Kaylie leaned back into couch as she looked around the parlor. it was amazing how large the gang leader's house was. He basically lived in a modern mansion! She smiled a little before crossing her legs and pulling her dress down slightly. It wasn't very often that she was allowed to go do anywhere near the gang. Her brother, Matt, preferred to keep her away as far as possible for safety reasons. Though every once in a while it was unavoidable for her to tag along. Sometimes they would be hanging out together and he would get a call from the leader. If they were out, Matt knew better than to just leave her since they probably took the same car. But other times the gang decided to throw a party and sometimes he was expected to invite her. Sure, it was odd. But Kaylie liked seeing the large mansion, and who her brother worked with. It never bothered her that her brother was in a gang either. After all, her was too and the one her father was a part of treated them like family. She often wondered if her brother's group was really the same way.

"So, do we all understand the plan?" Toms voice was laced with a thick English accent and just a touch of husk as he spoke. He had called everyone together to talk about a trade they were going to begin, with a neighboring gang. They'd trade drugs for large sums of money and vice versa. Nothing they hadn't handled before. As the group broke apart and began leaving his office on the second floor of his home, Tom stopped Matt. Matt was his right hand man, his closest friend, the one Tom placed all of his trust in.

"You'll be in charge of this one. Make sure none of the others screw this up." He was speaking in a low tone to the other man, he wanted to keep the conversation between just to two of them.Matt nodded and with a pat to the shoulder Tom ushered him out and followed Matt down the stairs.

As they descended the stair way Tom, rolled up the sleeves of his white button down shirt, exposing strong, tattooed arms. He ran his fingers through his hair. As they neared the last step Thomas looked up and his blue eyes landed on a young woman. "Kaylie Clarke" Tom's lips split into a grin her name rolling off of his English tongue. He stepped from the stairs and strode towards the woman.

Tom had met her more than once, and while she had always been beautiful recently he started seeing her in a different light. He wasn't sure if it was the threatening glare her older brother would shoot Tom when he acknowledged his sister, or if she had changed some how.

"Beautiful as ever. " He dug his hands into his black pants pockets and stood in front of her, he stood at least a foot or more taller than she did and as he stared down at her he admired her milk chocolate colored hair, and matching eyes, as well as her pale skin and how well she looked in her dress.

Matt's eyes narrowed as he watched Tom head over to his sister. He never liked the way the others looked at his sister, least of all Tom. And he definitely didn't want her to have anything to do with them. After all, Kaylie was his sister which should be more than enough reason for them to leave her alone. He didn't want her to be with them.

While they were good friends of his, Matt was more than aware of their relationships, their issues, and their work. And Matt knew Kaylie wasn't like any of the girls they typically dated, and she didn't want her turning into anything like those girls.Though, Matt normally didn't worry about it too much. Most of them liked to tease him about it, but respected or feared him enough to leave Kaylie alone. And he tried his best to make sure she wasn't around too often.

So ignoring Tom's attempts to speak to her, Matt walked up to Kaylie. "I have to go take care of something, so I can't take you back to your apartment." Matt pulled out his wallet and handed her a couple of twenties. "Call an Uber, and this should cover it. And if you can, just stay home, okay?"

It was unlikely that the deal tonight would go sour. It was pretty straightforward. However, if something did go wrong both sides were sure to wreck up the town to send a message. Though, Matt didn't have to worry about Kaylie too much. He had been careful about who knew who was in his family. And it was quite unlikely that any rivals would connect the dots between them.

Kaylie took the twenties from Matt with a small sigh. "This is way too much for an Uber. But you owe me for ditching me again so I'll take it." She joked lightly as she got onto her feet. "And if you really wanted me to be safe, you would bring me home and not put me in an Uber. I am probably more likely to get attacked by an uber driver at this point than walking around in town tonight." Kaylie gave Matt a pointed look, her eyebrows raised.

Though she took a moment to turn to Tom, giving him a soft smile. "Hello Tom. You are looking rather handsome today too." She told him warmly. While she wasn't around a lot, Kaylie knew that Tom was the leader of the gang, who was the only one above her brother. He was an extremely handsome man too, and his hair just looked like the kind that was soft and perfect to run your fingers through. However, Kaylie knew how Matt felt about the idea of her even looking at one of them.

Matt shook his head as he put a hand behind Kaylie's back and started to lead her away from Tom and towards the door. "You will be fine. The uber driver is not going to kill you. And just tell me you'll stay inside."

"That's not what I meant. Though never mind about the driver. Fine, I will stay inside tonight. There is no reason to worry about me, okay? But don't kick me out yet, I haven't even ordered the car yet. Goodness Matt." Kaylie pulled away from Matt, shaking her head at him as she pulled out her phone.

