"Beep! Beep! Beep!"Was the sound of the alarm, informing Kylie that it was time to get up. Reaching over to turn off the alarm, she glanced at the time. 5:00 AM. Letting her body adjust to the fact that it was time to get up, Kylie slowly rose from bed before starting to get ready for the day. She started off with a quick shower, then moved to brushing her teeth, made her way to her closet to put on a baby pink v-neck top, a black pencil skirt, and black 2 inch heels, and finally walking back into the bathroom once more to apply her make up. Once all that was done, she brushed her blonde hair before decided that she was going to curl it. After all was said and done, Kylie quickly grabbed her belongs and headed out the door. Looking around at the still dark sky, she just smiled. Today was Game Day for the College Football Team and she knew her boss was going to need her to be on point more than ever...not that she ever really tried to fail him. Before wasting anymore time,Kylie climbed into her Deep Red colored SUV and started driving.

When she arrived at the school, she saw the not a lot of people were there yet.However, a small smile spread across her face as she saw one indiviual's truck. "Of course he'd beat me here today..." She said aloud to herself, giggling a little. Parking her SUV, grabbing her things, and heading out of the car, Kylie walked into the office. She said a quick good morning to the ladies and administration in the front before making her way to the Athletic Department which is why she worked.

All through college, she had done an internship with this department, and her she was now working for them,,,the same college that she attended. When she reached her office, Kylie put her things on her desk then went to check the coffee pot, seeing that someone had already made a very fresh pot of coffee. She poured herself a cup, mixed a little bit of creamer, then sugar before taking a sip. "Much better." She whispered as she held the cup with both hands.

Now to say her good morning to her boss. Her boss, Coach Sam Williams. A man she had known all her life. Sam was her best friend's (Lucy) father as well as went to college with her parents. so Kylie knew that when she was offered the job to work as Sam's assistant, there had to have been a slight of favoritism there...but she never acted on it.

Walking over to his office door, Kylie smiled seeing him already sitting at his desk and looking over things for tonight's game. "Good Morning Sir." She said in her soft toned voice.

It had been a rough year for San Williams, he had recently lost his wife and it still hurt. Seven months to be exact and he couldn't imagine keep going. Not without her, but he knew he had to for his kid. His little girl Lucy, who wasn't so little anymore. She was in college, the same one he was coaching football for. He helped her with a anything and everything she needed or wanted. She was the only family he had left.

Sam was up early and had taken a quick shower and dressed getting ready for the day. It was game day and it was going to be a good one. He was a great coach, everyone liked him and he knew football like the back of his hand. Today was going to be a good day. He even had Lucy's best friend as the sports writer for the column. Or something he really wasn't sure.

Grabbing a cup of coffee he was out the door and headed for the school. As soon as he got there he began planning game strategies, of corse they'd use some of the same ones but they had to change some.he looked back when he heard a soft voice Interrupt his thoughts. "Oh hey, Miss Walked.. ready for the big game?"

Kylie smiled when the Coach pulled away from his work to acknowledge her. "I'm ready for tonight...but the big question is: are you ready for tonight?" He asked softly. She already knew that answer though. "I shouldn't have ever asked that question...I know your answer." She said cheerfully. She moved closer into his office, taking a small sip of her coffee.

She walked a little closer to his desk, looking over at all the papers on his desk. "Going over your famous strategies, I see." She smiled as she placed her coffee down to look at her planning agenda for the day. "You don't have much on your schedule today. I always make sure to have a rather cleared schedule for you on your game day." She reminded him, knowing that he truly appreciated it. "The only thing you have is a meeting with some of the other head coaches throughout the state at 11:00 am, and a short staff meeting at 3:00 pm." She said, looking over the pages in her planner.

"Is there anything you need me to do for your this morning?" She asked.

Sam took a seat and looked over more strategies, "as always, I've got it covered thanks. Yes I'm always ready" he watched as Kylie made her way to his desk. He watched the young woman she went over his plans and simply nodded.

"Well thank you, I appreciate all your hard work," he said sincerely. He had gotten her this job because she was such a hard worker not because he was good friends with her father. "No that's all thanks Kylie. You can go check out any games or whatever it is you do on your free time" he chuckled.

Kylie smiled and nodded. "Of course." She said as she wrote down a couple of things. She then picked up her cup of coffee once more, getting ready to head back to her desk. "If you need anything, you know where I am." She winked.

