Breaking the Rules

(Sorry my replied have been slow, has a 12 hour shift as a face character today)

Fitz sighed, he did like Lana but this was never going to work if she acted like such a child, if he was going to date a 16 year old she would need to be mature at least. "Friday?"

Lana smiled. “Okay! I have practice that afternoon but we should be done no later than six.” She said, giving him a smile. She was still excited.

Fitz stopped about a hundred yards short of the school parking lot and looked over at her. "You wanna get out here so people don't know you came with me?" He asked her, more of a direction than a question.

“Sure. I’ll see you in class.” Lana said as she got out and adjusted her skirt before blowing him a kiss and heading off for the school.

(Sorry another face character day, I'm wiped!)

Fitz sighed and pulled his car in to the staff car park. once there he took a minute to compose himself before heading inside

(It’s okay! I was also busy yesterday which isn’t why I never replied lol)

Lana went to her locker and put her things away before heading to Fitz’ class. She was still so excited for Friday.

Fitz sat at his desk a cup of coffee in front of him as he rolled the engagement ring he had given to Lana between his fingers. He missed her already, losing her to somebody else after 6 years was not doing great things to his head. He sighed hearing the first bell ring and began to get the projector set up.

Lana could tell by the look on his face he was still upset about Liza. She wondered what she could do to be there for him, thinking about it the whole time during class.

Since he didn't feel like teaching, Fitz just put a film playing about John Williams' techniques for composing and sat in silence sipping his coffee. his eyes fell on Lana and he sighed. She was a gorgeous girl, but she acted like too much of a child for Fitz to ever take her seriously.

Halfway through the film, there was a knock on the door and everyone looked up as Mr. Williams answered it and it was a police officer, asking to speak to Lana. She knew it was about her dad but got up anyways, and walked over. She looked at Fitz but stepped out in the hall anyways.

He basically told Lana they confronted her father about what he was doing but he denied it so they needed Lana to come down to the station to give a report and take photos of her bruises.

Fitz grew immediately nervous seeing the cops at the door. He nodded giving Lana permission to leave, praying in his head she wouldn't say anything that may incriminate him. his palms grew sweatier with every second she was outside that door.

By the time Lana was done talking to the officer and the principal gave her the Okay to take the rest of the day off, class was over. She went back inside to gather her things and looked at Fitz.

“They went and talked to my dad, he denied everything, so they want me to come down to the station and give my side of the story so they can take photos of the injuries...don’t worry, I didn’t say anything about...last night..” she said.

Fitz nodded gently, moving over towards her and placing a hand on her shoulder sympathetically. Even if he was unsure about her feelings for him, he needed to at least show some compassion in her time of need. "I'm sorry to hear that Lana, let me know how everything goes later on.. If they ask, tell them you're staying with my sister Sarah in Millwall, it's about a 15 minute drive and she's approved for Authoritative Care" he told her gently, helping pick up some of her books.

“Thanks..” Lana said. She nodded and waved at him before walking away. She followed the officer out to the car and got in. She was nervous the whole way, wondering if they would believe her or not.

Once there, they took her inside and interrogated her for close to four hours. By the time they were done, she was a crying mess and the lady photographer came in to take pictures of her injuries.

“Your father is coming to pick you up.” The officer told her once they were done and Lana’s heart sank to her stomach.

Fitz went straight home after school, when he got there he found Liza and her friend packing her things in to boxes. "What the fuck are you doing?" he asked, throwing his keys on to the table. he began pulling things out of the boxes and explaining how they were actually his, his face growing redder with anger by the second.

"Fitz I'm sorry, I thought you wouldn't be home for another hour or two.." she pleaded with him. Upset, he took a seat on the sofa, choosing to ignore her as she packed up the remainder of her things, pouring himself a glass of scotch.

Lana’s heart was beating out of her chest as her father pulled up to the station. He didn’t say anything to her, just thanked the officer and led her out to the car.

She was terrified the whole ride home and she knew once she was inside the house, he’d unleash on her.

She wasn’t surprised that as soon as they were behind closed doors, her father started hitting her, calling her names and screaming that she almost got him locked up for life since she had to run her mouth.

She finally managed to get away whenever someone rang the doorbell and she slipped upstairs and to her room, locking the door and placing a chair in front of it.

Fitz waited until Liza left, refusing to move from the sofa. As she pulled the door closed behind her, Fitz fired the empty glass in his hand across the room, his head falling in to his hands as he sobbed. Feeling lonely and upset he checked his phone, not having heard from Lana.

(Sorry for disappearing again! Been crazy week at work)

Lana looked at her phone when she saw the text from Fitz. She quickly texted him back.

“They released me to my father..”

She sat down on the bed and looked at herself in the mirror.

(That's okay, me too!)

Fitz sighed as he read her message. "Can you get out? I'll pay for a cab for you... I've had a drink I can't come pick you up" He replied, his phone shaking in his hand. He couldn't believe they had let her back in to the care of her father.

“Yes...I can get out.” Lana sent back. She got up and began packing a bag. She grabbed all of her clothes that she could fit in her duffle bag, along with some extra shoes and got a smaller bag for her toiletries. She hoped Fitz would just let her stay with him this time.
