Paige swore that her heart had stopped and as she dropped her bowl of fruit onto the table, that she was going to in fact. Her eyes shot to her husband, only to widen with each thing he ticked off. "He just... he just wanted to make sure that my life was okay. That he hadn't ruined it and he wanted to apologize," she whispered, knowing it was a full lie but she hoped Ryan would accept it.

She pushed herself closer to him, setting a hand on his thigh. "Please. I won't ever see him again. I won't leave the house without you. I won't answer the door. I won't do anything at all without your permission. Please," she begged, looking up to him through tears.

Paige whimpered as he stood, closing her eyes tightly as another tear fell. She nodded along, not wanting hi to think she wasn't listening. That was the last thing she was doing. Paige groaned as she was punched, falling to the floor from the force of the blow. She screwed as he kicked her, trying to push herself away from him. Paige sobbed in the dining room once Ryan left her be. She had her arms wrapped around her middle, her ribs were so sore that she wondered if he had maybe even broken one. Eventually, she calmed down enough that she wasn't crying so it wasn't enough to stand. She struggled to walk into the kitchen with the plates that she began to wash off. Once she finished, Paige lingered in the kitchen before heading into the living room. "I was just stupid. I'm sorry, Ryan," she whispered, staring at the floor. All she wanted to do was make this better. She had no idea how. "What do you want me to do?"

Paige bit back a sob as he spoke, only to scream as the bottle came flying toward her. Her eyes were wide as she barely managed to avoid it. She stood and slowly made her way over to the shattered bottle. Picking up the pieces, she made her way into the kitchen so she could begin making lunch.
