@ Dandy Darling;
The eldest would never utter the words to another, but in a way he envied his sister. The boy did not regret the way he chose to live his life, but more times than none the back of his mind yearned for the freedom his sister experienced every night. He would never cross that boundary, however. How could he? So much weighed on his shoulders. It was his job to hold his family together, it was his duty to make his parents proud - they never let him forget it either. "You know, those things will kill you." He warned half heartedly. As much as he wanted to scold his sister he knew it wouldn't budge her obstinate mind. Their parents were no help, so he doubted anything he told her would tame her wild nature. Besides, part of him wasn't entirely sure he wanted her to change. Her personality was enduring, it was almost as if he lived vicariously through her.
"Almost sure my night was far more thrilling than your own," He answered as he lowered himself onto the bed so he was sitting on the edge. His voice dripped sarcasm as he faced his sister, his legs criss-crossed. "I enjoyed a mind numbing marathon of Doctor Who," As much as he loathed the show and all of it's miscalculated facts, he was always drawn back to it. "I even finished the research paper that had me stumped for quite a bit." He gave a slight wave of his hand as if to dismiss his previous failures, something his mind preferred to not dwell on - he was a bit of a perfectionist. "I still can't believe it took me weeks to even string together a thesis." He bit the corner of his lip as he laid back on the bed, rolling onto his side so he could face her. "I don't blame you for not bothering with college." He frowned, not entirely comfortable with his word vomit. "How was your night? Too much drinking, not enough rational thought, I'm guessing."
