Jughead’s eyes moved from the teacher and onto Melody when she asked about his sister and Archie, it was something that he chose to ignore. He wasn’t against the idea of his two best friends dating, but he also felt weird thinking of his sister dating anyone. “It’s obvious to everyone how those two feel for each other, the only people who don’t see that is them.” He glanced over to where Mia and Archie were sitting, he knew his sister hadn’t told the redhead everything that had happened over the summer and it was causing tension to rise between them.

“As much as I don’t want Mia dating anyone, I do know Archie would make her happy. But who he’s friends with, also doesn’t ease my mind.” Jug didn’t want Mia near the likes of Reggie and Chuck, he didn’t trust them so he wanted his sister as far away from them as possible. “I guess we’ll have to see if they do act on their feelings,” Archie had never come to him asking him about Mia, but he knew Archie did in fact hold stronger feelings for his twin sister.
Mia glanced over at the teacher and started to copy the notes from the board into her book, “He will once you two start talking again. I know you two are both stubborn, but I also know you can work it out.” She smiled as she looked at Archie, her brother would be fine once they talked to each other and everything was explained. She wasn’t sure when that would happen or who would make the first move, she hoped for their sake that it happened soon, so they could go back to how they were before the summer break.

Mia wanted to tell Archie everything, but she couldn’t bring herself to. She wasn’t ashamed of her Dad or the Serpents, she just knew that Archie wouldn’t see it in a good light. He always did the right thing, so her Dad now being a criminal in a gang wasn’t something that he would ever agree with. So it would stay a secret that was only between herself and Jug, her eyes moved back to the board at the front of the room as she continued to write down the notes that the teacher was going over with the class.

Archie nodded his head, he knew he was going to have to talk to Jug sooner or later, he was going to have to do something because what happened over the break was eating him up. He had been meaning to talk to Ms Grundy but every time he went to her she shut him down and hurried away from him.

Archie looked over at Jug and was startled to find the new girl staring in their direction there was a smile spread across her face however it was a mischievous grin. He arched his brow at her and she turned her attention away from him. She leant over and whispered something to Jug.

"The new girl really seems to be getting on with Jughead." Archie said leaning over to Mia who was busy writing down the notes off the board, Archie was doing it as well but not quiet as quickly due to now wanting to know what the new girl was saying to Jughead.
Melody listened to Jughead nodding her head along, she could understand where he was coming from, she had only had one encounter with Reggie and she didn't want to be around him because of his sleaziness and ability to make people uncomfortable. Melody watched Archie and Mia a smile spreading across her face, the red head turned to look at her so she diverted her attention and whispered to Jughead.

"Maybe I could try speeding up the process... even if it is just admitting their feelings. The tension between them can be cut with a knife... wanna help me? I mean I know it is your sister and all but come on it will be fun... don't you think?"

Jughead looked at Melody, “I don’t really see how setting my sister up will be fun. But I’ll do what I can, just so I don’t have to watch them pine over each other any longer. Their making me want to pull my hair out,” He admitted as it probably would be weird for him watching his sister and best friend grow even closer, but they were wasting time not being together. And if he had to listen to Mia complain one more time, he would go insane.

“Have anything in mind?” He lowered his voice as he didn’t want the teacher to catch them talking, when they were supposed to be focusing on the class. He just hoped that having their father be a Serpent didn’t ruin anything for either of them. He wasn’t sure how Archie would take the news, and Jughead was enjoying his time spent with Melody. What if she didn’t approve of what his father was?

It wasn’t like his dad was going to stop being a Serpent, he hadn’t so far. Jughead didn’t see how his dad got sucked in so quickly, he had a good family which he tossed aside. Why did he want to be a part of another one?
Mia glanced over at Archie, before her eyes moved over onto her brother and Melody. “Yeah, they are. It’s about time he let someone else in,” She knew her brother tended to keep everybody on the outs, she did the same thing as well as it stopped them from getting hurt or having someone find out too much about them. But Mia liked Melody, she felt like Melody wouldn’t judge them if she did stick around long enough to find out how messed up their family life was.

Her eyes landed on Archie again and saw how distracted he was, “Let them be. We’ll see them after class,” She told him quietly as she focused back on taking notes for the class, something that Archie should be doing as well.

Archie nodded at Mia but his eyes stayed on the two of them, it was good to see that Jug had let someone else in, and she had only been in this place for an hour. His eyes moved on from the two and before he could concentrate on his work he saw Ms Grundy walk passed the classroom and he suddenly wanted to leave and talk to her however he knew there was no way he was going to be able to get out of the classroom. He would have to wait till next period or lunch break.

