Zoe sighed when she saw that he still hadn't texted her. It had been a couple days now, and she put her chin on her hand as she stared out the window debating on whether she should just give up on it or not. After a month went by she just got so angry that she gave it up. She needed better taste in men.

Shaking her head, she emptied her mind about it turning over and going to sleep. She woke in the morning and got ready for school. She looked down at her outfit smiling softly knowing she didn't have to dance today and decided to just have a break. After class, she decided to go and get some tea from a cafe. She walked in and hummed softly pushing her bubblegum pink curls away from her face as she looked at the menu tapping her foot softly as she did so. She finally got to the register and ordered a green tea with a muffin figuring she might as well get something to eat. She opened her wallet handing them a card. When she got her stuff she thanked the person before going over and sitting down at a table sipping on her tea.

Lucas spent the next month dealing with rejection after rejection, in the job department. He was beginning to get despondent, he decided he should try take a day off his search and just relax. He was the polar opposite of Daniel, all put together and proper, he never wore leather, refused to leave his hair shaggy, or wear eyeliner.

He dressed in black dress pants, with a white dress shirt, like he usually did. But today he decided not to bother with a tie, instead opting for a casual looking waistcoat. He looked like a proper professional young male. He made his way to a cafe for lunch, he chose a cafe with a lovely view of the local campus, and a park. It would be lovely this time of year, with a spattering of snow left over from the night before.

Lucas found a table outside and ordered a black coffee, before taking a seat. He got lost in thought as he waited, until a young women walked in with bubblegum pink hear, wearing a lovely pink dress. He watched and waited, hoping she wasn't expecting company.

Zoe was glad she had decided to wear her hair up today and felt flouncy in her pink dress that was kind of revealing but kind of not. She sipped on her tea nibbling at the muffin as she pulled out a book crossing her legs as she began to read. Every so often she would bite in her muffin and eat a little bit of it, or raise her cup to her mouth to take a sip. A small smile played at her lips as she continued to read her book, biting down on her lip when she got to a fighting scene secretly rooting for her character. She stifled a laugh getting to a funny part.

Finally, she looked up after some time to find a handsome man staring at her dressed impeccably well. She blushed looking down not used to having people stare at her, especially not in front of a crowded cafe. She looked up and met his eyes with her own peridot ones and gave him a nice smile before raising her cup to her mouth sighing when she found that she was out of tea.

Standing up, she grabbed her wallet and headed back to the register asking for a refill smiling when they said that it was on the house. She thanked them before returning back to her table, taking a seat again and looking up again to meet the man's eyes once again. Something about those eyes screamed familiar, but she was sure she was just imagining things.

Lucas built up some courage, and decided to chance it, after all he had gotten used to being told no by now. He had taken note of the book she was reading, and not being massively familiar with it figured he might be able to use it to get her talking about it, and the genre. Lucas wasn't comfortable around other people, he found social interaction challenging, if he could pull off getting her talk about the book for a bit, it might help him relax into the situation a bit more.

He finished his coffee before he finally stood up. He made his way over to her table, once she'd sat back down. "Pardon me miss, but I couldn't help but notice you from across the room, would you like some company for awhile," he said as confidently as he could manage. He stood waiting for her response.

Looking up hearing a voice, Zoe was quite surprised by how he asked and gave him a smile and gave him a nod before saying, "I wouldn't mind to have company." She set her book down gesturing to the seat across from her and tilted her head as she watched him, her makeup allowing her peridot eyes to really pop against the darkness. She gave him another smile. Slightly wondernig what had made him interested in her to the point of looking at her across the room, she was rather intrigued.

Giving a soft laugh, she saw that his waistcoat was crooked and reached over gently fixing it for him before sitting back. "Sorry. OCD." She told him with a smile before saying, "I'm Zoe. What's your name?" She figured that that was as good as an introduction as ever considering there were sitting in a cafe. She

Lucas nodded and took the seat across from her. He smiled softly keeping his eyes on her face, loving how classically beautiful she was, he had of course noted her amazing body, but that was not what he'd been staring at, he was generally more interested in peoples faces, and personality rather than their bodies.

"Thank you," he mumbled when she fixed his waistcoat, he himself was also slightly OCD, liking things to be in their proper place all the time. He kept eye contact with her dazzling peridot eyes for another moment before finally introducing himself back, "nice to meet you Zoe, I'm Lucas."

Zoe took in his square jawline as well as his pretty hazel eyes, noting the fact that his hair was a little longer, but it was still very neat and smiled softly at him again thinking to herself that he was very handsome and seemed to be a very non bad boy type and she liked that for some reason. It was a nice change from her usual interest in boys.

