Zacky shook his head, offering a soft chuckle. "I do remember you and you were far from boring." He smirked over at her, remembering all the times they'd sneak out and do random stuff. "Granted we're not in high school any more, but I think there's still some fun in there somewhere." He teased her.

Laney smiled at him, "well the closest theater is about half an hour away." She looked at her phone, "and they don't start showing good movies until seven." She informed him, noticing it was only a little bit after noon.

"Ah well I was a teenager back then and I didn't exactly have the best influences, now did I?" She shot Zacky a smirk as she took another sip of her wine. Other than whiskey, wine was definitely her favorite type of alcohol. But she needed to be careful not to have too much, since she'd rather not get drunk and fuck Zacky again. She'd rather do it sober.

"Well damn, they don't have afternoon showings or something?" Matt asked. He hadn't realized they'd have to wait so long to see a movie. He certainly didn't want to wait around at the house for seven hours but he wasn't about to ask Laney to leave and come back. "Is there a park or something to do outside here? Maybe we could do a picnic or something."

Zacky scoffed, before putting his drink down. "Whoa." He pointed at her, "the only person I remember being a bad influence was you." He smirked at her. "Sneaking out and sneaking into a boys room." He chuckled, knowing thing had never happened. But even then he wanted to take thing to the next level, just was to scared to ruin his friendship.

Laney smiled at him, "yeah there quite a few." She chuckled. "But the best place for a picnic isn't a park." Nibbling on her lip she didn't know if she had the courage to take him out to hook up point. Honestly it was an amazing spot to hang out, but the local teens had trademarked it.

"You did your fair share of sneaking out, too," Hayden teased. She pointed her fork at him. "And you were a little thief, too. Lifting alcohol from that liquor store downtown." It was never very much, usually just a six pack that they couldn't even finish. "So you were a pretty bad influence on me, too. But I think the influencing was mutual."

"Oh, well maybe we can just go to a park for the picnic and go to this other place you're talking about after the movie?" Matt suggested. "And since it's early we can go to dinner before the movie, too. Maybe in the next town over? And if we go to a park, we can walk around a little and enjoy the weather."

Zacky scoffed, "well I only did it to impress this one girl I like." He admitted, though she was right. The went hand in hand. She snuck out for him and he stole for her, it was a never ending cycle but it was their relationship.

Laney put her hands in her back pockets. "It's whatever." She informed him, "I don't mind just hanging out." She said nibbling on her lip. She wanted to go on a date with, but it didn't bother her if they just hung out at friends. No matter how disappointed she'd be.

Hayden just made a face, sticking her tongue out at Zacky. She finished off the wine in her glass and stabbed the last bite of her filet mignon. "So are you gonna come to the restaurant with me today?" Hayden asked. She smirked. "I might have to put you to work, see if I can get any use out of you."

"I mean, we'll definitely go there if you want," Matt said quickly, notificing that Laney seemed a little disappointed. "I just wanted to check out the park, but we'll go to whatever spot you want. I mean, this is kind of a date, we gotta do stuff you want, too." Matt went into his kitchen and pulled out a loaf of bread. "What kind of sandwich do you want?"

Zacky smirked at Hayden. "Oh yeah?" He chuckled, "you can't get enough of me?" Grabbing his glass he sipped on it. "If you missed me all you have to do is say so." His humor wore off, thinking about his time in Cali. He sure as hell had missed her, but he was trying to fix that. And really going to the cafe with her wasn't such a bad idea. Though he knew they both would need space.

Laney blushed hearing his word. "No it's fine we can go where ever." She chuckled, knowing they both were testing the water, trying to figure the other out. "But the park is more for kids." She shrugged. "But if you want to there like one a couple of blocks down."

Hayden rolled her eyes playfully. "That's not what I said, dingus," she said to him. She got to her feet, taking her plate and glass to the sink. "But if you don't wanna go, you can just stay here." She went over to Zacky, wrapping her arms around his neck from behind and kissing his cheek. "But I'd really like it if you came with me."

