Lorcan walked past the greenhouses, greeting students who had just had their first classes of the year in Herbology. He smiled to a group of girls who passed him as they giggled. He rolled his eyes at them as he continued his walk towards his small hut at the outskirts of the forbidden forest. He felt the slight tingle all over his body as it started to morph. The air around him blurred and he landed down on all fours in the shape of an arctic fox. His limbs started moving in a steady trot down the trail.

He watched as the Whomping Willow slightly swayed in the wind, he made sure he wasn't anywhere near it's long deadly branches, although he knew nothing major would happen. Lorcan and the Willow had respect for one another, something he had gained the last couple of years due to it being his neighbor. Of course he couldn't communicate with it, but he often found himself cleaning the area around the Willow, making sure there was no weeds growing. He also went after critters that dared to get close to the Willow eating it's small nutrious roots in his Fox shape. He knew the Willow enjoyed the extra attention, but there was always a limit. He had gotten his fair share of whooping from the tree.

One of the windows were open, and he quickly jumped in through it, morphing back to his human form. He went into his small cellar and started bringing out books to a small table that was put in a clearing inside the Forbidden Forest, setting up for the next class he was having. He enjoyed teaching in care of magical creatures. It was an honor to work with absolutely extraordinary creatures without a limit as to how hands on he could get.

[please tell me if this is good, i don't know if this is where you were going with it, but i will happily change anything you might have a problem with!]

Credence found amazement everywhere he looked. That was the latest state of his being, he knew, to be shocked and surprised by every turn that happened. Mr. Scamander had taken his battered and bruised body, bringing him across the sea to a magical school and it was everything he wanted. To be somewhere he belonged. But as they entered the odd alley that opened up into a shopping center, Diagon Alley if he remembered correctly, he quickly found that it was much too good to be true. The stares he got, as if they knew he didn't belong, as if they saw the sinful nature that was hidden behind a pale and small frame. He carefully hid himself away from all the other magical wizards and such, trying not to pay attention to the darkness that growled and rumbled beneath his skin.

There was only one other time that it was released since the atrocities that happened in New York (and he only knew that because he scrambled to pick the big word apart, eventually asking Newt what the meaning of it was), when they were on a ship bound for London. Newt was able to calm him down, somehow, and he would eternally be grateful for it. It would have been too much to bare if Credence had hurt more innocent people.

Newt explained to him over tea, which Credence never much cared for as he sipped the scolding liquid slowly, that he would be going to Hogwarts. That there was in fact a magical school that wanted Credence to be there, but of course only so that they could monitor the object inside of him, a fancy word he could never remember. Fancy words were much more common with wizards than he imagined, but it made a fair bit of sense. So, as Credence stepped into the magical school with his blue clad savior, he knew that this was his best chance at survival, to avoid hurting more people than he had to.

"Now, Credence," Newt spoke as they walked up the stairway, and Credence had to look solely at the ground to not jump out of his skin as pictures before them moved around and spoke. It was much too fantastic for him. "We are going to be meeting with Dumbledore, he is a professor here. This will be your safe haven for a while, just until I can confirm to the council that you are not a harm to society. He will be able to hide you from everyone far better than I could."

@ healy. I wasn't going anywhere to be honest! Sorry! I probably should have Facepalm It was perfect, to be honest, I was just leading up to maybe Credence having his first lesson with Lorcan, but him meeting Credence first with Dumbledore could work out. I think Lorcan is gonna be somewhat Prof. Quirrell-esque, as in he's very everywhere and kind of rambly and forgetful. So he totally forgot he was supposed to accompany Dumbledore. Hope this was okay!//

Lorcan took his time making everything look neat. Not that it was gonna stay that way, but it made him feel good that everything was in the right place. He admired his work and dug into his coat pocket to find a small watch. His eyes widened and he almost started laughing, he was early. Not even a tad early, but a whole hour early. He decided to go inside just to have a small bite before students would come running in.

He sat down at the small round dining table with a sigh. He sat there for a few seconds and looked around, a small note which he had read earlier was still there, his eyes ran over the words. He froze. How could he have forgotten? No wonder he had heaps of time before class. He was supposed to meet with Dumbledore to greet Mr. Scamander and the Obscurus. No, he shouldn't talk about the boy like that.

The chair was pushed back with a screech, which made his skin crawl. The feeling didn't stop till Lorcan was fully transformed into a fox, it was an odd sensation, but he enjoyed it. It made him feel free. He arched his furry back and leaped out the window landing elegantly on the ground outside. He didn't waste any time running up to the castle at full speed, praying that they weren't in Dumbledores quarters yet. It would seem awfully unprofessional to not be there before Scamander and Credence.

Running at full speed while making sure he didn't fall up the stairs seemed to be a bigger challenge than Lorcan had expected. The paintings around him laughed and pointed at him as he struggled up the stairs. A slight sense of victory ran through him when he saw Credence and Scamander still on the staircase. He noticed how they missed a staircase which was moving away from them.

