Katherine smiled as she watched Matt and Samuel interact. She really hoped they did get along. "Matt just became a guard for my family," she stated. "He protected me from a guard that had whipped my face."

"I was wondering what the mark was," Samuel said. "It's good to know you have people looking out for you."

Matt nodded his head. "I have a meeting with the king," he said. "Please excuse me." He bowed before he walked past them, looking over his shoulder. He had a bad feeling about this guy, and he didn't like it at all.

"So how long are you planning on staying," Katherine asked. "My father made it sound like you'd be staying until we wed and then we'd leave for Spain together."
