Am I Going Crazy? [closed]

Bodhi watched as the snow fell over the landscape. His eyes on the perimeter of his land. He had it protected by a fence barbed wire decorated the top. It wasn't the strongest but it kept the dead out for the most part he had to do a few checks daily to take out a few random zombies before to many overpowered the fence.

It had been over two years since the world got over run with the living dead. Everyone he knew was either dead or ran off to find the safe zone. He'd stayed behind there was nothing for him out there and besides it was to dangerous out there for his Companion Luna.

Luna dashed across the yard leaving paw prints across the yard. The black and white collie had been with him for over 5 years and she was the last surviving member of his family aside from himself. Suddenly Luna's playfulness disappeared as she crouched down a growl emitting from her throat.

Blood dripped to the ground silently from her arm, it had seeped through the old shirt she'd wrapped around it. "Fuck." Astrid muttered to herself as she put pressure on the wound with her free hand. She had traveled through the woods and tripped over a tree branch and tumbled down a hill her arm had been sliced open by a jagged rock.

She knew she was close to a town and she needed to raid the supplies. Her only hope was that there would be something that would help or she wouldn't make it. "Of course during the end of the world I would die over a stupid tree branch." She grumbled.

Nova walked through the woods with her hand on her weapon. She was hoping to find shelter soon before the sun set. Nova walked until she seen what appeared to be a house that was pretty protected by a fence. She stepped towards the fence, then decided to walk around it to the front. It didn't appear to be abandoned. Nova had been traveling with her family but they were all dead now. The last one that had been with her was her boyfriend and he ended up getting bitten and she had to kill him. She was ready to rest for a bit. She frowned when she noticed a dog growling at her. Clearly someone was staying at this home. Nova looked up, noticing a guy walking towards her. She didn't move, keeping her eyes locked on his. She wanted to make sure he wasn't going to try anything or try to kill her.

Haven tossed some stuff in his bag that Bodhi and him needed. The two of them had met a little bit after the apocalypse started and had been doing pretty well for himself. He preferred to go out and get the supplies because he hated hanging out around the house all the time. Haven frowned when he heard someone else come into the store. He held his bat that was wrapped in barbed wire in his hand. He waited until they were close, then stepped out, getting ready to swing. He stopped when he realized it was an injured girl. He stepped back, "What happened to your arm?" He asked. If she was bitten he would be leaving her to die. It was harsh, but he couldn't risk it. He held his bat tightly, "Are you alone?" He asked, scanning the area. He wanted to make sure he wasn't about to have all his shit stolen from him.

His eyes wandered up to the figure Luna was growling at. He held his gun to his side as he slowly approached the girl. There weren't usually people that wandered this far. The only person he came in contact with anymore was Haven. Most other people weren't worth trusting and this girl probably had a group of others.

"How can I help you miss?" Bodhi questioned reaching down to scratch Luna behind the ears. "It's okay Lu calm down."

"Holy fuck." Astrid nearly yelled jumping back. A groan left her lips as she grabbed her arm. "I was running and tripped over a tree root fell down a smallish cliff." She muttered taking a step back as she watched the guy cautiously. "I'm alone. I wasn't but I'm dead wait now." Her eye's wandered away for a moment a flash of anger crossing over her face. Those fucking friends of hers left her on the edge of the cliff they assumed she was now broken there wasn't a way of fixing her arm so she was a waste of supplies and would just slow them down.

Her eyes went back to the man in front of her. "Now are you going to bash my head in with that bat or can I get some shit for my arm?" She question as she thought about what she could do for her possibly broken arm. She hadn't really had much time to look at her arm but she knew she had to stop the bleeding soon. Her vision started getting a little blurry and it was taking a lot more effort to stand straight.

Nova looked at the man in front of her, "You wouldn't happen to know how far the town is from here would you?" She asked him. It was clear that she had been traveling a long time. She didn't want to intrude on his day. Clearly he had a nice set up for himself. She wished she could find something like this so she could just stay in one place. Traveling around was becoming more dangerous and honestly pretty exhausting. "I'm Nova." She said, introducing herself.

Haven frowned at her words, "Sit down." He said. He motioned to the bench nearby. He grabbed some bandages and pulled out his knife, cutting her sleeve so he could look at her arm. "It's not broke." He muttered. He wrapped it after he managed to stop the bleeding. "Are you alone?" He asked her as he shoved the rest of the supplies in his backpack. "You shouldn't be out here alone." He said. Bodhi would kill him for bringing someone else, but she needed help. "Look why don't you come back to my place and rest. Once you are healed up you can get on your way." He said, smiling a little. He wanted to make sure that she didn't die out here because someone decided to let her alone to die.

