The Time of Our Lives

Neil texted her back that he had some wine at his house before walking down the stairs. He checked himself in the mirror that was in the hallway leading to the front door, smiling to himself. He had to make sure he looked good for Krissy. And that he did.

Krissy smirked and got in her car. 'On my way.' Krissy made her way to his place. She got out and knocked once she arrived. She was amazed that she had never realized how close he had been before. Krissy smiled as Neil opened the door. She bit her lip. Damn he looked so handsome. It made her feel slightly underdressed. "Hi." she said and blushed.

Neil smiled at Krissy and stepped to the side so that she could walk inside. "Welcome to my home," he told her with a small smile. "There's dinner on the table," he told her as he closed the door behind her. He led her to the dining room, smiling as he pulled out a chair for her.

Krissy smiled. "Oh... wow." she said as she walked in with him. He had made an impressive dinner to. She grinned and blushed as he pulled out a chair for her. She sat down and let him scoot her in. Krissy smiled. "Thank you Neil. This looks amazing." she said looking up at him. "You should have told me to dress up." she said softly only teasing.

Nail shrugged a shoulder lightly and sat down across from Krissy. He smiled as he opened the bottle of wine and poured it before setting it back down on the table. "It's no big deal. You're fine dressed just the way you are," he told her with a small smile.

Krissy smiled and blushed. "Thank you." she said and took a sip of the wine. "Mmm this is really good." she said and took a bite of his cooking. It tasted really good and she was surprised.

Neil took a bite out of his food and sighed quietly, looking up at the clock. He was trying to make sure that Danny didn't show up any time because he wasn't trying to deal with his bullshit again. "Thank you for coming."

Krissy smiled. "Thanks for inviting me. It is really nice to finally get some time alone with you when I am not drunk." she said and blushed. Krissy wasn't sure if she knew how to talk to Neil. She was use to listening to others but it was like he wanted to hear her talk. She didn't understand it. Krissy really liked Neil though because even though he was quiet he was kind.

Neil smiled at Krissy and nodded his head in response. "I wanted to spend time with you after that night but I didn't want to do in public and have people harass you, yknow?" He told her softly. He picked up his wine and took a sip of it, licking over his lips before eating some more of his food. "Tell me about yourself. I feel like I don't know much."

Krissy blushed and nodded. "Me? Oh I am afraid my life is boring. I work, I go to concerts and dream of doing something I actually love but never get there." she said and shrugged. "But you... you are interesting. You are doing what you love. That must be exciting." she said and smiled leaning forward. Neil fascinated her. He had a quality she hadn't seen in most guys and she couldn't put her finger on what it was.

Neil arched a brow at her words and sighed quietly while shaking his head. "Trust me, it's not worth it," he told her quietly while leaning back in his chair. He didn't understand why everyone thought being famous was such a fantastic thing. "If I could be like Hannah Montana so no one knew who I was, I would probably take that chance. Everyone's in my personal business all the time."

Krissy nodded. "I can see that. But when you are up there it is what you want?" she asked smiling at his comparison to Hannah Montana. It was an entertaining thought really. Krissy took another bite of the food. "All I am saying is that I wish I could get paid for what I love to do." she said softly surprised that he hadn't asked her yet what that was.

Neil furrowed his eyebrows in confusion at her words. "What is it that you love to do?" he asked her curiously. He was trying to get off the topic of him because he hated talking about himself and his job. He hated being famous and he hated that everyone he met thought it was this fabulous thing just because he was doing something he loved when it wasn't all that fabulous. It was hard work. Not as easy as everyone thought.

Krissy blushed. "I love to dance. Contemporary mostly with a flare of ballet." she smiled. "I want to express art with my body... and I do a little painting. I wouldn't mind being a painter either." she said and giggled before shrugging. Krissy could tell how much Neil thought she was an ignorant groupy but she wasn't giving up just yet. He deserved the chance to get to know her first and not judge everything she said through the fact that she liked his music and his band.

Neil nodded his head and smiled slightly at her words. "You can always make money through that," he told her honestly. He knew plenty of people who made money from painting or from dancing and he didn't think it would be that hard for her to either.

"You think?" Krissy smiled. "Maybe you can introduce me to someone..." she shrugged. "The only connections I have around here are people that would lead me into pole dancing or something." she said and laughed nervously at the thought.

Neil grimaced at the thought of her being roped into being a stripper. She was way too pretty and had a great mind from what he could tell. She definitely deserved better than that. "You aren't meant for that from what I can tell already," he told her honestly with a smile. He stood up and went to take the dessert out of the oven that beeped, bringing it to the table with two small plates.

Krissy smiled. "Thanks Neil." she said glad he agreed with her. He brought out desert and she giggled. "You went all out. This is wonderful!" she said looking at him in amazement. "Why are you so kind to me when I have continuously screwed up every time we meet?" she asked and smiled softly though her eyes held a mix of confusion and sadness. She must have done something right though.

Neil shrugged a shoulder lightly at her words as he sat down in the chair across from her. "Honestly, I like to give some people a chance and I feel like you deserve that chance," he told her truthfully. He grabbed the knife he brought out and cut the dessert, placing a piece on a plate for him and then one on a plate for her.

Krissy smiled. "Thank you." she said and smiled looking at him. He was so sweet and yet she worried that if she messed up he would be the one to tare through her heart the easiest. Krissy took a bit of the desert and groaned. "Wow..." she said softly and giggled. "Who knew you were such a good cook?"
