Jace got Gabby up into bed and took off her shoes and slowly took her out of her cloths down to her undies. He pulled one of her night shirts over her head and sighed sitting next to her. "You really scared me Gabby." he said his hand on her thigh. He bit his lip. "What were you thinking?" he asked softly looking confused just trying to understand. Jace kicked off his shoes and then pulled off his shirt and pants crawling into bed with her. He pulled her against him cradling her.

Nicole had her hands on her hips as Lucas opened the door. "Don't yes me you know exactly why I am here!" she said her tone sharp but her voice low. She ran a hand through her hair walking in as he let her in. "She's alive thank goodness and Jace is going to take care of her. "Neither of us knew what she took or how much and you were no help! She is my best friend and she could have died on an overdose for all I know! You were the only person she knows there and as Jace's cousin it was your job to make sure she was alright! That is what humans do for each other. At least any decent human being!" she said her voice raising as he closed the door. She was so angry. She ran a hand through her hair tear brining in her eyes. Now that she was getting her anger out the sadness was starting to replace it. "And that is not even bring up another thing. You encourage it! You're pompous attitude and unworried attitudes to the drugs make everyone think it's okay to just take one more. Lucas can do it so they can to right! Uhh!" she moved over to the couch and sat down then blushed deep red and stood back up crossing her arms. She didn't want to know how many bimbos he had had sex with on that couch and the fact that she had done it with him there made it that much worse. "So what do you have to say for yourself?"

Gabby snuggled against him, "I don't know." She whispered as she buried her face in his chest. She closed her eyes and slowly started to fall asleep. She held him close as she fell asleep. Gabby was glad that she had someone to take care of her.

Lucas stared at her as she yelled at him. He crossed his arms, "Gabby knew what she was doing. I didn't force her to do anything. Plus she had her own drugs. Those weren't even mine. I don't touch the shit she was messing with." He said. He walked towards her, "I left because i know Jace would be the first to blame me. I made sure to stay with her til you got there. Trust me i had opportunists to leave, but i didn't. So get off my back." He explained. He couldn't help but be defensive.

Jace sighed and stroked Gabby's hair as she started to fall asleep but he couldn't. He listened to her take in every breath and counted listening to make sure she was okay. He didn't know what to do with her like this. He was worried about her now and wondered how he could fix this.

Nicole frowned and stared at Lucas trying to find her anger again to get away from the overwhelming sadness starting to creep into her but she couldn't. Nicole looked away as a tear fell out and she sank back into the couch and pushed the tear away from her cheek. She sat there on the edge of the couch not looking comfortable at all as she tried to pretend she wasn't crying. "I... I'm sorry I just assumed." she said and bit her quivering lip. "You... you don't happen to know what it was do you?" she asked softly wanting to know the hard shit her friend was into so that maybe she had a chance of helping her friend. Nicole had to focus on helping Gabby otherwise she would realize how easily she could loose her.

Gabby woke up in the middle of the night, stretching. She looked at him and ran her fingers through her hair. "I'm gonna get a drink." She whispered before she got up and made her way to the kitchen. She got herself a bottle of water and began to chug it down. She was so thirsty.

Lucas shook his head, "No it's okay." He said. "I am gonna guess painkillers because of the way they mixed with the alcohol, but i'm not sure." He said. He frowned as she cried and put his arm around her. "It's okay." He said as he ran his fingers through her hair. He didn't like to see people upset.

Jace rolled over to watch her leave the room. He closed his eyes a moment feeling relief that she was awake and was moving around just fine. He sighed and put his arm over his eyes as he lay there in her bed. He realized just how much he cared for Gabby. It was serious for him, it had been for a while.

Nicole glanced at Lucas as he sat by her then looked away again. He spoke and she realized he knew a lot more about this than she did and somehow that comforted her. He pulled her into his arms and that only made her cry harder. She turned her head into his chest clinging to his shirt. When the fear passed and numbness set in she could feel him stroking her hair. She sighed feeling each touch cooking life back into her. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to come here and cry all over you." she said and looked at he tear stain on his shirt. She rubbed it gently even though it was useless. "I just don't know hoe Gabby got this far into it. Sure it might be the first time but that's just the first time I have seen it. And why? I don't want to..." she hiccuped on the thought that brought so much pain. "I can't loose her." Nicole admitted and looked up at Lucas.

Gabby walked back in and laid down with him. She snuggled against him. "I'm sorry Jace." She whispered as she pulled him close. Gabby kissed his cheek and pulled the blanket over him some more. "Get some sleep baby." She whispered as she kissed him again.