Thomas admired their relationship. He had grown up an only child, and while most days he wished he had a sibling to confide in, he realizes it would just be another body he needed to be worried about. He was good at taking care of himself but, having to watch over another would prove difficult for him. Most of the time he didn't mind being alone. Plus, he wasn't sure he wanted to be a protective older brother, Matt made it look to difficult. Thomas would much rather put his energy into watching his own ass. Tom grinned at the exchange between brother and sister. He cleared his throat loudly, his fist covering his mouth, taking only a few steps before he was standing near them again.

"I can give her a ride, I'm much safer than an uber." His eyes twinkled as he spoke. Chasing after Mathew's sister in recent days had become sort of a game to him. He knew it pissed Matt off to now end, and it was part of what made it so fun. Something about forbidden fruit, and it being sweeter. It was just an added bonus that Kaylie was as cute as button, and sweeter than pie. He hadn't spent much time with her but, that would be because Mathew took every chance he got to make sure Tom and her were never in the same room. Even when they were in their younger years.

Matt looked over at Tom, obviously displeased with his suggestion. His eyes narrowed at bit at the man. While he knew that Tom would be safer than an uber, he also knew that Tom had been chasing after his sister for some time now. Though, Matt didn't know if it was a serious pursuit or if Tom was just trying to fuck with him. Plus there was also the concern that a rival would see the two together...Unlikely but that would cause trouble.

Kaylie, on the other hand, was quite pleased with the suggestion. It would allow her to not take an uber, plus she did like pissing off Matt time to time. Not often, but she couldn't always be nice to him. He was her brother after all, and sometimes he was a little shit. Besides it wasn't like she was going to do anything with Tom. Kaylie had gotten way too many lectures about why she should stay away from his friends to think it was a good idea.

"I think that sounds like a great idea. Thank you." She smiled brightly at Tom before looking to Matt. "Please just let him drive me, Matt. It will be much better, safer and faster than an Uber. Plus that way you'll know I got home safely."

Matt looked back and forth between the two for a few moments before letting out a deflated sigh. Kaylie was right, and it was unlikely that the two would really go after each other after all of the time he took into telling them not to. Besides Kaylie was actually a good girl and probably wouldn't want a guy like Tom. "Yes, fine. Though go straight home, okay?"

Thomas nodded, "Straight home." He stood next to Kaylie now, his hand on her lower back as he guided her out of the door and towards a black vehicle. A driver waited patiently in the drivers seat and Tom opened the back door for her, stepping aside. He gave one last look to Matt, grinning widely as he slid into the seat of the car next to her. When the door closed, Thomas could see Matt staring at them from the sidewalk as they drove away.

"How have you been Kaylie?" He turned in his seat to ask her, the car was moving slowly and he could barely hear the sound of passing vehicles. The windows were tinted so no one could see inside but Tom could see clearly out of them. But, he was more focused on the woman sitting next to him. His eyes scanned over her and how beautiful she was. The innocence of her features had always drawn him in. They were so different from the women he was used to, plastered in make up and the sickenly strong scent of perfume .

Kaylie waved goodbye to Matt before slipping into the car. She knew that he was probably worried about it, but there was nothing that he should be concerned about. It wasn't like her apartment was too far away from Tom's place anyways. Though, Kaylie would probably text Matt anyways so he could stop worrying so much. While she had no idea what he was doing for the gang tonight, she had a feeling that he would probably need to keep his mind on himself and off of her.

Once Tom spoke, Kaylie turned her attention to him with a warm smile. "I have been quite good. I've just got promoted at work, so that is pretty exciting." Kaylie worked at a nurse at the local hospital. It was why Matt barely went to the hospital because he normally just went to her. "How about you? How are you?"

Thomas smiled, leaning back in his seat "Oh you know, just work work work." He winked playfully at her. Being the leader of a gang was a full time job. Tom hardly slept, and when he did it was for just a short while. Thomas wasn't worried about his life, he had had more than his fare share of death threats. But, he was beginning to feel lonely. Sure he could have anyone he wanted in the city but, finding someone he could trust was hard.

"Have a special someone yet?" He asked Kaylie, the car slowed to a stop at a red light as he asked. He wouldn't admit to himself that he was hoping she'd answer with a negative.

Kaylie looked down for a moment as her lips barely curved upwards. Her head then lifted back up as she glanced at Tom. "Unfortunately, no. It's um...hard to find that someone special, you know?" She had been in a committed relationship last year. Though the guy she had been with would have definitely called the cops on her brother and father the moment he found out the truth about her family. And they were too important to her to allow that to happen. Sure they might do some unethical things, but neither of them belonged in jail. And it was unlikely that anyone outside of a gang family would really understand that enough to not snitch on them.

"And I am assuming you're not tied down yet?" Kaylie asked him, her smiling growing a bit more. Matt always told her that Tom was a bit of a wild one. Though she was curious as to how true that was. Surely, most people, at some point wanted to stop chasing."Or did you manage to find someone that has been able to tame you a bit?"
