Onyx was wiping down the counters just after the lunch. He owned and opperated the only bar in town and well most of the people around liked to drink so he remained fairly busy for the most part though he mainly served food at lunch it wasn't horrible. Not exactly what he intended to do when he was younger but he wasn't that kid anymore and ge did enjoy his job.

He caught a glimpse of a new face off in the corner of the bar. It wasn't very often that knew people showed up around town. He set his rag aside as he closed the distance between them. "Can I get you anything Miss?"

Cecily looked up from the map she was looking at. She had come in just to sit down. She didn't have money to get anything. She bit her lip. "Oh no. I am alright. Thanks though." she said with her slight accent. She looked back at her map before she looked back at him. "Umm well maybe you could help me if you aren't to busy." She said looking around knowing he really was to busy. "You see I am kind of lost. I'm looking for the interstate? I had been on the bus but then it left without me and umm." she felt the tears welling up in her eyes and she blinked them back as much as she could. "I don't even know what to do." she said and couldn't look back at him so she looked at the ground. She had been running for weeks taking trains and busses anything to get as far away as she could from the airport she had come in from. She had spent all her money to get to where she was now. Her stomach growled and she blushed. Cecily was so embarrassed. This man had no idea what was going on and she wasn't his problem. She wan't meaning to put all this on him either. "Maybe just some water." she said knowing she could quiet her belly with some water. Though she had been doing that for a while now. "I am sorry I don't have anything to tip you with." she said.

Onyx frowned slightly as he saw the glisten in her eyes. He didn't like it when girls cried it was always something that bugged him not in a bad way just because he didn't really know how to handle it. He sat down beside her as she started to tell him of what had happened. "Hey don't cry. It's going to be alright Miss." He said though he wasn't entirely sure. It seemed like she was a little down on her luck. "I'll get you a water and I'll did you up something to eat. Is there anyone you can call?" He asked though by the look on her face it didn't seem like she did. He stood up looking down at her. "I'll be right back with a water and I'll have Joe fix you up something. Don't worry about the money we'll figure something out." He said as he walked away getting a water and telling Joe to fix up something.

He walked up to Andrea telling her to handle the people around for a minute. He wasn't the type of person to just let a girl cry. He may not be able to do much but he'd try and do what he could it was something his mom always said to him.

Cecily frowned as he noticed her crying even though she was trying to hide it. "Cecily. My name is Cecily." she said softly. She thought of maybe calling her aunt but that would only get her caught. No she wasn't safe to call anyone. "No there isn't anyone I can call." She finally answered. "Thank you." she said and watched him leave. She bit her lip and tried to dry her eyes. She knew it was stupid to cry but everything had just been adding up and here she was with no way to do anything. Cecily looked around at the people in here. They where all having a good time and where happy. How she had ended up in this bar instead of some other place was a mystery. She had been drawn to this place by some stroke of luck it seemed. She was so tired to. She hadn't been sleeping well and all she wanted to do was curl up in one of the booths and fall asleep. It felt safe here. That was what made it so dangerous because then it became somewhere she wanted to stay and she knew that she couldn't.

When he came back with her water she sipped at it looking at him as she set it down. "Maybe I could help out somehow. There has to be some way for me to pay you back." she said looking down as if she was afraid to look him in the eyes to long.

Onyx sighed softly as he watched her before bringing her a glass of water. He thought about it for a minute her offer. He had two waitresses oringinally but Sam quit two weeks ago and he hadn't really been motivated to replace her. "I have actually been meaning to hire another waitress we usually get busier as the day goes on and it's a little hard for Andrea to handle everyone. You can help out and maybe earn a little money so you can get to wherever it is you plan on going." He said thinking out loud. "Do you have a place to stay?" He questioned looking back at her after his eyes scanned the crowd. "I have an empty apartment above the bar. It's not much but you can stay there." He added after he realized that he had asked a pretty stupid question.

Cecily smiled as he said he had a job opening. "Really?" she asked and nodded listening to him. "Yes." she said smiling then he asked if she had a place to stay and she shook her head no. He then offered her a place to stay above the bar. "Really? You wouldn't mind?" she asked. Cecily was amazed that this man was going to help her like this. "Thank you." she said and almost felt like crying again. "Is there a uniform?" she asked though it didn't look like it. She would have to find something to wear that would work for this place. She finished her water feeling even more relaxed now. She didn't even know what to say. "This is amazing... Thank you." she said realizing she didn't even know his name. This was perfect. Almost to perfect and she knew that she wouldn't be able to stay here to long but just long enough to figure out where she was going and how to live once she got there.

Onyx smiled slightly at her response seeing a small spark in her eyes 'hope'. "Your welcome. I'm Onyx by the way." He said remembering he hadn't even told the girl his name yet. "Its not a problem Cicily. It just sits up there unused. And no uniform." He said as he heard Joe call for him. He walked away for a minute grabbing the plate from Joe. "This is Joes famous mac and cheese." He said as he place the plate in front of her placing a fork in it.

He knew Joe and Andrea might say something about it. Letting a stranger stay in the bar, giving her a job but he couldn't just send her out. The world wasn't always a nice place and a pretty girl like her walking alone to the interstate and probably having to hitch hike that didn't always end well. If ge could gelp her even just a little then he would.

