Nova walked with her friend Rachael down the highway. Nova was so tired of doing community service already. She just happened to be with Rachel when she got in trouble for under age drinking and breaking into a ware house. Nova had just been in the car waiting for Rachel, but that didn't matter to the court. So here she was, picking up trash along the highway like some kind of delinquent. Nova frowned as she listened to Rachel apologizing for the hundredth time today, "It's fine Rachael just let it go." She said, shaking her head. Nova turned to walk with Rachael, smacking into one of the guys that was there as well. She recognized him from school. Well she had seen him around school, but never spoken to him. He was older than them and kind of a bad kid. Nova was amazed by how many tattoos he had. What parent let her kid do that. It took her a whole year to convince her parents to let her get her belly button pierce. Meanwhile, this guy was covered in tattoos. "I'm sorry." She said, finally once she realized that she was probably standing their like an idiot. She moved away from him and returned to Rachael's side.
Holden sat on his porch, drawing in his notebook as the sun beat down on him. He thought for a moment, then looked up when he seen a car pull up. His neighbor got out with some girl he had never seen before and a little girl. Holden assumed they were his daughters because his mom had been helping Mr. Anderson out since he was alone. He remembered his mom mentioning that the girls would be coming to live with him. Holden stared at the older girl for a moment, before looking down when she caught him. He began to draw again, trying to pretend like he didn't just get caught staring at her. Holden wondered if his mom was going to invite them over and if he would have to play nice with them. She had mentioned it before, but he didn't know if she was serious about it or not.
