Kaylynn looked over at Michael as he apologized. "You don't need to be sorry." she said and kissed his cheek sweetly. She was glad that he was being gentle about the situation though. It made her think that he really did care what she thought. She smirked as he told her not to worry. They headed to the snacks table his words making her giggle. Kaylynn grinned seeing Sam and moved up next to her. She gushed with her over their dresses and talked about how beautiful it was tonight. When Micheal handed her the snack she smiled up at him. "Thanks." she said her eyes getting caught on his lips before her cheeks heated and she looked back at Sam. Sam leaned into Braydon as he spoke with Micheal. She nodded to something the boys said before looking back at Kaylynn. "When did you get here?" Kaylynn asked. "We where dancing when the music came on." she said. Since Sam was involved in most of the school activity functions she seemed to always be the first one there and Braydon was helping Sam just so he could be with her which was very sweet. Kaylynn tasted the food and hummed looking at Micheal with sparkling eyes. They where really good. She looked longingly out at the dance floor after a while wanting to dancing to whatever song was playing she didn't care. She would have just gone but she was here with Michael and she wanted him to feel included. She turned to him her fingers tracing over the collar of his jacket before it buttoned at his chest. She knew it would get his attention without her having to interrupt his conversation. When he looked at her she gave a little nod towards the dance floor in a partial question and partial request.
Royce smiled as Bailey's mother enjoyed the little flower and it made him feel timid yet grateful to have given it. He watched the ladies bustle about but his attention came to the man who walked into the room. He watched him move to his usual chair and sit down. If he didn't have his daughters eyes he might have dashed out the back door but the eyes softened him a little. He felt the inspection and wondered just how he was doing on it. "Sir." he greeted shaking the man's hand. "Royce Romans." he introduced himself back and smiled gently. "Thanks for having me tonight." he said wondering what her father would deem him as now?

Micheal was relieved when Kaylynn said he didn't need to apologize, he was making sure not to mess anything up and he knew his impulsiveness could. He gave a quick nod and smile as she thanked him for the snack before turning back to Braydon, the two guys talking about football as the girls talked about their dresses. Both men really didn't understand a fashion sense the same way the girls did. Braydon's arm wrapped around Sam's shoulders as he felt her leaning into him. Micheal listened as the girls spoke, his eyes drifting to another snack as he popped it into his mouth. He felt Kaylynn's stare and her fingers touching his collar, quickly looking down. Micheal grinned and nodded. He looked back up at the other couple. "Hey, we're gonna go dance. See you guys later." he told them, patting Braydon on the stomach. "Don't eat too much." He teased and took Kaylnn's hand, and lead her onto the dance floor. "I'm following your lead. You're the expert." He told her with a smile, his hand giving hers a reassuring squeeze. Micheal was somewhat relieved when Kaylynn didn't run off with Sam, he was glad she was staying here and spending time with him. He looked around and all the dancing couples surrounding them seemed to be in their own worlds.

Beau shook Royce's hand with a firm grip. Looking the boy up and down again, giving a curt nod. Bailey and her mother had finished up dinner and both women came to sit. Bailey sat besides Royce and her mother sat across from them. Bailey looked to her father, gently smacking his arm. "Daddy, stop trying to intimidate Royce." She said and kissed his cheek. Bailey grabbed Royce's hand and gently squeezed it. Beau nodded and looked at everyone. He, his wife, and his daughter held hands and said a short prayer before they looked up. Tiffany looked across at Royce and smiled. "Alright so we have a tenderloin, with mashed potatoes, broccoli, rolls, and some cranberry sauce. Dessert is in the oven." She said, grabbing the plate of tenderloin and passing it to Beau, she passed the bowl of potatoes to Bailey, and then the bowl of rolls to Rocye, she took the broccoli for herself. Bailey served herself and looked to Royce. "We serve ourselves then pass to the right, so you pass to my dad and I'll pass to you." She whispered, hoping he would understand their quirky family traditions.

