“Was it? Abby went to go make breakfast.” Jorel said, moving past them as he pulled a shirt on. “Abby!” He called.

“What’s goung on?” Dylan asked as he and eventually Danny came out. “Front door was open this morning.” Alex said. “I thought I closed it when I went to bed last night.” Danny said.

(Should it be zombies or someone broke in? )

Abby stopped and looked when Jorel walked in the kitchen, “What?” She said quietly.

“Well this is great, we’re all pretty sure the door was shut and Alex saw it was open this morning,” George said as he followed Jorel towards the kitchen.

“Come here. Alex said the door was open...we need to stick together until we figure out what it is.” Jorel said.

Alex stayed by George and Jorel. “If someone broke in, wouldn’t they have come out by now?”

(Zombie)

“I know where it is,” Abby motioned to the hall on the other side of the kitchen. “I could hear it when I was cooking, get the others and tell them to come here.”

George nodded, “You’d think so, unless they knew we were here and they’re trying to surprise us...” Hearing Abby say it was on the other side of the kitchen, he looked at Jorel, “Should we go check it out?”

“We’ll go, you guys stay here.” Jorel told the girls. “Can we stay here too?” Danny asked. “No, you’re the reason we’re in this mess.” Jorel said.

Alex stood back with Abby as the guys headed towards the noise. “What do you think it is?” She asked her friend quietly.

Abby shook her head, “I think it’s a zombie...that’s what it sounded like anyway.”

George grabbed the bat from Abby and started walking towards the noise. He didn’t want to use a gun in case it was a zombie and then it would just attract more.

“Probably.” Alex sighed as she hung back and waited.

“Shit, kill it George.” Jorel whispered whenever they came up on the zombie.

“Oh please hurry up,” Abby said softly.

Seeing the zombie, George took the bat and swing, catching the zombie in the side of the head.

Jorel heXed back with them. “It was a zombie...we just need to make sure the door is locked better at night.” He said.

Alex breathed in a sigh of relief but she also agreed with Jorel. “So, Abby, back to that breakfast?” She asked.

Abby nodded, “I was just about to come get everyone because breakfast is ready.”

George put the bat back by the door, “Breakfast sounds great right about now.”

“Oh good.” Jorel smiled and walked into the kitchen with everyone.

Alex sat down beside George and Jordon as Abby started handing out plates.

Abby gave everyone their plates and sat down next to Jorel as she started eating. “There’s enough for seconds, as long as everyone doesn’t go over board,” she mentioned between bites.
