I wasn't sure where to post this, so I hope an admin will move it if it's in the wrong section.

Lately when I'm on Mibba I've been having issues with the banner ads that appear on the right-hand side of my screen. Not all of them - just the ones that are videos and contain sound. Whenever one of those shows up, my entire browser slows down and I repeatedly get an error message telling me there's something wrong with the script. I can either Continue to run the Script, or I can Stop the Script. Debug just opens the script.

No matter what I do, the outcome is the same: I keep getting that error message until I close the tab. If I'm using a different tab, the error message will keep dragging me back to the affected tab. And it takes forever for that tab to close.

So far I've only had this happen to me on Mibba.

So does anybody know how I can fix this? Because I'd love to be able to use this website in peace!

I run the latest version of Firefox.

I used to get issues with the ads here too in that they would direct me to a website that told me something about a virus/warning message/one of those annoying things where you click x and it asks if you're SURE repeatedly on loop. Ugh. And where ads would automatically start playing sound. I searched around and found similar things for other Australian only users on other writing websites so I've no idea what's going on with that haha

I use Chrome and installed Adblock Plus. Stopped straight away, though I still get it on my phone from time to time on the spin off sites.

Google "ad blocker for firefox" and plenty of things pop up. I'd install that add-on and it should stop.

I might have to do that. I ended up downloading an add-on last night that allows you to "blacklist" certain sites so they can't run Javascript, and that stopped all the ads from showing up - but it also prevents me from sending messages and clicking "reply" on the forums! So every time I want to do either, I have to click to un-blacklist Mibba, and then re-blacklist when I'm done. What a pain!

I think I'll take your advice and just find an ad-blocker. I didn't want to have to go to that extreme, but if it's going to work then I'll do it.

Sounds a lot easier than blacklisting the site all the time :/ Good luck!

Ended up downloading an ad-blocker like you suggested, and it seems to be doing the trick without hindering the rest of my Mibba experience. =) Thank you!

Hi there, if you are a marketer or if you are developing in this field - use the software from https://www.adbeacon.com/ ! It will help you improve your business and review statistics on revenue analysis, and the simple interface is very user friendly! It's a great option for advertising agents. Don't be afraid to try new things.