Instead he turned his attention to the work he was supposed to be doing and began scrawling down the notes that were on the board. However his mind instantly went back to Grundy and how he really needed to talk to her.
"Hmmmm...." Melody thought to herself, there were so many ways but which way would she use. However the more she looked at Archie the more she noticed that he seemed unsettled, as something was playing in his mind. Gently elbowing Jughead she whispered.

"What's eating Archie? He seems kinda unsettled," as much as she wanted to get Mia and Archie together she had a feeling that there was something that was blocking that from happening.

(No problem! I’m going to skip ahead to lunch in reply.)

Jughead looked to Melody and shrugged his shoulders, “No idea. I haven’t spoken to him since before the summer break,” He had no idea what was going on with his old best friend, part of him didn’t care at all, but then another part of him did. Especially if he was trying to mend things with Mia, he didn’t want Archie hurting his sister more than he already has done when he baled on them. “I’m sure it’s probably nothing,” Jug brushed it off like it was nothing, it wasn’t Jug’s problem.

As the day dragged on, Jughead shared a few more classes with Melody and in between classes, he showed her around the best he could with the limited time they had before their next class started. Finally lunch time rolled around, he grabbed his food from his locker and waited for Melody to get her own lunch. He then showed her the sporting field and where the Riverdale Vixens practised, “If you wanted to try out, you’ll have to impress Cheryl.” He pointed out in case Melody did want to try out for the cheerleading team, he wouldn’t care if she did, all he knew was she’d be the hottest one on the team and she’d be stunning in the uniform.
Mia had felt something was off with Archie during their first class, she didn’t ask him or bring it up, she wasn’t sure he’d even give her an honest answer. She found herself sitting at the table outside eating her lunch, she was waiting for Jughead to finish showing Melody parts of the school that she hadn’t seen yet. It was a nice day so Mia wanted to sit outside and get some fresh air, before being stuck inside the classroom until school finished for the day.

Surprising the first day back after the summer break had gone fairly soothly, of course Jason Blossom was the hot topic for everyone. Not that Mia joined in or cared, she never had much to do with Jason, but she still didn’t like him. Simply because he was one of the many jocks that decided to make Jughead’s life hell during school.

    (AWESOME!)

The lunch bell rang and Archie headed straight for where he knew he would find Grundy, her classroom. He avoided anyone who may know him and when he came to her door he saw that she was in there. He didn't knock instead he walked straight in.

"We need to talk," was all he said, it was the truth, they needed to talk about what had happened at Sweet Water River, what they had heard. It had been eating him up since that day but it was like she didn't want to talk about it, as if she simply wanted to sweep it under the rug and forget that it happened. But now that Jason's body had been found there was no way this could be forgotten. Archie stood before the woman, his teacher, the woman he had been having a secret relationship with since the beginning of the summer. The secret he was keeping from his friends.

"No we don't Archie," she answered her tone was even and quiet and she didn't lift her gaze to look at him, instead she continued writing in her notepad. Frustrated Archie snatched the notepad away from her.

"Yes we do, We need to talk about what we heard at Sweet Water River, we need to tell someone Jason Blossom's body has been found and we are sitting on information."

"And how are we going to explain what the two of us were doing there? Have you thought about that Archie... I would lose my job if what we have got out." finally she got to her feet, she was staring so intently at Archie he began to second guess himself
Melody followed Jughead around as he continued to show her around the school in the allotted time he had been given before they had to return to their classes. Finally lunch came around and the two headed to their lockers before out to the sporting field. When Jughead mentioned joining the vixens Melody snorted.

"Sorry but that is a no go for me thank you," she shook her head, "I'm quite happy being a nobody," she smiled scanning the field before her eyes landed on Mia. "Hey isn't that Mia? We should go sit with her... Oh look there are others heading over there." Melody noticed that there was a blonde haired girl, another with raven hair and then a brown haired male. 'Are they your friends?" the brunette asked turning to look at Jughead as they slowly made their way toward the group. Surprisingly there was no fiery haired Archie.

    (Sorry if this reply sucks!)

Jughead wouldn’t have minded either way, if Melody wanted to try out to be a Vixen then he would support her, and if that wasn’t what she was interested in then he would again support her. He found himself biting down on his tongue to stop himself from saying the words that he had wanted to, that Melody wasn’t a nobody, at least she wasn’t to him. Jughead never made friends easily, mostly because of where he lived and that everyone saw him as a freak. Melody was different, she didn’t seem to care about the labels that he had been given from the rest of the school body. She had already stood up for him against Reggie, and she barley knew him. That meant more to him, then she would ever realise.

