Max rubbed his temples lightly. today was not the day to piss him off. As he leaned back in his chair he closed his eyes trying to get rid of this throbbing sensation. Today was a big day for his company he was about to take over a major corporation to merge it with his own. Manson Enterprises was one of the biggest corporations out there. Graduating from Harvard he was the youngest successful bachelor, graduating. Harvard at 24 and becoming the Ceo of his own company at 27 he was the youngest billionaire. Max opened his eyes as the telephone rang, picking it up he held it to his ear."Hello?" he said the woman on the other end spoke low and soft "Mr. Manson, A lady is here to see you, says shes here for the new secretary job interview. " ah that's right. Max had totally forgotten about that his mind had been so preoccupied with many things that he forgot his secretary was away on maternity leave having given birth to twins. Maxton tapped his thumbs on the glass desk that held his laptop, and a few pictures of him closing deals with major known millionaires " Send her up." he hung up the phone. sitting up from his chair moving papers off his desk to.make it look more neat.

Avery bit her lip as she was escorted from the front office to the elevator. She grinned and thanked the nice security man. He didn't smile but gave a polite nod. She was sent up to the receptionist who was a tall lengthy blonde, and like all the other women she had seen around here, absolutely stunning. The woman checked her name and credentials before standing and going to the double doors. She knocked and waited for a reply. She opened the door then gestured for her to go through. Avery smoothed her shirt and skirt by running her hand down the front of her belly to her thighs. She stood straight and put on a gentle and honest smile pushing the nerves away. She had done her homework on this man. He was intimidating to say the least but this was merely a stepping stone in her career and she was not about to pass up this amazing and rare opportunity.
Avery waked through the doors and stood before the desk her eyes being meet by the most piercing eyes she had ever seen. Instantly she felt her insides liquify. Avery bit her lip without thinking before catching herself and regained her business like composure giving him a small pleasing smile before replacing it with her business face. "Good afternoon. Mr. Manson." she said softly her musical and soothing voice rang clear and yet gently between the space between them. The blonde left her folder on his desk before quickly exiting. Avery stood there waiting for him to offer for her to sit or begin talking. If all she heard about this man was true then he might try to intimidate her but Avery was focused on the prize. Three maybe five months of this and she could get any job she wanted in the state.
Avery had just graduated from the state college and moved into town to live with one of her close friends while she tried to find a good job in the big city. Avery wasn't a small town girl by any means but this city was larger than she had lived in before. She hoped to impress Mr. Manson but doubted that many things impressed this sounding man. He was well educated and very ambitious. And according to her roommates Cosmopolitan the most eligible bachelor. Avery wasn't looking for any kind of fantasy though, simply a chance to jump start her career and be set apart in all applications for life. With his name on her resume that was just what she would do. The only thing left to do was to land the job.

Max rubbed the stubble on his chin. Nodding his head at the young blonde that had left her resume on his desk. His fingers ran over the top, he looked up at her and his breathe caught in his throat. She was beautiful there was no doubt about that all the women that worked for him were beautiful but she had a certain glow to her almost innocent in a sense. Standing up from the chair he smoothed down the wrinkles in his suit walking towards the front of his desk taking the resume in one hand he hadn't said a word even after she had said good afternoon. Opening up the first page he saw her name "Avery Nix." he whispered lightly, his eyes scanned the first page not even bothering to look through the rest. She was smart he knew that regardless of going to a state college and not an ivy league. "I'm surprised with grades like yours no one had taken the opportunity of offering bigger and better things." throwing the resume back onto his desk, folding his arms across his chest "I'm not interested in what you got for grades or where your from, I want to know that you can handle a big job like this..." Rolling his sleeves up he walked over to the window that covered up a full wall watching the city and its crazy daily routine "this job can open so many doors for you, this can be your one opportunity" He motioned to the city outside "none of these business waste their time for people who aren't committed and professional"
Max watched the way she squirmed in her seat his ocean blue not taking his eyes off of her he convinced himself he was only reading her body language for professional purposes but he would be lying if he said that was true. The office was silent alittle tension he felt it moving away from the window he took his seat "I want to know why you think youd be perfect for this job, give me a reason that makes you stand out from the rest of all these interviews ive had"

