Jameson bit down on his pen, his long fingers twisting the cap as he stared down at his desk deep in thought. His brows were furrowed and his rigid body remained still, almost like a mannequin with the unreal calmness and beauty that only something fake could hold. That is, until you saw him.
Then, breaking the peacefulness of the moment in his massive office with a whole floor to himself at the top of one of the most beautiful skyscrapers in the city, he snapped the pen out from between his teeth and set it on the glossy oak desk. Damn it. There was a loophole in the contract between him and his partner. That would have to be arranged as soon as possible. With a hard clench to his jaw, he stood up from his chair and put his papers away in a folder buzzing in Amanda, his longtime clerk who was also a busy single mom but on the same level of beautiful as everyone else that worked for him. He always had a soft spot for how difficult it was for her to manage her time, and no one knew but he had helped her in many ways financially since she had started working for him.
After Amanda let him know she would contact his client, he thanked her and let go of the button. Walking to the pure glass panels where a wall would be, he stood right up close to it admiring the view with only glass separating him and hundreds of feet beneath him. Taking the elevator down, the soft ding let him know he was on the main floor seconds later. The doors opened, and he stepped out, or should he say stepped into a small figure with a grunt. "Christ." he hissed. Before he could process what exactly happened, his smoldering blue eyes looked down at her onto the floor and not able to help it as his sculpted lips pulled into a soft smile. "My apology." It was just two words, but even Mel, one of his more contained receptionist's looked up from her desk her plush pink lips parting in jealousy. Jameson offered his hand to the beautiful stranger sitting flustered on his floor, and he was a bit intrigued about her reaction as she didn't seem to process what had happened yet. "I really am sincerely sorry, but if you're so distraught you won't take my hand can I ask what I can do to extend my apology?" His voice was husky rough but smooth like whiskey, just like when you take it, it burns and leaves you raw and wanting more though there was obvious sarcasm and playfulness in his tone, but that jaw dropping smile and dimple dented in his defined cheek was still present as he gave her an amused look.