Lucas nodded, "She will be okay. We just gotta watch her." He said. He thought about what he went through personally. "Look i went through this before myself and Jace helped me so i'm sure he can help Gabs." He explained. He wanted to make sure that she felt better. "We can figure it out." He assured her.

Jace looked up hearing Gabby. He pulled her close and then closed his eyes as she kissed his cheek. "I just don't want to do that again. I knew how to deal with Lucas going through it but you're... you're different Gabby." he whispered and pulled the covers over his shoulder. "Alright babe just please still be alright in the morning." he said and closed his eyes blocking out the shadows of the night.

Nicole looked up at Lucas and nodded. "Thanks Lucas... You've been kinder than I deserve." she said and then laid her head back on his shoulder that crease still between her eyebrows though. "Can I stay here tonight?" she asked feeling to tired to go home and if she went home she would go check on Gabby and that was the last thing she needed to do tonight. Nicole realized how rude it was to ask but she didn't mind using Jace's room or something. Really Nicole just didn't think she had the strength to go home.

Gabby nodded, "I will be here in the morning." She said. She kissed him and then slowly fell asleep. The next morning she woke up and sighed as she took a shower then sat down on the end of the bed. Gabby smiled as she looked at Jace. He looked so peaceful.

Lucas nodded, "Yea you can stay." He said. He showed her Jace's room, "Goodnight Nicole." He said as he watched her walk into the room. Lucas sighed as he got ready for bed and then laid down and tried to get some sleep. He felt bad for watching all this happen.

Jace slept in later than usual. The wear of the night before had caught up to him. When Jace woke he sat up and looked around his hands going out to the sides of the bed as if searching for something. He saw Gabby and relaxed again. Jace smiled and moved over to her bring her into a kiss.

Nicole smiled. "Thanks Lucas." she said and followed him to Jace's room. She stripped down to her bra and undies then crawled into he bed to tired to think about who's bed she was in. Nicole hated how cold the bed felt and how unfamiliar it was. She laid there for a long time and even though she was tired was unable to fall asleep. Nicole bit her lip and walked out of the room and across the small hall to Lucas's room. She knocked softly and then slipped in. "Lucas?" she whispered closing the door behind her and pressing her back to it. "Can... Can I stay in here?" she whispered hoping he heard her and yet also hoping he had't.

Gabby smiled as she kissed him. "Morning baby." She said as she kissed him deeply. She sighed as she stared up at the ceiling. "So what should we do today?" She asked as she snuggled up to him. She kissed him and then laced her fingers with his.

Lucas nodded, "Yea you can stay in here." He said. He scooted over so she could get in the bed and closed his eyes and started to fall asleep. He slept silently, waking up the next morning. He smiled when he seen Nicole laying next to him. It was nice to have someone with him.

Jace sighed relaxing as Gabby laid beside him. "Well I am going to take you out on a date." he said and smiled over at her. Jace was going to make today special because he wanted Gabby to see how much he cared.

Nicole smiled softly and then got under his covers and snuggled up to him falling asleep beside his warmth. Nicole woke up as the light lit up the room and she frowned not feeling like she was in her bed in her pjs then last night came back to her. Her eyes popped open and landed onLucas. Nicole blushed and then pulled the covers a little closer to her body. It was more exposed than she was sure she was wanting to share with Lucas at the moment.

Gabby sat up some, "Yes that sounds fun." She said, smiling as she kissed him. She couldn't wait to go out with him. It was always fun to spend time with him. Gabby kissed him again and then took his hands, "I love you." She said as she kissed him again.

Lucas woke up, rolling over and ut his arm around the body next to him. He grumbled something in his sleep, but kept her body close to his. When he felt her move, his eyes fluttered open. He opened them, realizing that Nicole was there. "Oh hey." He said, pulling away from her slowly. He could tell that she was uncomfortable.

Jace smiled. "Good." he said and kissed her softly. "I love you too." he said and then caressed her cheek and stood. "Let me first make you breakfast in bed." he said and pulled on his pants before walking out and towards the kitchen.

Nicole looked up at Lucas smiling softly. "Hi." she said a soft blush on her cheeks as she basically hid under his blankets. She realized the last time he had probably seen her this naked other than perhaps briefly i the moonlight last night was the drug dazed night they had spent together. "So umm I guess in my sleepiness modesty really wasn't on my mind." she said and chuckled. It kind of made her sad somehow that he had pulled away though she had pulled away first. It had felt so nice in his arms before she was fully awake.
