"She better fucking be ready." Brian pulled the hood of his jacket over his head, it had started to rain. He had stopped by Melissa's house, one of his best friends since elementary school. It was their senior year now, and he had been giving her rides to school since he got his license two years ago. Not that she couldn't drive herself, she was notoriously lazy.
He walked up her driveway, the rain was just a sprinkle at the moment, but the thunder that rumbled was a sign of harder storms to come. He raised his fist to knock on the door when it flew open and a very flustered Mel stormed past him. “I know, I know we’re late. Let’s go, everyone else is probably waiting for us!” Brian rolled his eyes, and followed after her, she was already waiting in the passenger seat when he got to his car.

He was in a rush, he had told Demi he'd meet her way before classes started. She was probably wondering where he was.

Melissa had slept in pretty late, and was shocked she had managed to get out of the door just in time. Her parents had left for the week, and no one was home to make sure she listened to her alarm. She knew Brian would have been pissed if she had been late. He hated school, but he hated being late even more. She was slightly nervous to see Mathew, they had had a bit of an argument over the phone that night. Just something petty. She hadn’t gone and hung out with the rest of the group during lunch, instead she had been studying in the library. He didn’t believe her, they each said some things they hadn’t meant.
She was worried he was still upset. When they arrived at the school, the rain hadn’t yet picked up, and it was still drizzling.
“There’s Matt…” Brian pointed to Melissa’s boyfriend, he stood well over her, and was much larger. Though she knew he’d never hurt her, Melissa was nervous and could only nod, as they parked the car and made their way over to the group.

Matt took and saw Melissa as he sighed. He'd said some things the night before to her that he knew he'd hurt her with. She'd also said things as well that hurt him. Matt took and sighed a little to himself and run a hand over his face as he saw the group head inside. He took and walked over to her, "Mel can we talk?" Matt asked her staring at her. He cared so much about her that he wanted to make up right there and then.

Demi felt Brian's arm go around her waist as she smiled going inside with him. She glanced back at Melissa to see her frowning. She frowned herself walking with Brian. "Is Mel ok?" Demi asked her boyfriend of nearly seven years now as they walked inside going to where the seniors had to go too.

Mel almost called out as the rest of the guys and Demi walked into the school. She sighed and looked up to Matt, “Yea, but it’s starting to rain again.” She led him to the side of the school building. It was covered and empty, everyone had gone inside. She leaned against the brick wall, and crossed her arms over her chest. They had been together since 8th grade, and had had a couple of fights, but it was senior year, and Mel had been feeling a bit sick for the past couple of days. She’d thrown up every morning for a week, and was exhausted. She hoped she wasn’t getting the flu.
“Listen Matty, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have yelled at you like that last night. But, you have to believe me, why wouldn’t you?” Her voice was shaky.

Brian led them into the Senior hallway. He needed to stop by his locker before classes. He held Demi close to his side as he unlocked the lock. “So, have you given any thought to community college?” Brian knew Demi was incredibly smart.
“Yea, Demi, I mean forget about Brian, but you can’t leave us!” Jimmy was hugging Zack and Johnny close to his side, large grins on their faces. Brian was glaring at them, and turned back to Demi.
“Shut up.” Brian growled at them, and turned back to Demi. He was holding her hand, gripping it in his tight. They had been together for so long, when she had brought up going away to college, his heart had stopped.

Matt looked at her and frowned seeing how bad he'd hurt her. He should've believed her. But like some stupid ass, he didn't. "I' am so sorry Mel. I really am." Matt told her.

Demi looked at Brian and knew this was going to turn into an argument. She sighed shaking her head, "I love you guys too." She said to the boys as she looked at Brian. "I love you too, but I am still thinking of Virginia Tech or University of Tennessee." She admitted to Brian.