The song was a medium pace. It was fun to dance to but not too fast it wore everyone out. She grinned as he said to lead. "Spin me." she said and giggled as he did. She came into him and wrapped her arms around him. She danced with him adding her own flare to the song. It amazed her how little people used their bodies. Tot hem it was all about the hips but there where hands and legs to use. She wasn't afraid to touch Michael while they danced. Her hands on his chest, his back or his face. She pressed her body to his or pulled away. She would bend and trust his touch or hold on her. They danced for a while until a slow song came and she blushed slowing down her arms wrapping around his neck. "You're a pretty good dance partner." she said knowing it was high praise coming from a dancer and she hoped he saw it that way too. As the slow song played she laid her head on his chest and closed her eyes breathing him in as they swayed.
Royce was taking the nods for approval or at least he was trying to. So when Bailey came in and sat next to them he rubbed his neck as she said to be nice. He had thought it was going well even if a little tense. He was grateful for Bailey's hand in his regardless. Royce watched them say grace eyes open for a while in shock then bowed his head. He didn't know what he believed but it was weird that people actually said grace anymore. He hardly had family dinners, let alone one with grace. Royce nodded as Mrs. Fosters told him about dinner. "Gee thanks Ma'am." he said and took the basket looking around and following their lead. He nodded softly as Bailey explained. This felt so weird to him but also comforting. He followed everyone's lead and once everything was passed he looked at his plate and dug in. He groaned softly around his first bite then blushed. He hadn't meant to make that sound aloud. He swallowed. "It's delicious." He said and thanked her for dinner.

Micheal was dancing well alongside Kaylynn, he had been practicing during the weeks leading up to it after she showed him how good she was at that party. He moved his hands up and down her body, spun her, moved his body along hers and away. He couldn’t help but smirk as they did. He knew he had the best dance partner in the room and felt privileged to be dancing with her. When they finished a few beads of sweat glistened on his forehead. When the slow song started he placed his hands in her hips and smiled. “Thanks, I don’t think I’m any match for you.” He told her lightly. Micheal rested his head atop Kaylnn’s, sighing softly. He was enjoying this. “I don’t want this song to end.” He admitted.
    -
Bailey and her family finished serving themselves, moving the bowls to the middle. “Feel free to have seconds if you’re still hungry after that sweetie.” Tiffany told him with a smile before she began to eat. Tiffany blushed when she heard Royce. “Oh thank you, you’re so kind.” She told him. Bailey nodded in agreement. “Royce is right mum, you always make the best dinner..” she said with a huge smile. Beau looked over between bites of food, looking at Royce carefully. “Tell me about yourself boy.” He said, his voice deep and monotonous. The man didn’t have much emotion on his face, clearly very protective of his daughter.

Kaylynn chuckled. "If you where in my league I would consider finding a new dream." she said knowing she was really good and she had to be in order to make a career out of dance. The slow song made her heart swell. Her cheeks heated against his chest as he spoke softly to her. She thought about their kiss and she wanted to do that again. She bit her lip gently. "Just don't let go." she whispered back knowing it wasn't the song he didn't want to end but this moment. She closed her eyes and let the music sway her as she leaned into Micheal. The song ended like they all do and she looked up at him. "Hey want to go outside it's kinda warm in here." she said honestly just wanting the moment to last a little longer.
"Thanks Ma'am." Royce said and took another big bite. He looked at Bailey as she seconded his declaration. She didn't seem to get compliments a lot. He looked at Bailey's father as he asked about himself. Royce didn't know what to say. "Umm well I'm a junior in Bailey's school. I draw and am on the track team." he took a bite to give himself time to think looking over at Bailey. He didn't know what to say about himself. He usually didn't have to. "I want to be a business major so I'm taking some college corses." he shrugged. "But I've really just been enjoying getting to know Bailey and I'm grateful that you let me come to dinner Sir." Royce fidgeted in his seat.

