You Played Those Hearers Like Toys

Claire awoke in the morning to the first day of senior year. She yawned putting her hair up only halfway before getting her makeup on, which was very little, and proceeded to getting an outfit on that suited her. Her skirt had daisies on it and she had a yellow tank top on as well as a pair of cute white flip flops. She grabbed her backpack and grabbed her phone as she made her way to school. She wondered if she would be valedictorian. She shrugged knowing that it didn't really matter if she was or not. All that mattered was that she got a great scholarship that paid for everything and let her be able to get a wonderful education. She got into the school building and smiled at some of her friends before going to her locker and taking out some of the books she would need and brushed her silvery hair away from her face and her beautiful hazel eyes. She pulled a book out and started to read it as she walked down the hallway ignoring cat calls from freshmen guys as she went.

Claire had her nose buried in her book as she walked down the hall. She popped her neck by moving it from side to side. She heard someone say something and looked over before gasping as her book was taken from her hands. "It's the first Game Of Thrones Book. Can I have my book?" She asked frowning as she tried to reach for it. She didn't want to lose her spot and really didn't want to have to find it again. Who was this guy? His charm didn't have any to no affect on her and she didn't care. She looked right through him practically. She didn't understand why he was picking on her. She was five foot one and was shorter than most girls as well as boys. She crossed her arms over her chest her brow furrowing as she did so. She heard more freshmen whistling at her and frowned before glaring at one of them that called her a mouse. She didn't like being short, it apparently made a lot of the guys here think they could just do anything they wanted to. One person asked if she was lost and that the middle school was a block away. "Oh, great insult neanderthall. Maybe you need directions towards the library to help with your lack of brain cells." She retorted unable to control herself before jumping and grabbing her book before hurrying off.

Claire sighed just heading to her class and pushed her hair away from her face her plump lips parted slightly as she tried to spot her classroom. She heard the guys and eyebrow hearing his tone. "Am I supposed to know who you are? I'm Claire." She said shrugged before continuing her pace towards her classroom. Hearing his request she laughed, "Get in line with the rest." She told him pointing towards a lot of the guys that were watching her. "I don't go on dates." She told him before making her way into her classroom. She sat down and sighed getting a notebook out ready for her Chemistry class. She popped her back gently before blinking seeing Jackson come into the room and sighed groaning slightly.

Claire raised an eyebrow at him hearing him and just sighed hearing him. "I already told you I don't go on dates." She sighed hoping that her fourth block came soon since her fourth block was her soccer block. There she could just play until her heart's content and not worry about anyone. She sighed hearing him, "Yes. I have, thank you." She then ran a hand throughout her hair and continued to write notes as the teacher began to speak. She assigned lab partners and Claire found that Jackson was her's. She nodded gently, not minding as long as he stopped trying to ask her on a date. She didn't know what she would do if this became a daily occurrence.

Claire sighed when he finally left her alone and simply studied the board before filling out the little questionnaire the teacher had given them to do, wanting to know more about the students. Claire frowned tapping her pen against the desk gently trying to find an answer for some of the questions that she found to be a little too personal, or rather a little to inquiring about the students. She didnt quite know why a teacher would need this information. She finished up before laying it on her desk and taking out her book and letting her eyes flutter to the words covering the paper.

Claire saw him pull out a book and noticed it was the third book in Game of Thrones and was a little surprised before letting her eyes wander back to her own book as she read quickly. She bit her lip as she did so, blocking out the sounds and things of reality. She wanted to lose herself in her book and be able to go into a different world where everything made a little more sense. She was three fourths through with the book and was trying to reach her goal of finishing the first one today and starting the second one. She blinked hearing someone calling her name and saw it was one of the players on the boys' soccer team and saw him pass her a note and smiled softly. She read it before frowning softly and shaking her head at him apologetically. She circled no to his question. His name was Kyle and he was sweet, but she was keeping her word. She didn't go on dates. He had asked her to Homecoming.

Claire didn't meet his eyes and just decided to keep herself from looking at him not wanting to see his reaction to her saying no. She wasn't interested in someone being mad at her because of her decision. She heard something and looked down seeing Jackson's note. She frowned before seeing it and sighed reading the note and looked at him questioningly. "What are you wanting?" She asked.

Claire blinked listening to him letting her teeth wander to her bottom lip as she listened to him. "Okay. Where and when? She asked him softly. "You have to actually give me effort." She told him blinking when she suddenly had like three people asking for help. She signed and said, "None of you wanted help before he asked so no." She said stubbornly. She turned back to Jackson and looked at him waiting for a response.

Claire nibbled at her lip as she listened to him and frowned when she heard him. She knew it was better for people to study in places they were comfortable in, but she wasn't quite sure if she would be comfortable. She shook it off before nodding. "Here." She murmured writing her numbed on his arm. Every guy in the guy turned to glare at Jackson eyeing his arm as they did so. "Just text me your address." She murmured running a hand throughout her silvery hair.

Claire simply nodded while she ran a hand through her hair finding comfort in touching her soft hair. She didn't notice most of the other guys glaring daggers through Jackson at the moment. She popped her neck before hearing him and nodded, "Alright." She murmured gently before hearing the bell ring. She waved before standing up to go to gym class. She didn't know it he had it too but she knew she needed the class right now. She needed to clear her mind.
