Zack had been watching a lot of tv and movies when he wasn’t busy helping around the house, learning a lot more about social interaction. “Why does my chest feel all tingly?” he asked.

“That’s what being in love feels like sometimes,” Scarlett replied.

“Do you feel that way with Matt?” Zack asked.

“I used to,” Scarlett stated. “Now I’m not sure how I feel about him.”

Zack frowned. “I’m sorry,” he mumbled.

“What Matt and I have is complicated and it has been from the start,” Scarlett replied. “It was silly of me to think us having a baby and living together would change our dynamic.”

“I got in the way,” Zack said.

Scarlett shook her head. “No,” she stated. “If I didn’t have you I would be home alone, miserable, bored and beyond frustrated.”

“I don’t want you to feel that way,” Zack said.

“I don’t because I have you,” Scarlett insisted. “Having you around makes me happy and keeps me sane.”

“So does that mean you love me?” Zack asked.

Scarlett nodded. “Yes I love you.” She gave Zack a questioning look as she moved away from him and began washing her hair. “What’s with all the questions,” she asked.

Zack shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t know,” he said. “I can’t help my curiosity.”

Scarlett finished washing her hair and looked over at Zack. “Do you want me to wash your hair,” she asked.

“I can do it if you don’t want to,” Zack said.

“I don’t mind helping you shower,” Scarlett stated.

Zack nodded his head. “Okay,” he said.

Scarlett washed Zack’s hair, feeling like them being together made more sense than her and Matt ever did.

Zack closed his eyes, letting out soft noises of approval at the feeling of her massaging his scalp.

Scarlett helped Zack wash his hair, making sure they were both clean before she got out of the shower and grabbed them both towels. Once she did that she turned the shower off and helped Zack out and wrapped a towel around her body. “I’m going to check on James,” she stated. “Are you okay to dry yourself off?”