Micheal chuckled and rolled his eyes playfully at her. "If I was in your league we could go to school together." He teased. Micheal felt his cheeks and stomach get hot as they danced. Butterflies were building and he had to swallow them. He was so focused on his feelings and trying not to just blurt them out that his mind had wandered away from Kaylynn. He shook his head as he moved back to focus on her. He nodded in response to Kaylynn's words, unable to say anything, worried he would just stutter and mumble. He held Kaylynn close to his chest, his arms tight around her. When the song ended he swallowed the butterflies down again and took a breath. He looked down and nodded. "Yea, that sounds nice actually." He said and undid his tie just a little. He was actually hot, he didn't know why. He moved outside with her, his cheeks still flushed from earlier. "Its so much nicer out here. Cooler, quieter, more private." He said and chuckled.
    -
Beau and Tiffany both looked at Royce as he spoke, Beau keeping his steely eyed expression, taking bites as he listened. Tiffany smiled and nodded, trying to make up for her husband. "Well that's nice." She told him with a smile. "Smart and athletic." She complimented him. Bailey chided in "Yes he is very smart, I was looking at his classwork and didn't understand." She said and smiled, looking to her father, sighing softly. Bailey knew that her father was a typical country man. Very old school, hardworking, protective, and valued hard work and a work ethic more than anything. Beau looked up for a moment, looking at Bailey he smiled before turning his attention back to Royce. "So what's a city boy like you wanting with a daughter like mine?" He said. Bailey shook her head and looked back at her father. "Daddy, stop that." She told him. Beau sighed and shook his head. "Sweetie, I love you, I'm just making sure things are what they say they are." He said before looking back at Royce and raising an eyebrow.

Kaylynn walked out with Micheal her hand in his. She grinned thinking his loosened tie was crazy sexy. She bit her lip and looked at the ground. They walked to the half wall on the property and she sat on the stone her hands pressing her shirt down against her legs. She chuckled and rolled her eyes playfully as he talked about it being privet out here. She looked up at him. "Where are you wanting to go to college anyways? Are you going for football or going straight into law?" she asked realizing she really hadn't asked him questions about the future before. He knew her dreams but they didn't talk about their plans. What he had said earlier stuck in her mind. He had thought even if only for a moment what it would be like to go to college with her. That made her stomach flip and made her think maybe he was serious and did want a real relationship with her.
Royce rubbed his neck as Bailey's mom complimented him. "Thanks." he said. He could tell her father wasn't so impressed. When he asked a straight forward question he thought about it. Bailey scolded her father but he shook his head. "No Bailey it's okay, it's a legitimate question. Although I'm not sure it should be framed in such a way where it matters what lifestyle we both grew up in or want to live in." he looked at Beau. "Sir I wish I had a straight forward answer for you but honestly I'm just getting to know her. I would like to try dating but I think she's not ready for that with me right now." he shrugged. "I am a city boy so it's gonna take a lot for me to change her mind on that. I might have to come help out on the farm to finally convince her but I have to buy the right kinda shoes for that." he chuckled to himself blushing. "So right now that is all the intention I have is to get to know her and hope that she might give me a real chance." Royce said and looked at Bailey because he didn't want to see how her father took that honest answer.

Micheal looked around cautiously as they walked out, wanting to make sure no one else was around and that it was safe. His eyes moved to Kaylynn as she say on the wall, moving besides her. He leaned up against it, crossing his arms and taking in a deep breath of the cool air to relax him. His eyes drifted up towards the starry sky and he smiled, enjoying the peace for a moment. Micheal Looked over at Kaylynn when she spoke. “I’m not entirely sure, haven’t started applying yet.” He said and shrugged. “Gotta do for years of undergrad then three years of law school.” He explained. “I’m not sure if I would be able to play football, there’s plenty of bigger stronger dudes trying out , so who knows if I would get a position.” He explained sheepishly. Micheal wanted to play above high school, but he was being honest he didn’t think he could make it. His father always told him he was a disappointment and wouldn’t go anywhere, maybe there was truth to it.

Bailey sighed and nodded to Royce, carefully moving her hand to his knee and patting it reassuringly as he spoke. Bailey smiled a bit at his words, Royce was handling her father very well and in a different way than her previous boyfriend had, who had been exactly like the family. Beau foster raised an eyebrow at Royce’s words, but nodded as he listened. When baileys aw Royce turn to her she gave him another smile. Beau took a bite, absorbing the information before nodding again. “Okay.” He said gruffly, continuing to eat. Tiffany rolled her eyes at her husband. “Oh Beau,” she said and looked to Royce, placing her hand on top of his. “I think you seem like a good kid Royce.” She told him with a smile. “Just treat our girl right.”

