The Therapist and The Enigma

Once the wounds were cleaned she carefully rubbed some antibiotic ointment over them before placing bandages over each one. She frowned a little as she noted the scarring on his body, but didn't say anything as she took off her gloves and threw them and the used medical supplies away.

Ingrid looked up at him, frowning a little. "Where did you get the scars..?" She asked nervously, taking her seat once more.

Holepunch looked at his chest, "through torture," he said softly. He sighed softly, "I was left behind," he added.

Ingrid frowned deeply, eyebrows furrowing as she looked at him, eyes wide with concern. "Oh, Holepunch..." She whispered, not knowing what to say. "I.. I'm so sorry.."

Holepunch looked at her, "it's not your fault," he said softly. He smiled softly, "I'll be okay," he added.

"No one should have to go through that.." She whispered, frowning as she fiddled with her fingers nervously.

"That's so terrifying.." Ingrid whispered, looking at him. "Do... Do you remember anything else?"

Holepunch shrugged, "its still kind of blurry," he said softly.

Ingrid nodded a little. After a moment of hesitation she carefully brushed her fingers over some of the scars, biting her lip worriedly, her fingers trembling. She could remenber her father having similar scars, and it scared her to think about what had happened to them both.

Holepunch looked at her carefully, "what's wrong?" he asked softly. He shifted trying to get more comfortable. His wounds were stinging slightly from the ointment, but he pushed it from his mind.

"M-My father was tortured like this when he was the army... I remember being little and seeing them for the first time after he had come home.. I-I was so scared.." Ingrid whispered, struggling to maintain her composure.

Holepunch nodded softly, "Ah I see, I'm sorry," he said lightly. "I'm sure he handled it a lot better than me," he added.

Ingrid shrugged a little, pulling her hand away aways she looked away from him. "If you consider beating your wife and child handling it better then I guess he did.."

"You might have startled a nurse or two, but other than that I don't believe so." Ingrid smiled a little, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Do you need anything else before I leave?"

Holepunch shook his head, "no I should be fine now," he said smiling slightly. He was finding this place very strange, and to be honest, it was a little too clean for him.
