded, "I loved Europe when i was there. I always wanted to live there, but things don't always work out how we want them to." HE said to her. Andrew sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck. He took a sip of his beer then looked at her. "So what was your favorite place you saw?" He asked. HE personally was a fan of Germany but that was because he was a descendant from there.

Mariska glared at him, "I'm here because until they change the law i have to attend this shit hole of a place." She said. "But hey if you want me to leave then go ahead and say the world. I'm sure anything would be better than sitting her listening to to drone on about stuff that we don't really need." She said as she watched him. She was not going to let this guy think he could put her in her place.

Estelle smiled glad that of all the people she could've run into here at the bar it was this guy. He wasn't weird, he was attractive, and clearly they had plenty to talk about since he'd been in Europe as well maybe not at the same time as her but that wasn't important. "I really liked Italy there was just so much there, but I'd say came in a close second because I'd have to say that Ireland was my favorite overall. It was just beautiful there. I would've stayed if I could've." She told him pretty sure she'd never see anything as pretty as Ireland unless she went back. "Where was your favorite place to visit?" She asked.

"Well, you know where the door is so you're free to leave whenever you'd like. After all, this class is a bore so I'm shocked you're even here at all really. Most kids who can't stand this place just skip, or drop out altogether." Max told her not really phased by her comments, or the fact that she was clearly trying to make it known that she always got away with everything. Because while that may have been how it was with every other teacher, it wouldn't be that way with him.

Andrew smiled, "Personally i love Germany. Though my grandmother is from there so i do tend to favor that country most." He said, laughing softly. He took a sip of his beer, "I love the culture there. I did like Paris though." He said. He was glad that he had found someone interesting at the bar.

Mariska raised an eyebrow at him, "Good idea." She said as she stood up from her desk. She grabbed her things and walked over to him, dropping his book at his feet. "Bye now." She said as she walked out, slamming his classroom door. Mariska was always one to make a scene and he was going to make this year way more interesting.

"I liked Germany there's a lot of history there so it was nice. My favorite part of Italy though was the architecture. And my dad's family is from Ireland so in a way I guess I'm a little biased. It was a beautiful country either way though, it was really peaceful too. And ah Paris is so romantic, of course so is Rome and London. Really all of Europe is romantic I think those are just three of the more romantic cities." She said feeling her cheeks flush a little realizing that she was fawning over Europe like she was with some guy she hardly knew.

"Enjoy your day," Max told her bending down to pick up the book she'd dropped and set it on his desk before he finally looked around the classroom ready to get back to his lesson. "I'm sorry you all had to see that, now where were we." He said leaning back into his desk a little and looking over the paper he'd been going over.

Andrew laughed, "it is an incredible place." He said as he ordered them some more drinks. "So much more different than here." He said said. Andrew liked that she was passionate about other countries. As a person who taught geography he was glad to find someone as interested as he was.

Mariska sat with her friends a lunch a half hour later. She laughed with them and began to eat her food. Mariska smiled as she listened to her friend. She was glad she stood up to te new teacher. She would not be putting up with him anymore.