Kaylynn listened to him talk liking the sound his voice made as he spoke about things he hoped for. When she heard a shift she looked at him and studied him. She saw self conciseness in his face. She leaned over pressing her shoulder into his and her hand resting over his. "There is always someone stronger, smarter and more experienced out there. Doesn't mean you shouldn't try if it's what you want." she said knowing it wasn't the best pep talk but she didn't think Micheal needed her to sugar coat things. "Do scouts ever come to your games? Have you talked to your coach? A scholarship could really be helpful with so much schooling." she blushed. "Sorry." she realized after she asked what felt like a million questions that she was prying. She did that when she cared. Kaylynn laid her head on his shoulder. "If you ever want advice or someone to run with I'm pretty good at both." she said. She ran in the mornings to keep strong when she wasn't practicing. She looked at Micheal deciding to tell him. "I have a dance recital coming up." she blushed. "It's my first star act." she shrugged.
Royce turned deep red as Bailey's mom touched his hand. "Uhh Thanks Mrs. Foster." he said. He was starting to understand Bailey's father though and it seemed he didn't have an objections. It was a simple way and Royce had dealt with his fair share of simple and straightforward men. They where rare now a days so it was a nice change. They all continued to eat and after they finished Royce offered to help clear the dinner plates so they could do desert in a bit but Tiffany denied him. "Guests don't work in my house." she said and handed the plated to her husband who looked at her with purposeful eyes and she raised an eyebrow making him take the plates to the kitchen silently. Royce turned to Bailey and smiled softly. "They haven't run me out yet. I'd say that is quite the accomplishment." he smirked.

Micheal blushed at Kaylynn's words, quickly shaking it away. "I know I know," He murmured, looking back at her with a smile. "Woah woah." he said with a laugh. "Well actually, semi finals are next Saturday, coach is getting some of his scout friends to come. But that's about it. It's been years since this high school has made the state championship so if I can really help us get there. Those are some big points for me. And we've never won so that would be even better. Scouts are always at the state championship no matter what." He explained to her. Micheal smiled and his hand moved to Kaylynn's gently holding it. "Why didn't you tell me sooner? When is it? I'll be there." Micheal told her with a big smile. "Kay," he said softly. His face blushing pink as he moved his hand to her cheek. "Can I kiss you again?" He asked, swallowing nervously. He wanted to make up for earlier when he had just kissed her in the photo booth.

    -

Tiffany nodded and smiled. Beau continued to eat, his eyes not truly focused, seemingly thinking. Bailey sighed softly, shaking her head. She was beginning to think this was a bad idea. She smiled when Royce offered to help, knowing her mom would never allow that. Tiffany and Bailey worked on clearing the table and putting the leftovers, as did Beau. Bailey nodded with a smile a Royce. "You're right." After finishing that, away as Beau moved towards their living room. He stood by the large window that looked out on all the farmland. "Royce, come here." He said, his eyes not looking away from the window. Bailey and her mother raised an eyebrow at each other, unsure of where he was going with this.

Kaylynn beamed as he said scouts where coming. "I know you'll do great!" she said. "And if I'm not a distraction I'd love to be there." she said. She knew Micheal was stronger and more clever than he thought he was. She blushed as he asked about her recital. She shook her head and blushed. "My mom's working so I just thought it would be too much to ask." Kaylynn didn't mention why her father wouldn't be there because it was too much. She smiled as he said he would be there before she even told him when it was. "It's in three weeks. I'm going to be pretty busy practicing and all." she looked up at him seeing that huge smile on and her eyes softened as he spoke her name softly. She leaned her head into his hand as it touched her skin. Kaylynn looked at him with vulnerable eyes. She placed her hand over his searching his eyes then she nodded softly and leaned in slowly following his lead.
Royce didn't know what to do with himself while the family cleaned up together. He had never seen family work together like this. He ran a hand through his hair and tried to think about anything except his parents and the empty house he would return to tonight. Royce moved from the table looking at Bailey confused what was going on. This was it. This was the moment where Bailey's father would tell him to leave his daughter alone and get off his property. Royce knew that this had been a bad idea. The part that frustrated him was that he had actually been trying. Royce walked over to Beau and stood next to him looking out the window. "Yes Sir?" he asked the Sir coming out instinctively. Royce was ready for even a death threat. It wouldn't be his first or last for sure.