Lorcan wasn't going to wait so he took a chance and jumped the slightly bigger distance than what the human body would be able to jump. He looked back and nodded to Scamander who most likely already knew he was an Animagus. He had never met Scamander, but he knew he was a smart guy. He was a former teacher of care of magical creatures. He didn't stay looking for long as he continued his climb.

He finally reached the door that belonged to the well-respected professor. The door was opened before he had the chance to transform and was let in by Dumbledore. When inside he quickly rose as a person and greeted Dumbledore with a firm handshake. ''I'm so sorry sir, I was so caught up in setting up my lesson, I completely forgot,'' he said almost out of breath. Dumbledore held up a hand, ''you're here now, don't you worry. They should be here soon.'' The professor offered him a small bowl, ''Licorice snaps?'' Lorcan looked at the content and picked one up, noticing how it squirmed and tried to bite him. He quickly threw it into his mouth and chewed it, not giving it a chance to bite him. It wasn't long till a few knocks were planted on the door, and with a flick of his wand he opened up the door, revealing Credence and Scamander.

As something ran past their feet, Credence jumped slightly as the orange blurb scattered ahead of them. It wasn't like the animals in New York where only alley cats and the occasional dog roamed the street in search for food. He was never a fan of those animals, they constantly growled and hissed at him for almost no reason. It was as if they were able to sense the evil bellowing inside him, the rancid magic that was never going to amount to anything. Mr. Graves, just the name sent shivers down his spine, had solidified his own opinion of himself. He was nothing but a bad witch who could never properly do the one thing he yearned to do. To ignore Ma's words about how he was dirty and unclean, but no matter how hard he scrubbed the blood still remained on his hands.

"I believe that was Lorcan," Newt spoke, making Credence straighten up his back and look determinedly at the man. He hung off the older man's words like nothing before, as if he was the true prophet and he was a devoted follower. "He is going to help Dumbledore with you. I've never personally met him, he's a few years younger than me, you see, but he is very good at his teachings from what I have heard."

"You speak of the animal as if he's a person," Credence whispered, skeptical of the portraits who watched them walk by. It was all too much, Mr. Graves never showed him this side of magic and he only saw the way the pain on his palms and back were healed. Always healed at a cost, never for free, for he wasn't magical enough to be worth anything. Credence shook his head slightly, desperate to escape his own head because he could not have a breakdown as he normally did in the dead of night.

"He is a wizard. Just an Animagus, someone who can turn into an animal on a whim. When I was younger I wished I could turn into an animal, but I guess it just seemed like too much work," was the reply he got offhandedly. It was delivered so carelessly that Credence supposed the Animangus just were not impressive, something that was a waste, but he couldn't help the wander and amazement that lingered in his mind at the information. A true shapeshifter, how exciting, he thought as they made their way to a sturdy door. Newt didn't hesitate to knock, politely waiting for the door to be opened and as it was.

"Professor Dumbledore, Professor Lorcan, it's nice of you to meet with us on such short notice," Newt said, purposefully averting his eye contact from the two as he gingerly directed the teen to have a seat before returning to the two other gentlemen to shake their hands. Even though Credence had not known the magizoologist for long, there was still a silent understanding between the two of them. Newt realized where his boundaries were and the less words Credence was asked to speak, the better off Credence felt. The less likely he was to become harmful.

Lorcan smiled as Newt shook his hand, ''glad to have you both here,'' he said while looking over at Credence. The boy was silent, but Lorcan didn't mind it, he would start talking in his own time. It was quite amusing that there was such a difference between himself and Lorcan visually. Where Lorcan's features were white as snow, Credence's was black as the night. He couldn't help but stare at the boy, wondering how it felt to be the host of such a horrible parasite.

Newt and Dumbledore went back and forth about when Newt was a student. Lorcan only listened with half an ear, not very interested in the conversation. Instead, he walked over beside Credence with the bowl of licorice snaps in hand. He offered a small smile to Credence and shook the bowl a little, ''you want one?'' He tilted the bowl towards Credence, ''They're pretty good. Just bite them quickly or you might lose your tongue,'' he blinked and chuckled.

Dumbledore cleared his throat which made Lorcan look up, both Newt and Dumbledore were observing the two of them. ''Lorcan, could you take Credence with you for your lesson and show him around a bit, and then come back here when it's over?'' Dumbledore asked as he looked at Lorcan over his glasses.

Lorcan nodded and quickly asked something he had been wondering, ''What about his sorting? What house will he be in, I don't think the sorting hat will be very pleased.''

''That is what Mr.Scamander and I will discuss, and when you return to us, we will have an answer.'' Dumbledores eyes found Credence and nodded, ''we are very happy to have you here, Credence. Now off you go.''

Before exiting Dumbledores quarters, Lorcan put the bowl back on the desk and waited for Credence in the doorway.
