Right People, Wrong Time

Hannah watched Toni worriedly. It appeared that he didn't take the news very well. She sighed to herself, eyeing him as he talked to himself and grabbed one his old beers from the fridge.
She could never bring herself to of away any his things, so she had left it there, leaving it to waste away.
She looks out of the window again, waiting for him to reject everything that she told him and leave her all alone again.
But then he's in front of her, holding her hands, saying those sweet things. Hannah can't help the bright blush that floods onto her cheeks, a smile forming at her lips.
"I know you're gonna do great," Hannah grins, "We're in this together."

Toni smiled and placed both hands on her hips, stepping closer into Hannah. "Yes baby." He murmured and pressed his lips into hers. Toni kissed Hannah passionately for a few seconds, before breaking it and grinning at her.

"But your parents?" He asked, a small frown forming on his lips. Toni knew her parents hated him with a passion. Her father had tried to pay Toni off and get him to leave Hannah, when he refused, her father got angry and violent. There had been many times when Toni and her father had been in this house, screaming and yelling at each other in a heated argument.

Her father had threatened to impersonally, saying he would send a hit man after the gang leader. Which was funny, as Toni knew anyone who would do something, and none were dumb enough to mess with him. But this, the fact that he got Hannah pregnant, her father surely would want to kill him himself. When he had caught the couple in bed together her father had lost it. The couple had still been far from abstinent during their time together. Casually having sex simply to spite her parents.

Hannah smiled back at him, feeling an overwhelming sense of happiness around her. But at the mention of her parents, she starts to feel dread push it away.

What would she tell her parents? They had been sending all sorts of her relatives to check on her. Some sympathetic, some not. Neither of her parents had visited her yet, only calling her occasionally to make sure she hadn't gone to see Toni. And the only reason they did that was to make sure she reflected well on them. They didn't care for her well being. The last thing her father said to her face had been, "I'm disappointed in you." Whilst, that seemed like something small, it still stung to hear.

"I don't know." Hannah answers honestly, casting her look to the ground beneath her. "They'll no doubt want me to get rid of him or her." She frowns. Why was it now that she was just realizing that her parents were cruel people? "But I don't care what they want me to do," She states, "They'll just have to get over it."

Toni nodded as he listened to her. He was glad that Hannah seemed to realize just how much her parents hated them together. He also was glad that she didn't seem to care anymore.

Toni could tell she wasn't happy to have them in her discussion. He reached down and picked Hannah up into his arms and carried her, throughout the house and into her bedroom. "Baby, we're gonna lay down, stress isn't good for you" he murmured, placing Hannah on her own bed. Then climbing in himself.

Toni wrapped his arms around Hannah and held her close in her bed, a stupid smirk on his face as he thought about the memories the pair had in there. But it faded as he thought about the fact he was going to be a father. It was not something he had ever wanted. But he loved Hannah more than anything, and he would be willing for her. Just as the couple had gotten comfortable in the bed together, Toni heard her phone go off, frowning at the rings.

Hannah sighed contently, laying close to Toni. She nuzzled her face into his chest, closing her eyes. She felt all the stress leave her body and she was finally relaxing for the first time in a long time.

Her breathing finally slowed, and she felt herself drifting to sleep. Then her phone began to ring loudly in the other room. She sighed, standing from her bed. "I'll be back." She gets up and walks into the other room, grabbing her phone. The caller ID read, 'Dad'.

Toni held Hannah close. Sighing when the rings went off. He watched her get up and go. But bri the boyfriend he was, got up and followed behind Hannah. Toni walked up behind Hannah, wrapping his arms around her waist, and his head on her shoulder. He saw the caller ID, sighing again. "Someone told him I'm here." Tony whispered quietly, then pressed a kiss to her cheek. "He's gonna be furious baby." Toni said and let go of Hannah, standing besides her now.

Toni waited for Hannah to answer the phone. He wasn't sure what to do. She was the love of his life. But he wanted what was best for her. Maybe he wasn't it,
Maybe her father was right. He couldn't raise a kid in this lifestyle. Even though her father didn't know about that part yet. Toni let Hannah speak to her father before going off to the bedroom again. He sighed and found some of his clothes. Tossing them into a small Walmart bag. He was having doubts. Not of his love for her, but if this was really what she needed.

Hannah stared at the phone, unsure if she should answer. All her father ever did on the phone was ask her how she was, then demand she call him next time.

She never did.

Her thumb hovered over the answer button. It had been a few weeks, almost a month, since her dad had called. She knew that he would probably yell at her, scolding her for not calling them. Sighing, she knew she should answer because if she didn't, he would send one of her relatives over.
Pressing down on the answer button lightly, she quickly held the phone up to her ear. "Hello?" Her voice was soft and quiet.
"Hannah, why haven't you called? I told you that you need to call us sometimes." Her dad's voice was stern, and she knew he was scolding her.
"I don't know dad, didn't feel like it." She sighed.
Hannah could hear her father take a deep breath, "Look, that's not why I called. Your cousin told me that there was a car outside your house. I'm sending your cousin Devin to check on you, make sure you don't have that filth at the house." Her father's voice was harsh, especially when he said 'filth'. She knew he was referring to Toni.
Her cousin Devin was one of the nicer of her cousins. He would turn a blind eye to Toni, if he was there. Relief coursed through Hannah. "Okay dad, is that all?" She asked.
"Yes, hope your doing well. Call us soon Hannah, goodbye." Before she could say anything else, he hung up on her. Hannah took a shuttering breath and set her phone down. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she didn't let them fall.

Toni continued to throw things into a small bag as he heard Hanna speak to her father in the distance. After a few minutes he heard silence. He was about to go tell her that he had to go. But then he stopped, he realized he had just gotten her back. He didn't want to lose her again. Toni frustratedly kicked the back under her bed. No man would abandon his woman and child, and he was a man. Toni headed off to the room where he had left Hannah. He walked up behind her, placing his arms around her from behind, he rested his chin on her shoulder, he turned his head and kissed her cheek. Murmuring against her skin, "I'm sorry about him, but, you're stuck with me." He said. Toni moved around to be in front of Hannah, and placed his hands on her hips, resting his forehead against hers. "I may not know a lot. I know how to run a gang, but what I know more than that is that I love you and I need you." He paused and kissed her nose. "I'll get a new bigger apartment, that we can live in, if you want to get away from your parents. Or we could stay here. I don't care. As long as we're together and a family." Toni said. He picked Hannah up bridal style and carried her to the couch. He sat down, Hannah in his lap, and he turned on the TV, the news was on. "What did your father say?"