Micheal could feel how confident Kaylynn seemed to be in him and it made him happy and feel more comfortable being proud of himself. "Of course I want you there." He told her with a grin. "You are not a distraction, you are fuel to make me play harder." He told Kaylynn and smiled again, swallowing hard. Micheal chuckled slightly, nodding excitedly as she told him about her recital. "Awh dang, does that mean we won't get to see each other and hang out until afterwards?" He asked teasingly. "Don't worry, I'll be there. I could take pictures or something for your mom too." He offered. By not Micheal knew how hard Kaylynn's mom worked and he thought highly of her, even if he had only met the woman a couple times. Micheal could feel the heat rising to his cheeks as he leaned down and kissed Kaylynn deeply. He could also feel the butterflies in his stomach multiplying. Micheal moved his other hand up to Kaylynn's cheek, cupping her face in his hands as he continued to kiss her. He didn't want it to end. He just wanted this kiss to be the only moment he remembered. After a bit he pulled away, taking a deep breath. A smile came to his lips and spread until it seemed to reach his ears. "Wow." He murmured, gently letting her face go he leaned down and kissed her cheek.

Beau looked over at Royce when he spoke, motioning his hand to the vast land ahead of them. "The Foster family has owned this land for six generations now, Bailey will be the seventh." he said and glanced at Royce again. "It started as a small pracel, just enough for a family back in those times. And the family has grown it into the large farm it is today. I provide food to numerous local businesses throughout the county and for my family." His head moved as he looked back to the land. "Bailey is my only child and my baby girl. I've raised her in this life with the idea that when I'm too old she will continue on caring for and running the farm. However." He paused. "If that is not what she wants I would never force her. Selling the family farm would kill me, but if we couldn't care for it and Bailey didn't want it, I'd do it. Because she is my world and the msot important thing to me. I support whatever he dreams are." Beau told Royce and then looked at him again. Beau clapped a hand onto Royce's shoulder. "I don't know if I trust you yet, but Bailey seems to. So I will allow her to make her own decisions. But do not think for one minute that I won't keep my eye on you. And if you ever try to stop Bailey from following her dreams. I will put a stop to it." He said and gave a curt nod before moving back towards the kitchen.

Kaylynn smiled gad that she could encourage him. She smiled as he seemed genuinely upset they wouldn't get to hang out more. "Unless you want to start running with me before school yeah I'll be at practice everyday after school." she said and bit her lip. He said he would take pictures for her mother and she felt her heart ache. "I know she would really like that." Kaylynn looked up at Micheal as he leaned in slowly towards her as well. Their lips met and she felt her stomach jump. This was different then last time. She kissed him back softly. It wasn't a kiss that went to quick, it was one of those slow deep kisses that made your stomach drop out and fly, but that also made your head fuzzy and your heart ache. She felt him pull back and she panted a little her eyes staying closed just a moment. she licked her bottom lip and smiled looking up at him as he spoke. she chuckled and blushed looking down at their clasped hands. She smiled as he kissed her cheek. "We should head back inside. It's almost over." she said knowing they would want to enjoy the dance some more before going to the after party. Kaylynn walked back in with him hand in hand. She could feel the eyes on her. People had seen them hanging out but this was a dance. This was Micheal's territory and everyone wanted to know if he would corrupt another one.
Royce stood listening to the man frustrated at him. It was nice he was going to let Bailey decide what to do with her own life but all this about stealing her dreams pissed him off. "I understand." he said and kept looking out the window with a crinkle in his brow. Royce had done some awful things to many girls but he never took their dreams. He never talked them out of something they wanted or talked them into anything. Sure he had a silver tongue and made the girls want him without much effort but he didn't talk them into sex that was their desire. He rubbed his neck frustrated with the night and wanting to go home now but it seemed rude to leave without saying anything to Bailey and her kind mother.