"Just as long as it's a good place for a picnic," Matt answered. Laney knew the town better than he did, so he trusted her judgement on where they should spend the day. He finished making his own sandwich and set it aside. "I'm gonna make you a turkey sandwich, is that okay? And if you want, you can get some chips out of the cabinet. I'll pack the sodas right before we leave."

Chuckling Zack turned his head looking up at Hayden. "If you really want me to then I'll be there." He smiled, before leaning forward and pressing a kiss to her lips. He had never been good at relationships, so he'd try to make thing work no matter how hard it got.

Laney smiled, "turkey is fine." She said as she grabbed the chips from the cupboard. Putting them on the counter next to him, she was unsure what else to do. She nibbled on her lip, this was the first time she'd ever been alone with a guy. Her nerves were starting to build up, never having had any experiences. She just hoped she didn't make a fool of herself at the park.

"Fair warning, I'm gonna put you to work," Hayden said, moving away from Zacky. She went to her room and slipped on her shoes, tying her hair up into a ponytail as she walked back to the kitchen. "Well come on then," she said, poking Zacky's shoulder. "Let's get a move on."

Matt took the chips Laney sat out and tucked then inside the basket. Next he went to the fridge and grabbed a few sodas. "So, you wanna drive?" he suggested to Laney. "Since you know where this park is and everything." He figured that would be easier than him driving while she gave him directions.

Zacky chuckled as he grabbed his plate, dumping it off into the sink. Grabbing his mean jacket he set off out the woo after Hayden. "It can't be nothing I haven't done a thousand times." He smirked at her, knowing full and well the kind of work she did.

"I don't mind driving, but it's like right around the cornor. Sure you don't want to walk?" She questioned him. It wasn't a bad idea to walk. But if he wanted to drive there then she didn't have a problem. Though she was all for saving gas, and with Matt being recently hired she didn't want to expose to much on his money.

When they got to the diner, Hayden shoved a waist apron at Zacky's chest. "Grab a notepad and a pen, you're gonna help wait tables," she said, smirking at him. They were a little short-staffed today since one of the girls had called in, so she needed Zacky to help out with that.

"Well we can walk, then," Matt said. "And we'll just come back and get the car when whenever we wanna go to dinner and that movie." He picked up the picnic basket and smiled at Laney. "Alright, let's go. You lead the way."

Zacky chuckled as he tied the apron around his waist. "Jokes on you I've done this a million times." He smirked at her, teasingly. He knew that she needed help today, and honestly he was willing to do what ever she needed him to do.

Laney nodded before moving to the living room. "Ready then?" She questioned. As smiling as she threw him a look over her shoulder. Honestly she wasn't hungry but a picnic sounded fun. And spending time with Matt was something she was looking forward to.

"Alright, smart-ass," Hayden said, walking back into the kitchen. Leigh looked up at her sister when she walked in.

"What's Zacky doing here?" she asked, raising a brow in Hayden's direction.

"I needed some help with the tables," Hayden answered, shrugging her shoulders. She looked up at her sister and frowned when she saw the look on her face. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Because I'm not stupid, Hayden," Leigh said. "I know I sound like a broken record, but you really need to be careful. I can tell you're falling for Zack again."

"Yeah." Matt grabbed the basket and followed Laney outside, locking his front door and shoving the keys into his back pocket. "Holy shit, it's humid," he commented. "I should've worn some basketball shorts instead of these jeans and then changed before we went to dinner." He caught up with Laney and grinned at her as he fell into step with her. "So uh, you got any big plans for your birthday?" he asked. "I know when I turned eighteen me and my friends went out and got wasted."

Zack smiled before walking over to a table. He put on the best smile he could muster, feeling their judgement seeping through. He knew he was tattooed and pierced, but that didn't mean he wasn't human. It wasn't until the his third table that an elderly lady noticed just who he was, once people wrapped their heads around who he was they started to open up and truly be themselves and not stare so bad.