Cecily smiled up at him. "Nice to meet you Onyx." she said and then looked down at the food he put in front of her. Her stomach turned in such a way she knew she wanted to inhale the entire bowl but she knew she needed to take her time. She picked up the fork and took a bite moaning her eyes fluttering closed. "Oh have mercy." she mumbled looking like she was in seventh heaven. She swallowed and blushed looking back up at him. "What time do you want me to start my shift?" she asked. Cecily took another bite and tried to hold back the moan this time. She was so grateful for all of this she was trying hard not to start crying again. She had no idea how she had gotten so lucky. It had all worked out better than she had thought it would. Maybe she would be safe here at least for a little while. It wasn't like this place was a big tourist stop or anything. They had only stopped because the bus driver had needed to go to the bathroom. Cecily would earn this trust he was placing in her. She would make him happy he took a chance on her. She half hoped to get a small nap in before she started work but she doubted that would happen besides if she stopped to nap she might not be able to get back up. Cecily was glad she had taken her bag with her to the bathroom when she had gotten off the bus. It was a small one and her bigger bag was still with the bus probably lost forever but that was okay at least she had a change of cloths for now.

Onyx chuckled slightly at her as she took a bite of the mac & cheese. "It's good to see someone who enjoys food." He commented as he thought about her question. "Five thirty. It starts to pick up a around eight but this will give a little time to get used to it and also we kind of never die until two thirty in the morning." He admitted as he looked around. It might have been due to the fact that Joe made the best food in town and it was just a good place to be if you had no where to go. "Most of the folks in town are good people." He stated and they were he'd known pretty much everyone his whole life. He looked at her for a minute. "Do you have a clothes?" He asked looking at her bag it was small and if it had anything at all it wasn't very much. "If not I think my sister left some upstairs. She used to stay in the apartment during summer break before she went back to school. I think you two might be around the same size."

Cecily blushed. "Thank you." she said again feeling rude for some reason. She nodded thinking she might be able to get a nap in. It was amazing that they where open now and wouldn't stop until the early morning. "Alright." she said and nodded happy to be helpful for once. "I should pick it up pretty quickly." she said honestly though she had never waitressed before. She blushed again as he asked if she had anything to change into. Not anything clean, but she wasn't going to say that. He told her about clean cloths and she smiled. "Thank you again." she said not sure se could say it enough. She finished her food and her water then stood. "If it's not to much trouble may I see the room?" she asked hoping she could take a shower change and start her laundry. "Are you sure you don't mind?" she asked with a little yawn that she quickly tried to hide under her hand. Cecily was amazed at the kindness this man had shown her. She had no idea that there where still people out there that where this kind.

Onyx nodded as he watched her. He didn't say much letting her eat in peace though he did let his eyes follow Andrea as she worked. He knew she could handle it though she was over worked she still showed up and if helping out Cecily could help them out even for a little then there was no harm and he wanted to help her.

"Yes." He said with a smile snapping back into attention at her question. "Follow me." He said as he grabbed the bowl and cup taking it back to the kitchen. "Follow me." He said as he walked back out beckoning her to follow him outside stepping out the door only to begin walking up the steps to the upper apartment. "Here it is." He said unlocking the door and walking in.

Cecily smiled as he agreed. She followed him out from the kitchen into the alley and then up the stairs.He let her in and she smiled. It had a similar feel to the bar but was more homey. She set her bag down. "It's perfect thank you." she said and looked at Onyx. "I guess I will see you at 5:30." she said and looked around. It would be so nice to shower and put on clean cloths. She bit her lip feeling so thankful and yet at the same time like she shouldn't be taking all this kindness from his man. He seemed like he was the manager though or at least someone with a deciding factor in the bar and how it ran. She blushed slightly and saw him out.

Once she was alone she cleaned up and dressed in some new cloths putting in her laundry then setting the alarm and taking a quick nap. She had needed sleep so bad that she hadn't even really realized how bad she had needed it until her head hit the pillow.

"Alright see you then." Onyx said with a smile as he took a step out taking the key off his chain and placing it on the table before walking down and back to the bar. He returned to work as normal though as expected Andrea and Joe had a few things to say about what he did.

He didn't say much back though not that he agreed with them. It would have bothered him if he'd just let her go on her own like she intended. She had no money and it was clear she hadn't eaten in awhile. What was so wrong with helping out someone. They did it a lot the only difference being that the people they helped out were locals but they didn't get a lot of visitors in town. He continued to work though ignoring them and they got the picture immediately shutting up and continuing to work as the hours passed by.

Cecily woke to her alarm having to rub her eyes for them to wake up. She yawned and stood shaking her head. She cleaned up and then finished getting ready. She locked up and put the key in her pocket. She moved down the stairs and into the kitchen. It was a little before 5:30 but she wanted to be sure she was able to really help tonight.

She saw Onyx and she bit her lip. "Umm... Onyx... How can I help?" she asked and was glad when he handed her things. The first being an apron and things to write on. She put it all on and the writing things in the apron pockets. She tried to keep up with him as they moved on.