"You're welcome." She replied liking the fact that he looked toned underneath his tight white shirt and waist coat. She was surprised that he kept eye contact with her and she held her hand out giving a dazzling pearly smile. "It's nice to meet you, Lucas." She said his name rolling off of her tongue like second nature. She waited for his response wondering if he was going to strike up conversation with her. She could already tell that he was a little shy, and her gaze softened slightly as she watched him putting her hands underneath her chin as she did so.

Lucas kept his eyes trained on her face, as he took her hand shaking it lightly. His eyes drifted to her earring and necklace momentarily before returning to her face and eyes. He was surprised someone as beautiful as her was actually giving him a chance.

"I couldn't help notice the book you were reading, what is that?" he asked sheepishly. "I've seen other people reading similar books, but don't know much about it," he added. He hoped she would mercifully indulge his not so smooth, and rather peculiar line of discussion for a little bit. He needed more time to build confidence.

Smiling she laughed and said, "It's called City of Bones. It's the first book in The Immortal Instruments series." She paused smiling before continuing, "It's about a girl named Clary, and she ends up getting sucked into the world with Shadowhunter, which are like demi angels, I suppose, but they fight demons and supernatural beings. Anyways, she ends up falling in love with Shadowhunter named Jace who is kind of an asshole, but in that whole "I'm secretly an angsty teen" kind of way." She laughed at her description before continuing.

"They end up having to find one of the Immortal Instruments to defeat this guy named Valentine who used to be a Shadowhunter but is now working for demons and is trying to get the demons to take over." She finished up and took a breath and before saying, "I'm not that good at descriptions, I'm sorry. I tried to summarize without giving too much away." She told him watching him with a smile. She had noticed a kind of tingle when she had touched him and kind of wanted to touch him again, but knew that she didn't know much about him and that would more than likely come across as weird. She ended up taking her crescent moon necklace in her hand and fidgeting with it.

Lucas nodded listening to her closely, his eyes glued on her face. "Oh that does sound really interesting, it had so many ideas and things to draw someone in," he answered. He paused, "would you recommend it?" he added. He wasn't a huge reader, but would finish a novel fairly quickly if it was good.

He noticed her begin fidgeting and wasn't sure how to take it, he figured he needed to change to topic. "So Zoe, what do you do? other than sit in cafe's reading and conversing with total strangers?" he asked. He finally let his eyes wander down to check out her cleavage, his pupils dilating the slightest amount at how amazing they looked in her subtle yet elegant dress. His eyes darted back to look at her again, and he blushed when her eyes were staring straight back at his, because he realised she had to have noticed.

Zoe smiled and nodded. "It does. Though, Game of Thrones is my favourite series at the moment." She admitted laughing. "I would recommend it." She told him nodding as she did so. "It's not that light of a read though, but it's not like over five hundred pages I don't believe." She told him having to keep her hands busy so that she didn't try and touch her hair not wanting to mess it up, since she had spent a little time on it this morning rather than just brushing it and going.

His question brought a laugh out of her as she shook her head and replied, "I dance. Basically, all I do. I'm majoring at the college nearby for it." She nodded before adding, "I don't normally get to dress casually or even fancy. Normally i'm in leggings and a t-shirt, maybe shorts when it's not so freezing." She told him. Seeing him look at her cleavage she pretended not to notice but smiled at his blush thinking it was cute. She chuckled before asking, "What about you?" She asked curious about him. "Please, don't let me just sit here wondering about you." She added giving him a wink as she continued to play with her necklace gently letting her legs go back and forth the tiniest amount underneath the table.

Lucas smiled softly glad it was going, by his estimation okay. His hands shifted and began fiddling with his empty cup in front of him. "Oh I will give it a chance then, I always like getting recommendations," he responded to her comments about the books.

He nodded as she discussed dancing, "Oh dance seems really interesting," he admitted softly. He sighed softly, "I hope this won't make you think less of me, but I want to be honest, I currently don't have a job, but I'm looking for one," he began. He watched for her reaction, before adding "but I don't really need a job, I have access to a sizeable trust set up by my parents."

Lucas was the only personality that had any knowledge of where the money and home came from. As well as any inkling of an issue, in that he actually knew he blackout for periods of time. The others were oblivious.

Zoe smiled softly and said, "I'd offer to let you borrow my book, but since we just met and I don't know you that well, I don't think it would be that good of an idea." She admitted before nodding. "Game of Thrones is good. I highly recommend that, but it is extremely long and has too many characters to count." She explained.

"I love it. Do you know how to dance?" Zoe asked him her mouth tilting up into a smile before blinking realising that that could be taken as an insult. She blushed immediatley. "I didn't mean any offense by that question." She blinked before hearing him and shook her head. "I appreciate the honestly, and you know, as long as you're trying to get a job, and making an effort I don't think it matters. As long as you're financially okay, and you're happy and making a conscious effort." She told him. "I'm here on a scholarship and am currently on vacation from my own work." She said before blushing again wondering why she had just told him that and watched him to see his reaction to her words. Her teeth eventually found her lip as she bit down on it but just enough to cause pressure.

