Freya fell into his arms once he came out from under her dress, resting her head against his shoulder with a small sigh as she caught her breath. "I'm glad you came to the ball, Rowan.. I'm glad to have been able to spend these last few days with you, especially if I'm going to marry that awful prince.." she murmured softly, closing her eyes contently.

Rowan smiled softly and held her up. He looked into her eyes, "well hopefully, I can speak with your father later, and convince him to postpone the wedding at least, and maybe we'll have some more days together,' he said lightly. He kissed her lightly.

Freya returned the kiss, smiling sadly against his lips as she gazed up at him, admiring how the moonlight illuminated his features. "I wish we could have forever together.. But that seems to be asking for too much."

Rowan chuckled lightly, "well I want that too, but one step at a time for now," he said softly. He lifted her onto her feet, "You should get back to your father, I'll meet with him soon," he said softly.

Freya nodded, pressing one more kiss to his cheek before heading back to the ballroom. While she waited for Rowan to finish speaking with her father she wandered around the room, gratefully accepting a glass of wine from one of the servants, although after just a small sip she realized something was very wrong, and before she could say anything or cry out she collapsed, falling into the arms of a nearby nobleman, who quickly shouted for help. "Help! Help! The princess has been poisoned!"

Rowan had made his way to the King, and was about to tell him about the plot to kill the princess, being orchestrated by his ally. He looked up hearing the yelling, and ran over. He pushed the guards away from the princess.

He looked her over, checking her pupils, and her mouth. Attempting to identify the poison, once he knew what it was he knew he could save her. It would just require him to reveal who he was, right here in front of the king.

Freya opened her eyes weakly after a few moments, fingers weakly gripping Rowan's shirt. "D-Don't..." she warned weakly, voice barely above a whisper, knowing that if he were discovered now he'd never be able to escape, and even if he managed to save her, she wasn't sure if she'd be able to save him from her father.

The King rushed over, eyes growing wide at the sight of his daughter. "Who has done this?!" He demanded, obviously furious and scared.

Rowan looked down at her, seeing her growing weaker. He looked into her eyes, "I have to," he mouthed to her quietly. He turned to the King, "Like I was saying I heard a rumor, that it was King Micheal that wanted her dead," he said lightly.

He looked around the room, briefly. He moved to pick up Freya, and looked her father dead in the eye, "If you want her to live, have your guards clear me a path out of here," he said calmly, as he pulled off his fancy dress, revealing his leather armor, and a few weapons.

The King frowned, about to protest, but seeing the state of his daughter nodded, ordering the guards to clear a path. Freya lay limp in his arms when he picked her up, skin deathly pale and clammy.

Rowen held her in his arms, and carried her out of the ball. He kept moving, carrying her at a hurried pace towards his home in the bad side of town. He turned back looking at the king for a moment, wondering whether he'd figured out who he really was yet.

He kicked open his door, and carried her inside placing her on his table. He moved into one of the side rooms and began rifling through bottles, and pouches.

The King watched him go with his daughter, sending guards to follow them, worried about the safety of his only child.

Freya began to cough and gasp for air after he set her down, fingers gripping the fabric of her dress tightly to deal with the pain, tears steaming down her cheeks. She was terrified, afraid she'd never be able to tell Rowan how much he meant to her before.

Rowan worked away making an antidote for the poison, Freya had ingested. He rushed back to her side, and took her hand. He looked down at her, with a small goblet in his hand.

"Princess, please drink this," he said softly, putting it to her lips. "I know it tastes rancid, but you have to drink it all," he said lightly. He looked over at the guards, and sighed softly, looking back at her, "I guess I'll have to find a new place now," he teased.

Freya coughed weakly, forcing herself to drink the potion, scrunching up her nose at the taste, although once she had drunk it she began to feel much better, finally able to catch her breath.

She looked up at Rowan with tired eyes, smiling weakly as she reached for his hand. "Th-Thank you.."

Rowan helped her drink the concoction. He stood over her, making sure it worked. He took her hand in his. "Of course princess, I couldn't you die, they'd all blame me," he said softly. He motioned over to the guards to let her know of their presence.

He smiled softly, "try to sit up, because I suppose I have a date with your father, to attempt to explain all this," he said softly. He looked at the guards, upset at himself for breaking his own rules. He was really in a bad place now.

Freya nodded weakly, trying to sit up, although she had to lay back down. "I can't.. I'm too tired.." she murmured weakly, frowning up at him. "He wont be mad.. you saved me.."

Rowan smiled gently at her, "I don't know, what drives your father Princess," he said lightly. He turned to one of the Guards, "could you go inform the King, the princess will be fine, and we'll make our way over to the castle when she's feeling up to it," he said lightly.

The guard nodded, hurrying off to inform her father of the news.

Freya looked up at him tiredly, sighing weakly as she closed her eyes. "Everything hurts.."

Rowan nodded softly, and smiled at her, "It will for a couple of days, but it too will pass," he said softly. He held her hand lightly. "Rest for awhile, then we'll go see your father,' he said.

Freya nodded a little, squeezing his hand slightly before she drifted off to sleep, glad to have the time to rest.

She woke a few hours later, still feeling awful, but well enough to return to the palace.

Rowan had made his way into the other room, to leave her to rest. He was annoyed that the other guard had stuck around to watch over the Princess, but put up with it.

He heard her rise after a couple hours. He made his way back into the kitchen, "How are you feeling now?" he asked.