Tiffany took a plate of dessert and handed it to Bailey. "Take the boy to the swing on the porch." she said giving her husband a look. "It looks like he could use some fresh air." she said and smiled softly at her daughter watching her move over to the boy. She wasn't sure that her daughter and the boy would ever be serious or if they where that it would last long but there was something about that boy that made her sad for him.

Micheal was almost overwhelmed with emotions. His head felt fuzzy, cloudy almost, like the time he had a concussion from his father pushing him into a wall. He shook his head trying to clear it. He didn't like the feeling. Micheal wondered if this was how girls felt around him. He heard Kaylynn's voice, but didn't quite comprehend what she said. He was sure she wanted to go in though, so he just nodded. Micheal took Kaylynn's hand and began to walk inside. "Gotta get a few more dances in, especially with a beast like you." He teased, grinning down at Kaylynn. He walked inside and stood tall, grinning proudly. He felt more like himself as they were inside and people were watching him. He had a persona to uphold and wanted to keep his image for the school. He moved to the dance floor and gave Kaylynn a teasing bow. "I will follow your lead, you're the master." He told her and began to dance alongside Kaylynn. Micheal was proud of himself for being anywhere near keeping up with her.
    -
Bailey nodded, taking the pie as she moved over to Royce. She put a hand on his shoulder and smiled. "Come on, lets go eat this outside on the swing." She told him, taking Royce's hand she lead him outside. Bailey sat and handed one of the forks to Royce as she took a bite herself. "I'm sorry about my dad. Hes a stereotypical dude, y'know? He's very protective." Bailey smiled weakly. Almost nervous about losing Royce over her father's protectiveness. She held the plate out to Royce. "He'll come around, I mean as long as you stick around." She said.

Kaylynn felt the shift in Micheal as soon as they got inside and he adjusted. She smiled softly and chuckled. "Okay keep up with me." she teased. They move to the dance floor and she chuckled again as he bowed to her. She shook her head and let the music lead her into a dance. She smiled as Micheal danced with her in a complimentary way. They danced until homecoming was over. She walked out with Sam, Micheal and Braydon following behind. Kaylynn talked with Sam about how happy she was and though Sam could tell something was off with Kaylynn she knew they didn't have time to talk about it now. They separated at the cars and Kaylynn slipped into Micheal's car. She pulled her hair down and fluffed it out as Micheal go in. She looked over at him. He was acting off. She wondered what was going through his head.
Royce took the pie and looked at it then Bailey. He gave a short nod and headed out with her. He sat down and took the fork taking a bite and hummed. It was amazing but he didn't know if he wanted to do meals over here again. She apologized for her father and he shook his head. There is nothing wrong with being protective but what I don't like is the assumptions about me." he shoved another bite into his mouth then shrugged. "Never mind." he said not wanting to talk about it. "This is good pie." he said changing the subject because the only other things he could say right now was I told you so. He had told her parents didn't like him. It still held true and her father wouldn't come around because the more he saw of Royce the more Beau would think he wasn't right for Bailey and he would be right.

Micheal had a good time dancing with Kaylynn through the night. As time wound down he and Braydon grabbed a few more snacks before following their dates out, Micheal waved to the other couple and moved to his car with Kaylynn. He smiled at Kaylynn as he got into the drivers seat, eyes moving over. Micheal raised an eyebrow at her, she had an interesting look on her face that he didn't quite understand. "Whats up?" He asked, his face almost dropping. Micheal was suddenly worried that he had done something to hurt or upset Kaylynn. "Are we okay?" He asked swallowing hard. Shaking his head. "Did I do something wrong back there?" He said and turned more to face Kaylnn. Micheal knew that their deal ended tonight. That this was it. He and Kaylynn had decided if he didn't convince her by tonight, that they were done and would go their separate ways. His stomach dropped at the thought. Micheal was truly hoping that he had convinced her because he had convinced himself and he wanted Kaylynn to stay.