Lucas smiled gently infinitely glad she hadn't taken it badly that he was unemployed. "Thank you for understanding, finding a job isn't easy," he expressed. He subconsciously bit his own lip when he noticed her doing it. He nodded gently, "well you must certainly be very good to be on scholarship, and to answer your question about me dancing, I'm afraid I can only Waltz," he admitted again. He was surprised he was being to open with her so easily.

He reached across the table and took her hand in his, "would you like another tea?" he asked politely, as he was considering ordering another coffee.

Zoe nodded in agreement and sighed, "Especially since the only places you can get a job are crappy ones where you DON'T want the job. No, I completely understand." She told him softly shaking her head. "Maybe you could get a job as a barista!" She said grinning softl before chuckling and blushed and said, "I don't like to boast or anything." She explained. Hearing him say that he could only waltz she raised an eyebrow before speaking, "That's a very odd dance to know. Not especially common, though, I suppose it's not a bad dance to know." She told him watching him.

Feeling his warm hand embrace her own, she slightly blushed again wondering what the hell was going on. She didn't normally feel like this with other guys. She looked down and said, "That would be wonderful. It's green tea." She told him, having noticed that he had looked extremely attractive biting on his lip.

Lucas grinned as she seemed to want to know more about why he knew how to waltz. He nodded at her gently, "Okay I'll be right back," he said lightly before standing and heading inside to order them more drinks. He came back shortly after and retook his seat, "they'll be right out with them," he noted.

Lucas paused for a second trying to think what they had been discussing, "Oh yeah, I learned to Waltz in school, for the short time I was actually there, for the formal dance," he said softly. His parents although he didn't know much about them because they had died while he was young, had stipulated that he attend a private school, for as long as he could. He blushed lightly again after once again catching himself looking in an inappropriate area.

Zoe saw his grin and smiled to herself thinking he looked far better when he wasn't worrying about something. She nodded watching him leave grinning to herself lightly while he was gone before just looked down at her book and putting it into her bag, figuring that she wouldn't be needing it now that she had someone to speak to, and he actually seemed genuinely curious about speaking with it. It made her happy.

Seeing him come back, she gave a nod to his words. "That's interesting, though I had many dance lessons, I don't think they once went over the waltz. I only learned it because my father said if I was going to be a dancer than I needed to learn the Waltz and the tango, but I learned that in another dancing class." She chuckled. She smiled softly watching him blush and chuckled. She figured she wouldn't comment on it, not wanting to embarrass him. She looked up when they came out with their drinks. She thanked the person before taking a sip and sighed. "I have an addiction to tea. It's become a problem." She told him laughing as she did so.

Lucas was mesmerised by the way her lips moved when she talked and how her eyes fluttered when she chuckled. He took a sip of his own drink, "Well, private schools are a little odd," he admitted. He was clearly becoming more comfortable, starting to smile wider, and he sat down in a more relaxed posture. He watched her, "Better than an addiction to something else though, so I wouldn't worry too soon," he told her.

He had noticed her chuckle as he blushed again, he was beginning to think she had noticed him checking her out. The thought was ill advised because straight away his eyes drifted again to test his theory. Almost as quickly as he'd relaxed he tensed, "uh.. sorry for um... you know," he stammered lightly.

Zoe just watched his facial features, intrigued by all of him and she couldn't understand why, she just knew that she was. "Ahh." She said finally understanding. "I gotcha now. I was like, that's a little odd for a public school, but that makes much more sense." She told him playing with her necklace once again knowing that her dress was a little revealing, but she figured since she was young she might as well wear what she wanted to. "It's an addiction nonetheless." She pointed out smiling as he started to smile and become more comfortable with her.

She saw him look down and laughed hearing him. "Not the first time, and certainly won't be the last. At least i'm attractive enough for someone to be looking there." She added giving him a wink as she sat back in her chair drinking from her cup. "So what sort of things are you interested in?" She asked him wanting to know more about this mysterious stranger that she had just met.

Lucas looked back up, "I'm glad I didn't offend you, I know it must get tiresome talking to guys who won't look you in the face, because they're to busy looking elsewhere," he commented. He looked her in the eyes again trying to relax once again, now that she had told him she sort of took it as a compliment.

He took another sip of coffee, "well I'm pretty boring, hence why I want a job when I don't need one," he admitted. He thought for a second, "I like art, and music, been to every museum, art gallery and auction house in the area," he added. He wondered what her opinion on art was, some people loved it, some people pretended they love it thinking its what you're supposed to say, and the others don't see the value in it.
