I Know the Sound of Your Heart

"It must have come as a surprise when they heard about me from Johnathan then." Bucky said. He wondered what the low-life had said about him, but it only lasted for a split second. He really could care less what the guy thought. He was helping Rosie out, and it seemed to be working well. That's all that really mattered. "Since we're apparently going steady, I think meeting your folks is probably the next step." He sent one of those charming smiles of his the blonde's way. "Just let me know where I need to be, and I'll be there, Rosie."

Rosie chuckled at his words, "I'm sure it was. I don't think he said anything bad about you though because my father seemed pretty excited to meet you. He was just a little upset that I didn't tell him or my mother about you." She replied with a small laugh. When he spoke and gave her his typical charming smile, she blushed lightly before she grinned up at him, "Well my dad said that dinner is tomorrow, so pick me up around five thirty?" She questioned with a smile. Rosie was beyond nervous, but she was also extremely excited to spend more time with Bucky. She knew that he was going to charm the hell out of her parents, specifically her mother, "I'll give you the full rundown on the way to their place so you're prepared."

"Was he now?" Bucky quirked a brow at her words. "Well, if he was talking me up, then I'd be pretty upset if I was your father too. I've been told I'm quite the catch." He winked at her, that signature cheeky grin of his playing at the corners of his lips. "I'll be there at 5:15, doll. Better to be early than late. I wanna make sure I make a good impression on your folks." Whether they were actually an item or not, he still wanted her parents to like him. "I'll be sure to bring a pencil and notepad to take notes." He chuckled softly.

Rosie shrugged, "I can only assume. It was quite a shock to me." She teased with a laugh. When he winked at her, she playfully rolled her eyes, but she could feel her stomach flip despite her best efforts. When they arrived at her apartment, she smiled, "I'll see you tomorrow at 5:15 then." Rosie said with a smile before she hugged Bucky, pressing a quick kiss to his cheek before she walked up the stairs to the door, "Goodnight, Bucky." She said with a smile then scurried inside so he didn't see the blush on her cheeks.

Bucky wrapped his arms around her in a tight embrace. "I'll see you tomorrow at 5:15, doll." He said, smiling as he pulled back. He hoped that he made a good impression on her parents tomorrow. He knew that they weren't actually an item, but he wanted to be the best damn fake boyfriend that he could be for her. "Goodnight, Rosie." He didn't get to say much of anything else after that because she was scurrying into her apartment building shortly after. He let out a soft chuckle, shaking his head as he had noticed the blush on her cheeks.

Rosie went to bed with a smile on her face and woke up with one as well. It was Saturday, so she didn't have to work, but she did have some things she had to do before dinner. She wanted to keep her mind busy, so she wouldn't overthink the night ahead of her. She knew that her parents were going to love Bucky so much. It had been almost three years since Rosie had brought a man to her parents' house to meet them, and it hadn't gone very well. Her father didn't really connect with him, and her mother didn't even really speak to him. Rosie just knew that things were going to be different with Bucky. He was a very loveable guy, and that he had a way of charming people. He had managed to do it on her more than once.

Bucky wasn't an overly nervous person. He sort of just went with whatever life threw at him, and didn't like getting bogged down by new situations. For some reason though, he could feel his stomach tying in knots as he walked to Rosie's apartment the following evening. He knew that he had no reason to be nervous, he wasn't Rosie's actual boyfriend or anything, but he still wanted to make a good impression on her parents. He wanted them to like him. He hoped that they would like him. He knew that he just needed to be himself, and that was what he planned on doing, but that didn't mean he wasn't nervous for whatever reason.

Rosie finished putting her lipstick on before she checked the time, seeing that Bucky should be there soon. She grabbed her purse before heading down the stairs and out the door of her apartment building. Rosie smiled widely when she saw Bucky and quickly hurried over to him, "You look very handsome." She stated as she greeted him with a hug and pressed a kiss to his cheek with a smile. She stuck out her hand when she saw a taxi, flagging it down quickly. Rosie was a bit on edge with nerves for the upcoming dinner. She knew there was really nothing to be worried about and that her parents were more than likely going to love Bucky, but she was still nervous about making sure everything was believable.