Looking over to where his sister was sitting, he saw that Betty and Kevin were taking Veronica over to the table that they often sat at. “I wouldn’t really call them my friends,” He admitted even though Betty and Kevin had always been nice to him and Mia, he knew Mia may consider those two more like friends which was something Jughead wanted for his sister. He didn’t want her to be a loner like he was, or have her push everyone away like he has been. “Betty, Kevin” He looked at them once they had reached the table, “Veronica, right?” He looked to the raven-haired girl who he had met earlier that morning, he was pretty certain that was her name.

Jug sat on the table picking up half of Mia’s sandwich which she hadn’t eaten yet, Mia smiled when Betty and Kevin brought Veronica over to the table as she had always gotten along with Betty and Kevin. It wasn’t to long before she was also joined by her brother and Melody, however there was still no sign of Archie. Maybe he had realised that he couldn’t be a jock and be friends with the weirdo twins. “Hi, we haven’t met yet but I’m Kevin. And oh my god, you were amazing this morning in the hall with Reggie. You were on fire.” Kevin gushed the second that Melody had sat down at the table, he had wanted to meet her all morning but sadly hadn’t had any classes with her yet.

“It’s not often that Reggie is spoken to like that, it was the best thing I’ve ever seen.” Kevin couldn’t help himself as he looked at Melody, watching her and Reggie was better than any reality show that was on tv right now. Mia smiled as she remembered back to that morning, she did agree with Kevin, Melody had been amazing for what she did for her brother. That was something she would never forget about.

Melody arched her brows when Jughead said he would't really call the three friends but she simply shrugged it off before taking a seat next to Jughead, she watched as the dark haired male began to pick at his sisters food. She pulled out a plain jam sandwich and began to eat. As she looked over at Mia she could she was a little distracted. Was it because Archie hadn't arrived yet? she didn't get a chance to say anything before the new guy had introduced himself.

"Hi Kevin, Melody nice to meet you," she smiled widely, the male reminded her of and excited puppy bubbly and full of energy and life. "Oh yeah, that..." she could feel her cheeks reddening. "Well he deserved it he is a arsehole... is he always like that?" Melody questioned looking around at he group. That was when she noticed Archie heading toward the table, he looked pissed.
Archie was so frustrated and angry that he stormed out of Grundy's class and headed toward the field where he knew his friends would be. He was thinking to himself how he was going to address what had happened and how he would keep Geraldine out of it so she didn't lose her job. He had been so lost in his thoughts that he didn't see the football coming straight for his head. The ball hit with such a force that he stumbled. His ear ringing, looking up he saw Reggie was running toward him he was saying sorry but it was muffled.

"Sorry man, I thought you would have caught it," he apologised.

    {No it was fine... mine is a little on the short side sorry}

Jughead nodded his head to Melody’s question about Reggie, “He’s always like that. Always has been too,” He stated complexly honestly, most of the jocks were the same as Reggie. They all acted the way Reggie does on a daily basis, he knew that playing football tended to kill brain cells quickly, which explained a lot. Really, the only jock that Jughead could bare was Archie, but right now Jughead didn’t want much to do with his friend. “My advice is to just steer clear of him, then he can’t annoy you.” He advised Melody as he continued to eat his and Thea’s lunch, he hoped that Reggie also stayed away from Melody because he didn’t want him anywhere near her.

“He can be nice at times, he’s not really all that bad.” Betty spoke up in her usual good girl next door way, she couldn’t help it but defend anyone. Although, she did still agree with what Jughead said about Reggie. He wasn’t her favourite person at the high school, none of the jocks were, but she was certain they were still nice people deep down.
Thea’s eyes moved over the small group of friends that had formed around her, Jughead and Melody. She went to agree with her brother, until her eyes fell onto Archie who was crossing the football field. She wasn’t going to bother him until he made an effort with her, she knew something was on his mind and was taking up most of his time and energy. Until he either dealt with whatever was on his mind or he told her what was going on with him, she didn’t want to waste her time with him. However, that was until Reggie threw a football at the red head who clearly wasn’t paying attention, causing the football to hit Archie in the head.

“Excuse me,” She mumbled to the group as she stood up from the bench seat and started making her way over to where Archie and Reggie stood on the field, she could hear Reggie apologizing to the red head. “Are you okay?” She asked looking at Archie when she finally reached the two boys, she didn’t bother even looking at Reggie, she didn’t care if he stood there or walked away. Because she was there for Archie, to make sure he was okay.
