See You Again

Riley sat at the table eating her breakfast, "okay so I have the consultation later in the week - do you think you can go with me? If not I can get a nurse to escort me," she said as she sipped her smoothie. This appointment was everything to her, to be able to see for the first time in years? Thats what she wanted more than anything. Standing up she made her way to the sink and used her cane to make her way to her fridge. "what time is it? we should leave soon if we want to go shopping,"

"Of course, I start at my job on wednesday, so as long as it's early morning or late afternoon?" She offered, sipping her protein shake. "Are you excited?" She asked her, setting her phone down onto the table and smiling a little.

"I am excited," she said as she reached for her water bottle in the fridge. Once she felt the texture of it she grabbed it, "I just want to get it done though, if this works I can be normal," she said as she shut the fridge and set her water bottle in her purse. "I won't have to depend on you so much,"

"Then what will I have to do?" She sighed, shaking her head. "And you're already normal, stop that. More normal than me, I'm still getting over that whole awkward phase where I freeze up and stuff." She murmured.

A small smile curved her lips, "It's ease mom and dad's mind too, you can actually have a social life without making sure I don't trip over curbs," she said as she reached onto the table feeling for her keys. Her blindness wasn't dark, it was just very blurry - she'd had lasik done three times and it failed to help. So now she dealt with it - till the experimental surgery, she hoped it worked.

"AND I can go on dates alone then and not pick a potential husband who isn't... great in the looks department... who knew a blind girl could still be shallow," she sighed dramatically.

She sighed. "Well, then you'll be able to see all of the men interested in you, and then maybe set me up," She grinned a little. "Besides, good looks are nice. A lot of the guys here are really good looking too."

She shrugged a little, "I haven't dated in a while, in four months time I could have a super ambitious sexy man by my side," she said with a sigh, "not getting my hopes up though, come on I want to go shopping - I need more shirts cause.. I don't want to do laundry; and only you can pick them out,"

"Don't worry, we can go now," She smiled a little, standing up. "Come on I think theres a plaza nearby," She said, standing up and grabbing her keys. "We can go check out that new store over by the fountain."

Nodding a little she smiled as she grabbed her walking cane, surprisingly people weren't too bad; often they'd run into her and yell at her so she took to not wearing sun glasses so they could see the haze over her eyes. It was either that or wearing a sign in korean that said; IM BLIND.

"I'd say I want something cute but I wouldn't know," she snorted a little as they walked outside.

"Don't worry all of your clothes are cute." She snorted. "I wouldn't ever let you go walking around looking ugly," She teased, holding open the door and heading down to her car. She helped her to the passengers side and climbed in, pulling out to drive to the mall.

She collapsed her walking stick and placed in her lap as she pulled the seatbelt on, "I don't know, you might if you were pissed at me for some reason," she whined as she fiddled with the stereo.

"Well I still have to be seen with you," She mumbled. "Not like it matters, I'm rarely seen by anyone." She said, sighing dramatically as she drove. "You look great in blues and purples. They're similar to each other. Deeper shading, except one is similar to cold. The other one I would describe as like mist, or like...dew...?" She asked, attempting to explain to her.

She nodded a little as she smiled a bit, "Like the one I wore for mom and dads anniversary party?" she said as she furrowed her brow trying to remember what color she'd said it was. "And I'm sure you're seen by many people, just not me," she said jokingly as she sighed.

"No one important. You're the only one who actually sees me anyway." She grinned. "And sorta. The dress you wore then was like purple except much brighter. Called lavender, think that same mist except with brightness."

Riley nodded again, "Hm, okay you'll have to teach me colors when I can see again," she said as she tapped her fingers on her legs, "I've been listening to a new audio book, it's really good it's the hunger games," she said to her grinned. "Finally found a voice I like,"

"Yeah? I love that book. I still need to finish maze runner," She grinned, pulling in and parking. "Alright, we're here. There's a car on the other side, but not too close, someone doesn't know how to park." She told her, getting out of the car.

She nodded a little as she extended her cane then opened her door after unbuckling then feeling for the car before opening the door and carefully getting out. "Okay," she smiled shutting the door, her cane sweeping across the ground so she knew when to step over something. "So whats this store called?" she asked her.

"Uniqlo," She smiled a little, walking inside and taking her arm. "Come on, we can check out some of he stuff on the womens floor."

Yixing smiled a little as he got into the elevator, noticing two people coming over. "Oh, hang on." He said, holding the elevator open for them.

She walked with her as she held her arm still tapping her cane a bit to know what was in front of her, "I'll be happy when I dont need this thing anymore," she snorted a little. Riley had remembered just how sad she'd been after each lasik when it didnt work - she'd often cried herself to sleep because of it. Though she knew that this surgery might not work, she had hope that it would. "Thank you," she said to the person who'd held the elevator open for them.
