"And you look different," Niko countered, bringing a hand up to hold Danny's jaw lightly, tilting his head to the side, assessing. "I can't quite put my finger on it though."
Danny slowly looked up to meet Niko's eyes when the other took hold of his jaw. "Let's not bother about that. I want to know what you've been up to." Whatever had happened to him during those months had changed his personality, too. He was afraid to admit he had killed supernatural beings to Niko, but at the same time, had starting falling hard for the other.
"Working, swimming, walking in the woods," Niko shrugged, trailing his fingers along the line of Danny's jaw before letting his hand drop. "There's been a distinct lack of lost, handsome men to save, though."
Such was the mundane life of someone like him, he supposed. Even with restrictions placed on different species, there was nothing special about who he was or what he did.
Danny swallowed, eyes staying on Niko's as the other trailed fingers along his jawline. "You think I'm handsome?" he asked, before taking hold of Niko's hand and kissing his fingertips. If his family saw them together...
Danny smirked at his words. Without a word, he stood, setting his weapons down by the rock, stripping to his undergarments. He smiled playfully at Niko. "If I'm not handsome, don't save me." He dove underwater, holding his breath.
Niko watched Danny dive in, the action startling a delighted laugh from him. He watched the ripples that Danny's dive had caused for a moment before slipping into the water after him.
Under the water, he watched Danny for a moment, admiring the way the other man's body moved in the lake. Breathing was of no issue for him and he was free to look his fill without concern.
Danny came up for air, glancing playfully Niko's way. He let a devious smirk grace his lips, before pretending to start drowning. He was purposely baiting Niko, as he wasn't quite ready to give up his spot as 'damsel in distress' yet.
Danny gasped in surprise when Niko pulled him into his chest. "Should I be frightened?" he asked back, leaning his head back enough to try and kiss Niko's cheek.
Niko tucked his chin over Danny's shoulder, smiling a little.
"I could sing and you would be helplessly infatuated with me, so taken by my voice you wouldn't even realise you were drowning," he pressed a kiss to the damp skin of Danny's shoulder. "But luckily, I suppose, you're an interesting distraction. And I've never been one of those traditionalist types."
Danny moaned faintly when Niko pressed a kiss to his shoulder. "I am grateful for that, then," he whispered. He shifted, pressing his lips to Niko's, treading water with his legs to keep himself up.
(What species is he, then? Clearly, I'm a dummie.)
(Siren! Sorry, I thought I'd mentioned it, ha. I just like the idea of pretty men singing people to death ._. And figured if they can do that then why not songs that compel for other things.)
Niko gave a soft, pleased sound as Danny kissed him, allowing the contact for a long moment before pulling away entirely, swimming back a few strokes.
"Although it looks like it was your plan to lure me in, hm? Strong hunter that you are, out in the woods."
Danny pouted when Niko swam away from him. "All because I wanted to kiss you," he said, smiling. "Besides, I may be a hunter, but I think you're the one who cast a spell on me
Danny blinked. "I wouldn't know. Nobody's been handsome enough to garner my attention," he murmured shyly. He grinned, swimming close to Niko, before splashing him.
His eyes widened when Niko dipped under the water. He gasped, feeling Niko's hand on his ankle, before he was dunked. He came up, sputtering. "Niko," he complained lightly.
"Ah, but you started it," Niko chided as he broke the surface once more.
He moved to the edge of the lake, hoisting himself up to sit in the edge of one of the rocks, feet still in the water.
"It's getting dark," he commented idly, the sun no longer visible as it slid behind the trees, it's rays still warming the sky with a softer light as evening fell.