Bailey nodded. "Royce." She murmured, and leaned over to kiss his cheek. "Yes, Ma is a great cook. She always has been." She told him and smiled. Bailey could see on his face how upset Royce was. She wanted to talk about it, but he clearly didn't. She just sighed slightly, moving her feet. "I just want you to know I am very happy you came here tonight, it meant a lot to me." She said. "You're kinda growing on me, hot shot." She teased him, poking Royce's side.

Kaylynn looked at Micheal as he questioned her. She pulled her hair to the side and looked up at him. "What do you mean?" she asked. He asked if they where okay and she blushed. "Yeah Micheal we're okay." she looked down but then looked back at him at his next question and she shook her head. "No Micheal you've been great." she frowned and looked down. "I don't want to ruin this perfect night with my thoughts. Everything is fine we can talk about it later. "Let's go have fun." she said because the moment she told him what was on her mind was the moment he was going to get upset and everything would be over. Yes she worried it all wasn't real and she knew he was hiding something from her but it was more than that. They where so different. They had completely different dreams and this wasn't what she had planned. Kaylynn just wanted to get through tonight without hurting Micheal because she was really starting to care for him and that usually was where she screwed things up. That was where all her trust issues came out and all her buts popped up. She reached over. "I'm having an amazing night. Let's just enjoy it okay?" she asked him hoping he would let it go.
Royce balanced the pie on his knee and wrapped an arm around her shoulder and kissed her head. "Thanks for inviting me Bailey." he said. He thought about inviting her to his house for dinner next week when he parents where in for a few days. Maybe then she would see how different they are and finally break it off. He took another bite of the pie and looked back out at the farm. "It's quiet here." he said. He wasn't sure he liked it. Or maybe it was a different kinda noisy. He could hear the animals and an owl int he barn but it felt still to him and he wasn't sure he could do stillness. It gave too much room for something real to happen.

Micheal swallowed hard and nodded, giving Kaylynn a weak smile. He wasn’t sure if he believed her, but he didn’t want to push it. He knew she was right and he wanted to just have a good night with her. “Yes, yea, that sounds good. Braydon and Sam said they’re gonna meet us at the party. It’s at Jeffrey Holmes house because his parents are in Cuba.” He explained as he began to drive. “Where’s that school you’re going to anyways?” He asked and his eyes glanced form the road to her and then back to the road. Micheal kept one hand on the wheel and put the other on her leg as he drove. Micheal didn’t know where he wanted to go. He had no solid plans. He would go anywhere he had to, to get away from here and from his father. He didn’t think of telling her but he considered looking into schools near Kaylynn’s planned school.

Bailey smiler and nodded. “I’d invite you anywhere Royce, I think you’re good company.” She told him. Bailey reaches over and took another bite of the pie before she leaned back into the chair and took a deep breath, watching the calm before them. She was enjoying the peace when she heard his voice again. “It’s calm, peaceful. Quiet, sometimes. I think the hums and the sounds of the animals are soothing.” She explained. Bailey leaned into Royce and rested her head on his shoulder.

Kaylynn nodded as he talked about the party. She smiled as he asked where her school was. "California. I know a lot of people move out there for big dreams and fail but I just didn't think New York was good for me. The buildings make me feel claustrophobic. "Its a big studio with different buildings for different expertise but they start off teaching you everything." She said and told him about the town and how it wasn't far from the beach. She looked down at his hand on her knee then up at him. She smiled softly. "If you could live anywhere where would you live?" She asked him. They got to the party shortly after and she let him open the door for her. There was a bonfire in the back and dancing inside alcohol everywhere. She slipped her hand into Micheal's as they walked through the crowd. She stayed close to him leaning up to whisper in his ear. "Lets sit by the fire." She said feeling like if she danced anymore with Michael tonight she was going to be in over her head.
Royce looked at Bailey as she leaned into him then back at the night as he felt her head on his shoulder. He felt more calm with her like this. It seemed normal and soothing. It should bother him but it didn't. At least it didn't for the moment. He took the last bite of his pie setting it aside. Royce looked at the night sky thinking about how many stars you could see out here. It really wasn't to far from town either. "What are you wearing to homecoming?" He asked her.
