Allura had arrived at the shop early, opening it up with a key that had been given to her by the shop's owner, who happened to be her older sister. They switched off working there inbetween school, and whenever the other was more busy, they would cover the other's shifts. They'd had the shop in their family for years, and it had been passed down and handled by many of the family members. She juggled her keys in one hand and a hot coffee in another, flicking on the lights as she passed through and set her things down at the counter. Allura tucked her hair behind her ears and then set to work, watering flowers and wandering through the aisles, her fingertips dancing across the soft petals of all of the flowers that they had there. She plucked the ones that seemed to sing to her especially lovely that day, quickly putting together a bouquet of daises of warm colors, pretty, deep reds and cheery, bright yellows. Once she had finished, she tied them together and picked a piece of stationary, writing out an "xoxo" as she always did.
It was then that she carried them across the street, giving a little wave to the owner of the bookstore, Linda, as she placed them on the counter and left. She did this daily, getting some little joy out of leaving something for the pretty girl that worked there. She was too nervous to encounter her face to face, so she was content to keep trying to leave her varying flowers and bouquets anonymously, just to let her know that someone was there that wanted to make her smile. Allura returned to the shop smiling softly to herself, and she hummed as she busied herself with all of the orders that had come in, arranging flowers and dancing around the shop as she did so, plucking the flowers delicately that she needed and piecing them together. She had just finished the last of her coffee when someone walked into the store, sounding the little bell that was there. She looked up, adjusting the glasses that she had that had slipped down her nose, and gave a little smile when she saw that it was the pretty girl from across the way.
She had been wondering how long it would take her to finally make the journey over, as she was being quite obvious by leaving the stationary that had the shop's name on it accompanied with the flowers. Although the sight of her made her heart start beating faster, she tried not to let it show, and tried to remain nonchalant and unassuming. "What's your name, sweetheart?" Allura asked with a smile, and upon hearing it, she pretended to pull out the book that they kept the records of all of the flower's orders in. She knew that it wasn't in there, but she didn't want to give herself up quite yet. She moved her finger down the page, trying to seem like she was searching for her name, and stopped at someone random, moving to pull out a piece of paper and a pen. She instead wrote down her own number quickly before handing it over. "Here you are. They've been sending these flowers for awhile, and have told me that they wouldn't mind me giving their number out if you wanted to speak with them. Good luck, darling," Allura said, a smile spreading over her lips once more.
