We will be the love you’ve always wanted,
we will be the fire in your blood…
We will be the vice of your desire,
we will be salvation in the flood…

We will be the arms that lift you up and we will be the hand that strike you down…
We will make you scream our name forever,
we will make you go another round…

Taven had been standing at a merchant's booth in the middle of the town when he realized that he was unable to log out of the game. Every time he'd brought up his menu to log out, it would bounce back with an error and force close out the menus. He had to a job interview to get to tomorrow and needed to get a good night's rest so he'd be sharp, he couldn't be stuck in this game until they figured out the glitch. A panic was beginning to start and rise in him and he wasn't sure what his next course of action would be. He glanced around the town square, at the NPCs that were meandering about, doing their normally programmed routines, but couldn't spy any other players close to him. The NPCs were giving him their normally odd looks, but his character build was one of a foreign land of deserts and sand, not the lush green countryside he found himself in. The clothing he wore was loose-fitting and draped around him and his curved sword hung by his side. The sun was still shining in the sky, the old mud and thatch roof buildings were the same as they ever were and the smell of fresh grass and sod was so different than the city that he lived in.

He took a step back from the booth, shooting the NPC running it a look before turning to begin to make his way out of two. Surely they had a group of people trying to fix this issue. They couldn't just have however many players that were currently logged into the game stuck in it, could they? This virtual reality that linked him to this world, made him feel like he was a part of the world around him was fallible, and he knew that, but an issue like the one they were having could potentially be life threatening if he couldn't let someone know he wanted to log out.
Penelope was crouched in a corner of one of the larger cities in the game. The cobblestone streets were slick with a fresh rain and water was dripping off the eaves of the buildings, even though the sun was peeking through sporadic cloud cover. The bottom of her tunic dress was sopping wet and hung on her heavily as she had found out that she wasn't able to log out a few hours ago. She had built her character as a rogue, someone prized for their quick blades and even quicker wit, and she had gone undercover as a simple maiden for a quest she'd taken. She normally wore soft, black leather with half of her face hidden, but to have her face completely out in the open and her hair down and loose felt odd. She had her blades strapped to her legs, which made her feel a bit more comfortable. Being a rogue had gained her a bit of animosity from other players, guilds, and NPCs she'd stolen items from, so she would never risk being bombarded without a weapon.

She figured they had a group of troubleshooters trying to figured out, so she wasn't too concerned, but she did think it a bit odd that they would have an issue so far into the games release. Just out of curiosity, she pulled up her menu and attempted to log out, but once again was met with an error screen. A short hum left her as she glanced around, searching for another play to see if they had any idea what was going on. She knew she wasn't playing during a very busy time period, but she hadn't seen another player in the sea of NPCs in a while and it was beginning to worry her a bit. She shook her head a bit and tried to push the thought of being stuck in the game for an extended period of time from her mind and instead focused on the quest she'd accepted.

Lennox made her way into the small town to get supplies for the quest she was on. She walked into the town, noticing how odd everything appeared. Players had been freaked out about not being able to log out. She assumed that it would be fixed soon. Lennox walked through the streets, glancing around at everything. Lennox gasped as she ran into someone, looking up to see a man that clearly wasn’t from this area. “Sorry.” She said, pushing her hair out of her face. She couldn’t get over how amazing his eyes were. “I’m Lennox.” She said, offering him her hand. He seemed to be friendly. Usually in this game, people that were going to be an enemy made that very clear.
Tate pushed his way through the crowd up people, looking around. His eyes narrowed as he caught site of a girl headed towards him. She definitely was a player and seemed to be on a quest. She was really focused. Tate’s only goal was to get out of the town he was in. He hated how all the NPC’s crowded around him. It made him feel closed in and nervous. He had always liked being out in the open. Tate looked at the girl, his eyes following her through the crowd. He moved over to her, trying to figure out was she was up to.

[That was terrible. Facepalm I will do better on my next one. ]