Avery took her seat as he nodded to it. She sat there still listening to him speak. He was a no nonsense kind of man and he knew what he had to offer. Avery smirked as he talked about the city. He had almost a poetic presence. She looked from the city back to him. He was watching her closely and she knew this job was not going to be an easy one to get or keep but she wasn't afraid of the challenge. She passed after his question watching him sit down. "Well let me speak frankly Mr. Mason as to not waste any of your time. I realize how high of stakes this job is as well as the opportunities it presents. That in part is why I am here. Honestly I am honored to have been given the chance for an interview and I wish to assist in helping you make your decision regarding my usefulness to your company in perfunctory manner." she took a breath and looked down at her hands which she had specially had manicured for the interview for a second to steady her breath.She felt shake under his intense gaze but she was not going to let that show. Avery looked back up at him her eyes meeting his. "I do not know the details of your other candidates but I am aware of my own value to your company. I am inexperienced and I did not graduate from an ivy league school but as you have stated you do not care about that. Still you will not find someone with these deficiencies that will be more enthusiastic about the challenges this job presents. I am determined to face any challenge and prevail." Avery took a breath and gave a soft smile that seemed so natural on her face. "I am keen to take this opportunity to learn from some of the best minds in this city. Most of all, I am passionate about being a part of keeping this prestigious company working seamlessly." Avery felt like her answer was satisfactory but she figured that she was about to find out. Avery waited patiently for Maxton to speak.

Max was almost astonished at the way she answered. All the people that have come in and out of his office all the people that tried to impress them with there money and education, all of them were the same yet she stood out. In his years of working with someone no one had given or even could have given him a better answer that what he had. He asked for a right answer and damn did he get one. His mouth was slightly open as he licked over his bottom lip tugging on the suspenders from his pants he laughed lightly to himself. Leaning back in his seat he laughed alittle louder as he propped his feet up on his desk "I must say Ms. Nix no one has given me such a perfect answer as you have" He studied her something about her was so much more than what he was gonna expect. He could tell she would do great things with this company. "I dont do this often and trust me I really dont it takes months to even get a call back from my people, I dont even do the hiring mostly i have my people take care of it." his rubbed his hand over his silk black hair dropping his feet to the ground to give a more formal approach he stood up from his seat walking to the front of the desk looking down at her "Congratulations you start tomorrow I'll have one of my girls train you , we will see how long you can last" he held his hand out to her.

Avery smiled as she watched his perfect mouth fall open. She smiled now with ease knowing that was the right answer. She watched as he licked his lip and bit it making her insides quiver but she remained collected on the outside. Then he started to laugh and she got real nervous. What did that mean? Even the sweet sound was in a way horrifying. She was nervous and yet delighted until he told her it was a perfect answer. Avery beamed feeling a bit like a dog being petted for fetching the ball. But the way he looked at her was so much more and she realized if she was hired she would have to be calm and collected around this unnerving and wonderful man. She nodded understanding the only reason she got the interview with him was because of her quick wits with his usual hiring team. They had sent her straight up here and now it seemed to be working out. He came around and he was so close she could smell him and it made her knees a little weak. She stood beaming and shook his hand. The grip was good but yet she was soft. "Thank you Mr. Manson I look forward to the challenges." she said and had to control herself because she just wanted to kiss him with her excitement. She had expected to be under his scrutiny a lot longer but she guessed the answer to his question had been enough. Avery grinned as their hands finally parted and she was relieved because his touch was like a million needles running up her arm and yet like feathers tickling her skin. It was wonderful and yet scary. "I will be here 6am sharp." she said having read the job description and all the other things she might have needed to know.
