“Nah, George would slaughter me.” Jordon laughed.

Jayda followed Nova. “You okay, boo?” She asked her best friend.

"Jordon, I swear to god. I WILL slaughter you." George said glaring at Jordon.

Jorel snickered.

"NOT FUNNY." George pointed behind him at Jorel while still glaring at Jordon.

Nova wiped her mouth off and took a deep breath.

"Yeah, must've ate something bad." She said, smiling a bit.

“Or you’re preggers.” Jayda teased her best friend and handed her a bottle of water.

“Dude trust, she’s not pregnant.” Jordon said.

“That you know of.” Dylan said.

“Y’all stop.” Emily laughed, shaking her head.

"Don't curse me woman." Nova laughed before taking a drink of the water.

"You guys have sex right?" Jorel asked.
"Do you protect yourselves?" He snickered.

"GUYS. I don't wanna hear this. She isn't pregnant." George sighed.

Jayda giggled. “You know I love you.” She said.

“Of course we do and nah, protection is for losers.” Jordon said.

Emily shook her head while Dylan chuckled.

George walked over to Jordon. He grabbed him back his shirt.

“I swear to god, if she’s pregnant and you bail I will personally find you and skin you alive, are we clear?” He said sternly.

“George, I’m not fucking pregnant.” Nova said pushing him off of Jordon.

“Can we just keep moving? We’re close.” She said all huffy and puffy.

Jordon held his hands up in defense, “she’s not pregnant bro and if she was, you know I wouldn’t bail.” He said.

“Babe stop threatening my brother and come on.” Jayda said, grabbing George’s hand.

“Nova’s right, we’re close, lets keep going.” Emily said.

"You're lucky your sisters holding me back. ILL GO APE SHIT." George said, pretending to leap.

"George, shut up. You aren't going to do shit." Nova laughed.

Jorel shook his head and laughed.

"I can feel us getting closer." Jorel said as they all continued their journey for a few more miles.

"Is that a sign?" George asked pointing in front of them

“I think so!” Jayda said and took off running to it.

Once everyone caught up, she removed the brush covering it and they all cheered. “Yes!” They cheered. Town was only 30 miles away.

As they cheered and high fived, Jayda stopped when she heard low growling. She looked back and saw a pack of wild dogs.

“Guys..” She said, grabbing her brother’s arm.

The cheering slowly stopped as the growling got louder. “What do we do?” Emily asked.

“We run on threee. One. Two. Three.” Jordon said.

Jayda, Emily and Nova got separated and Jayda ended up tripping. She let out a scream as one of the dogs bit into her leg.

“Jayda!” Emily screamed.

Jayda blocked her face as another dog bit into her arm.

“Jayda!” George yelled taking a hammer out of his bag and ran towards the screams of Jayda.

Once he got closer he seen Jayda being attacked. He lifted his hand back and let out a war cry. He swung cracking the dogs head who was latched to Jaydas leg. As the dog yelped, George kept swInging and swinging.
He stopped and took a deep breath before swinging the hammer again hitting the dog that was latched to Jaydas arm, knocking it off. The dog growled and jumped on George barking ferociously in his face. The only thing stopping the dog from ripping his face off, was the hammer.

“Jayda! Run!” He grunted.

Nova kept running not looking back, fearing a dog was behind her.
She stopped and hid behind a tree. She didn’t hear anything but her pounding heart beating out of her chest.
“Fuck.” She said panting.
“Now I’m fucking lost.” She sighed.
She turned around to check and see if any of the dogs were following. All of a sudden she heard a growing from the other direction. She slowely turned, and seen one of the dogs in front of her.
“Alright dog, lets fucking play.” She said taking the other hammer out of her homemade utility belt.
The dog barked, leaping at her and just in time, she swung the hammer knocking the dog in the face and slid across the ground.
Nova walked over and hovered over the injured dog.
“Alpha dog my ass.” She said before smashing the dogs face in until it moved no more.
She sighed.
“What the fuck do I do now..”

Emily helped Jayda up but it was hard for her to run because of her leg being messed up now. Emily managed to get her to safety though. She sat her down, ignoring the whines of the dogs as they were being killed.

Emily ripped some of her shirt off and lifted Jayda’s pant leg, glad the bite on her leg wasn’t too bad. She wrapped the piece of cloth around it.

Her arm was worse. Dylan joined them a moment later. “Shit.” He said, taking his flannel off. “Em, here.” He said, tossing it to her. Emily grabbed a bottle of water and poured it on the wound, getting the blood off. Jayda hissed as Emily wrapped the flannel around it.

“They’re dead.” Jordon said. He saw his sister along with emily and Dylan but Nova was missing. “Where’s Nova?” He asked. “Nova!” He called, walking around.

George sighed walking up to Dylan and Emily who were patching up Jayda.
He wiped his nose off, all he smelt was the smell of copper.
He painted.
“How she doing?” He asked breathing a bit heavily.
Jorel came out of the woodworks.
“You guys okay?” He asked walking up to the group.
“Shit Jayda, are YOU okay?” He continued.

Nova could hear Jordons voice from afar. She turned towards it and began walking. Drops of blood dropped from her face. But it wasn’t her blood.
She slowely walked out of the woods behind the group of people and Jordon who had been calling her name.
“I’m right here..” she tried to yell but her body was still in shock.

“I’m fine!” Jayda snapped. She wasn’t fine, she was in shock. Her biggest fear was being mauled by a dog and that’s exactly what happened.

“She’s just in shock, her leg is okay but I can already tell she’s going to need stitches in her arm..” Emily explained.

Jordon frowned whenever Emily was talking about Jayda needing stitches and then he spotted Nova. “Nova!” He went running off towards her.

“Are you okay? Whose blood is that?” He asked, wiping her face off.

George sighed and walked away lighting up a cigarette. He looked up to see Jordon running after his sister who was covered in blood.
He smirked.
He knew she could handle herself. This was just confirmation.

Nova shook her head.
"I'm fine, i'm fine."

She looked at herself and sighed.

"That poor doggos blood." She pouted.
"I killed it."

Emily and Jorel helped Jayda stand up. “Think you can walk?” Emily asked her.

“Yeah, I’ll be fine.” Jayda said.

“You killed it in self defense, remember that.” Jordon said and hugged her. “Jayda got hurt..” he said.

Nova sighed and looked over at Jayda, before running towards her.
"Jayda!" She called out.
"You okay?"

George took another hit of his cigarette and exhaled.
"She's a little... Grumpy." He smirked, before rolling his eyes.

Jordon chuckled and followed them. He got his own cigarette out.

Nova stared at her and smiled.
“We’re going to get you help.”

“We’re close.” George said and they travelled along.

It didn’t take much longer before they finally started seeing some signs of life. By this time Jordon was carrying his sister because the wound in her leg was causing her too much pain to walk.

“We need to try to flag a car down.” Emily said as they approached the highway.

Nova got excited.
“I’ll try.”
She ran up on the side of the road and began waving and yelling.
George looked at Jayda and did the same thing.
“Stop please! Help!”
Nova stood there shouting.

A car finally
Stopped.
