Kaylin laughed softly as she finished her food, “Next time, I’ll skip the carrots.” She smiled as she drank her water.

Ryker chuckled, "She does not like cooked carrots but she will eat them fresh." He explained to her.

“Got it, I’ll keep that in mind,” Kaylin smiled as she gathered the dirty dishes and started washing them. Once the dishes were done, she checked the time on her phone and sighed, “I’ll see you both tomorrow then.”

Ryker smiled at her, "Alright. Thank you for helping me today." He said. He walked her to the door, "i will see you tomorrow." He said.

“It’s no problem at all,” Kaylin told him, smiling before she walked out to her car. She went home and got herself ready for bed.

The next morning Ryker sat in the kitchen, eating his breakfast. He took a sip of his coffee as he looked at the paperwork.

The next morning, Kaylin woke up and got ready before heading to Ryker’s. She stopped at a bakery on her way and picked up a few muffins and a coffee. Once she got to Ryker’s, she knocked before opening the door, “Good morning.”

Ryker looked over as Kaylin walked in. "Good morning." He said. He finished his coffee and poured himself more. "I really want to go back to bed." He said, laughing a little.

Kaylin laughed softly as she put the bag of muffins on the counter and looked at him, “I bet.” She took a muffin out and took a bite, “Its almost too early to function.”

Ryker nodded, "Yea i debated not going today, but i think i have to." He said. He sat down again and took a sip of his coffee.

“Yeah, that’s true,” Kaylin said as she drank some of her coffee and sat down.

Ryker nodded, "Mina is still upstairs." He told her. He looked over as his daughter came down the stairs, looking like she didnt feel well. He got off his chair and moved over to her. "What's wrong sweetie?" He asked.

Mina pouted, "I dont feel good." She mumbled as she hugged her dad.

Ryker hugged her then felt her head, noticing she had a fever. "You need to go back to bed Mina." He said He was startled when she suddenly got sick on him. He pulled away slowly hearing hee cry. "Its okay." He said as he took his shirt off. He set it down then picked her up and looked at Kaylin, "Can you put that in the washer and grab me some water." He said as he carried Mina back to her room. He sat her down and got her changed out of her soiled clothes. He got her dressed and laid her in bed. "Stay here. I will get your medicine. " He said. He went to his room and pulled on a clean shirt and grabbed the medicine to bring hee fever down. He came back, finding Kaylin in there with Mina.

Kaylin was surprised when Mina came down the stairs and even more so when she got sick on Ryker. She took his shirt and put it in the wash before getting some water and a few saltine crackers. Kaylin took them up to Mina, “Here sweetie, this will help your stomach. The crackers will help settle your belly.”

She knelt down by the bed as Mina sipped the water. Kaylin didn’t like seeing Mina sick and she knew Ryker would feel bad about going to work.

Ryker sat on the end of the bed and was successful at getting Mina to take her medicine. He watched as she laid back and moved her hair out of her face, watching her close her eyes. "Maybe I should call in." He said, looking at Kaylin.

Kaylin watched Ryker with Mina, she wasn’t surprised to hear him mention calling in. “Do you think you should?” She didn’t want to suggest it, and she didn’t know what would happen if he did have to call in. “I’m sure it would make Mina feel better, but I’d hate for it to hurt your job,” Kaylin knew she could handle Mina being sick, but she wasn’t sure if Mina would be okay with her instead of Ryker.

Ryker chuckled, "I will just see if I can get some work done here." He said. He got up and went to his office. He sat down and called his work telling them he was taking a personal day. He returned and smiled at Kaylin, "We are good." He said.

Kaylin nodded, “I’m sure Mina will be glad to know you stayed home with her.” She smiled over at him, “Would you like me to stay? Just to be on the safe side.”

Ryker nodded, "Yes, I would like that." He said. He looked at her, "Lets let her get some sleep." He said as he got up. He walked out and let the door open a little.

Kaylin followed Ryker out, “I’ll be in the kitchen if you need anything.” She gave him a small smile before making her way downstairs. Once she reached the kitchen, Kaylin cleaned up the little bit of puke that had made it to the floor. She then started to tidy up around the kitchen, putting a load of dishes in the dishwasher before she drank some more of her coffee.

Ryker leaned against the doorframe and watched Mina sleep. He walked downstairs after a bit and found Kaylin. "Thanks for helping out. I am glad you are here." He said as he moved close to her and ran his fingers through her hair.