Bodhi watched Nova carefully. She looked warn and tired. "I'm Bodhi and it's about a four or five hour walk. You won't make it before night and it's not to safe around here at night." He said with a sigh as he walked closer to the gate. He pulled his keys from his pocket with a slight sigh. She wouldn't make it to the town and he didn't want to have her blood on his hands. He should just let her go and Haven wouldn't be to happy you never knew who you could trust. "You can stay here tonight. There's food and water. My friend will be back soon so don't try and kill me." He said as he unlocked the gate.

With a sigh Astrid sat on the bench watching him as he bandaged up his arm. "Yes I'm alone." She muttered in slight annoyance. "I know being alone out here is stupid. Not as stupid as hanging around with the last group."
Her eyes wandered out to the window as she thought about her options. She was weak probably close to bleeding out her only saving grace was her stubbornness but she wouldn't last another night on her own in this condition. "Okay but I leave as soon as I don't feel like I'm gonna face plant." She said with a small chuckle more for herself. "And um... Thanks. I'm Astrid by the way"

Nova was surprised when he opened the gate, "I don't think killing the person that is helping you is a good idea." She said, smiling a little. She walked in and watched as he locked up the gate. His dog came towards her and she stepped back. She wasn't sure what the dog's intentions were since the animal had just growled at her not to long ago. She looked at Bodhi, "Thanks for letting me stay here til morning." She said. She wasn't going to over stay her welcome.

Haven smiled, "You can leave whenever you want." He said. "I'm Haven." He said. He walked with her to his truck and put his things inside. He helped her into the truck, then got in and headed back towards the house. "My friend is also at the house. His name is Bodhi." He explained to her. "He may not be too excited about me bringing home another person." He said, laughing softly. His hand wrapped around the steering wheel as he headed down the road. He was glad that their roads were clear. He heard that most of the highways and city roads were littered with broken down cars and impossible to drive through.

"Well you can never be to sure. " Bodhi said as he locked up the gate. "Luna is friendly. She just warns me when unknown people are around. She thinks she's a guard dog but she's just a fuzzy lover." He said as he patted Luna. "No need to thank me. I'm not sure how Haven will react though so just be prepared for any reaction."

"Alright good to know. Cause the last thing anyone needs is to be held hostage." Astrid said with a dry chuckle. "So how long have you and you friend been holding up together?" She asked as she looked out the windshield running a hand through her hair. It was taking most of her remaining energy to stay awake and she wasn't sure how much longer she could keep it up. She wasn't sure she could trust the guy but she had to have a little hope in humanity still.

Nova smiled, "Hopefully he won't make me leave." She said as she glanced around the area. "How long have you been here?" She asked. It was obvious they had been working on this place for a long time. She walked with him to the porch of the house and sat down with him on the chair. It was nice to not see any infected for once. It actually felt normal. She ran her fingers through her hair, thinking about everyone she had just left behind.

Haven looked at her, "Since everything started. While everyone was kind of running for their lives we decided to build a fortress." He said. He pulled down the long driveway, coming to his home. He parked his car and got out. Haven grabbed his bag, "Oh we do have a dog. She is friendly so don't be worried." He said. He led her to the house, opening the gate, letting her in. He locked it then walked to the porch, surprised to see Bodhi with a girl on the porch. "Well, I guess it was bring a guest day." He said, chuckling. "Bodhi this is Astrid." He said, introducing the two. "Astrid this is Bodhi and that is Luna." He said, pointing to their canine friend. He looked at the girl next to Bohdi, "Who is your friend?" He asked his friend.

"He won't make you leave. We've been here since the whole thing started. It seemed like a better idea to build something to try and keep then out the hightail it and run. This place has been since I was little and I wasn't ready to leave." Bodhi said as he watched Haven's car pull up and watched as a stranger got out of the car. "Hi Astrid. Haven this is Nova. Nova this is Haven." He stated when the two stood in front of them. He looked at Astrid's arm apprehensively. Though he knew Haven wouldn't bring an infected person back home. "What happened to your arm?"

"A dog?" Astrid quested trying not to sound to excited she hadn't seen a dog in awhile. She followed behind Haven holding her arm to her body. "Hey." She murmed waving her good arm slightly. "Oh um.. I fell down a small cliff." She said simply before bending down to pet the dog.