Laney chuckled softly, "short wouldn't have been a bad idea." She however was used to the heat and it didn't bother her. Though she did feel a bit over dressed for a picnic. Laughing out she looked up at him, "are you kidding?" She shook her head. "The closest thing to a birthday I've had is the guys at the shop brings cupcakes." She informed him. "I don't have friends." She said softly, it wasn't like she felt sorry for her self, it just sound sad.

"So what if I am?" Hayden huffed. She grabbed an apron for herself and tied it around her waist. "It's not like Zacky is leaving and it's not like he's just using me for sex or anything. I know you're just worried about me, but why don't you just mind your own business and let me be with Zack if that's what I want?"

Leigh sighed. "Fine," she said. "You've always been so fucking stubborn, I know I won't change your mind. But if he hurts you, I'm kicking his ass."

"Well looks like you and I could both stand to make a few friends, then," Matt said. He realized at that point that the only person he'd really hung out with was Laney. "How about we make a deal?" he suggested. He knew it would make things better for both of them if they had a friend or two. "You find someone to hang out with that isn't me, your dad, or anyone from the shop. A girl. And I'll make friends with the guys from the shop or something."

Zacky walked into the kitchen catching the last bit of their conversation though he chose to ignore it. "Okay I have three different orders." He informed them, "but how do you tell which table is which?" He asked Hayden, not knowing how she had her tables numbered when there clearly wasn't a number posted anywhere in the place. Most diners had section or numbers so other employees knew where to deliver food.

Laney scoffed at Matt, "I have friends." She informed him, "I think of them more as aquatinces, but they're friends." She didn't know how to explain it but all her school friends were leaving for colleges and living there lives, so she didn't see the point in prolonging any friendships she had with them when she'd never see them again.

Hayden chuckled as she walked over to Zacky. She pointed out into the restaurant, over to the area near the door. "Table number one is the table closest to the door. The numbers go up as you go straight across the diner and then continue back at the table closest to the door in each row. Make sense? Or do you need me to give you a more in-depth tour?" She added that last bit teasingly, smirking slightly at Zacky.

"Then how come you never hang out with anybody but me?" Matt asked. He knew why he didn't have any friends. He'd lived in this town for all of two weeks and people still looked at him like he was a leper or something. "I mean, not that I'm complaining. I just think it would be good for you to hang out with someone other than me, your dad, and the guys at the shop. You know, like a girlfriend or something."

Zacky scoffed. "No I got this." He informed her before quickly right on each ticket what table numbers they were. "Table three, dude wanted chicken fried chicken with a sunny side egg on it." He frowning, not sure how the guy came up with the combination or how it was ever good. "Anyways eight wanted a loaded baked potatoes, with the works, said you'd know what they meant." He shook his head, he'd forgotten just how weird southern folks could be. "And table one wanted coffee black with bacon, scrambled eggs, and slab of french toast." He looked up from his pad and looked at the two women before him.

Laney sighed she didn't want to have explain her choices. "Starters between working at the shop, school and hanging out with you I have no free time." She informed him. "I." She bit her lip, unsure how to word the thoughts in her mind with out it seeming like she was attacking him. "I happen to like hanging out with you, and I wasn't sure what was going on here, but I'd rather spend time trying to figure things out then leave it and nothing happens." She told him, deciding to go with the blunt and straight forward approach.

"Alright, give me the tickets then, I'll go help the cooks out," Hayden said, holding her hand out. "Meanwhile you can sit down in the back if you want, just make sure you go and check on your tables every once and awhile, okay?" She smiled at Zacky before taking the tickets and going back into the kitchen. She'd have to remember to find some way to thank Zacky for all of his help tonight, because she really did appreciate it.

"Well take some time off, then," Matt suggested. He knew that sounded a little easier said than done, but Laney was the boss' daughter, surely it would be easier for her. "And I like hanging out with you too, even if it is a little weird to hang out with someone so young. And I think we both know what's going on here," he added, smirking just a bit. "I mean, we're on a date. Surely that says something."