She then made her way over to her desk, answering a few emails, answering a few phone calls, and other things like that.

When it was time for lunch, Kylie got up and went to walk back to Sam's office. "Sir, its lunch. Do you need anything? Want to go to lunch or something like that?"

Sam was keeping busy at meetings and going over plays with the team and then took a break to go back to his office. Finishing up whatever he had planned before the game.

He looked up when he heard Kylie walk into his office, "sure lunch sounds good, I'm going to finish this email real quick and then we can go okay?"

Kylie smiled and nodded. She was all set to go. As she waited for him to finish, she smoothed out her skirt. She then glanced down at her phone to see that Lucy text her. She smiled and replied quickly before putting her phone down. "Lucy says hi." She smiled as she made her way over to his desk.

Sam finished up and grabbed some folders with plans and strategies and looked at Kylie and chuckled. "Tell her I said hi" he quickly walked out with Kylie "so what sounds good to you?"

Kylie looked to him. "I don't know. I was thinking BBQ, but I didn't know what you were thinking so I thought I'd ask you." She said with a small smile. "How does BBQ sound?" She then asked.

Sam let out a hearty laugh, "someone really wants Barbeque. All right Kylie we will get you some barbeque, let's go.. we can take my car" he told her as he led her outside. "How's everything going for you by the way?"

Kylie blushed a little. She was rarely in a mood for Barbeque but when she was she wanted it. She walked with him out to his vehicle, smiling as they walked. When she heard him ask how everything was going, she had to stop and think. How was everything going for her lately? But then she had to stop again, it was very rare that Sam or as everyone was like to call him Coach, asked how she was doing or really anything personal like that. She turned to him and nodded. "Well it's been good. I don't know if Lucy told you but I broke up with Mark. Caught him cheating on me with Rachel Porter and I just couldn't do it, and just to think I was going to marry that man...somewhere down the road." She sighed getting lost in her thoughts for a quick moment only to pull herself back out. "Other than that it's been okay. My mother still doesn't understand why I didn't become a Fashion Designer or some silly thing like that, but that's old news." She laughed lightly before becoming quiet, fearing she may have rambled too much. "What about you...Sir?" She then asked.

Sam didn't usually ask personal questions and for a good reason too, especially someone her age. Things like this, like what she just said. Drama. That was twenty years ago for him and he was glad he didn't deal with this. "That's too. Bad. Sorry to hear that." He got into the car and turned it on. "Ah, parents aren't always the most understanding. Just ask Lucy" he chuckled. "I'm fine No exciting news just taking care of my kids."

Kylie looked at him. "Yeah, it does seem like bad news, but I don't like drama, which is why I got rid of it." She added. She then went quiet again as he started talking about parents not always understanding and such. "I don't except my mother to understand everything, but I just sometimes she would let it go that I'm not following the dream she wanted me to do." She stated. She then nodded with a small smile. "And you're such an amazing father." She said softly. She then looked at her phone and smiled. "Oh, and your son, Riley just text me and wanted me to remind you that family dinner is tonight and that he's bringing the steaks over."

Sam stayed quiet as he drove not paying much attention and then looked one reason at Kylie. "Ask him why he didn't just text or call me. You're not really my assistant" he said trying not to sound rude.

Kylie frowned a little but didn't say a word, acting like it wasn't okay. "I guess because he knows we work close together and we're all like family..." She said as she text Riley saying to call his dad if he needed anything. She then stayed quiet the rest of the way.

Sam turned to Kylie and sighed, "I'm sorry I didn't mean to snap at you.." he pulled up to the barbeque place. "Tell me what you want and I'll bet it for you.."

"No it's fine." She said softly. She then cleared her throat before giving him her order that she wanted. She looked back at her phone, still staying quiet. She had never annoyed Sam and didn't want to start that now, especially with working for him and such.

Sam nodded and got out of the car and went to order their food, he hoped re hadn't scared Kylie that wasn't his intention. Twenty minutes later he was back wth their food "okay..."

Kylie looked to him and smiled sweetly. "Awesome." She said softly. "It smells so good." She said with a bright smile. "This is going to taste soo good." She exclaimed with a bright smile. She wasn't going to let one little thing upset her, she wasn't that type of girl.
