Cassia looked at Bernadette as she opened the door a crack. She felt bad for her. She knew Thibault would be unconsolable if someone had tried to kill her. She held Thibault's hand, simply there as a support and a buffer for the two siblings. She was not going to let them ruin this again. When Thibault sounded like he finished she cleared her throat and looked up at him nodding that he needed to continue. It wasn't just her bond he had threatened. He needed to tell them that they could stay as well.

Walter came up behind Bernadette and leaned down whispering in her ear. "If you're not letting him in here you have to give him a chance to talk to us, tell him where you feel safe talking and when." He whispered his hand on her back. "I promised you that you would not lose your brother over this and I meant it." he whispered only for her ears. He eyes met Cassia's who frowned at the bruises on his neck. "Besides Cassia still needs our help." He said and then looked at Thibault his face unreadable. "She needs practice." he said determined that Thibault knew he was not giving up on helping Cassia with magic. "We can discuss all this together but it is her choice ultimately." He saw Cassia hold up a hand and he nodded stepping back sitting back in a chair again pretty tired.

Zane rolled do he was facing her. "Rose... you don't need to apologize about everything." he said and kissed her head. "I am sure you and the baby will wake me up often enough. I am not worried about that." he said and ran his fingers over her body. He missed her body like he couldn't explain. "You are not foolish to want the baby and want to enjoy this." he said and caressed her cheek. "Sleep now you need the rest." he said and snuggled into him. Zane wrapped his arms around her and held her close to him again.

Thibault frowned as Cassia squeezed his hand, knowing he needed to continue. "I'm sorry.. please, don't go yet. You're welcome to stay here and.. and train Cassia, continue to teach her." He was clearly nervous about the whole thing, especially with how angry his sister looked.

Bernadette tensed a little when she felt Walter behind her, panicking a bit as she quickly tried to think of a way to keep him safe if Thibault decided to lash out in that moment. She frowned as she listened to the two men, but when Walter sank into his chair again she turned her attention away from Thibault to look at her bond worriedly. After a moment she turned back to her brother, looking at him worriedly. "Alright.. We'll speak to Cassia about her training when Walter is well again. Goodnight." She stated simply before slamming the door in her brother's face, hurrying to kneel at Walter's side, wanting to make sure that he was ok.

Thibault sighed as the door slammed in his face, squeezing Cassia's hand tightly before turning to lead her back to their room. "That went well.."

Rosemarie curled into his arms as he pulled her close, giving a little nod of her head as he spoke. She still felt guilty, like she needed to apologize, but he was right. She needed to try to sleep. With a tired sigh she tugged the blankets closer around her before she finally managed to drift off to sleep again, fingers gripping her bond's shirt tightly in her sleep.

Cassia turned when the door closed. She smiled softly as they headed back to their room. "But it did go well Thibault. She is giving you a chance. Tentative yes but can you blame her?" she asked him and pulled him into their room. She turned to him and pushed her hands up his chest. "I am proud of you Thibault. I know it's not easy for you to let me do magic." she said and looked up at him. She ran her hand up his neck and into the back of his hair. "Things are going to be different this time." she whispered. "But you have to start telling me the truth about things. Including that witch..." she said. She still didn't even know her name. "Are you thirsty?" she asked him worriedly. It had been a couple days since they had been together and she knew she was his best source of food. She was tired but she would make sure he was taken care of first before they slept.

Walter sighed as Bernadette knelt at his side. "Bee I am fine." his voice was thick. "Just tired." he said and kissed her head. "Tomorrow we need to have lunch with them and talk about what we are going to do." he said knowing it would make everyone feel better to get it all out and to plan what would happen next.

Zane grinned and felt her fall asleep. Only then could he fall asleep as well. The next day they were pushing the light to go meet with the council member about taking Rosemarie home. He had left Rosemarie behind and it was just him and Celtin talking with the council member. It was nearly dawn the rays starting to rise when Zane came back yawning as he came into the room. "We go home tomorrow. Celtin will join us." he said and smiled. He wasn't sure what Celtin had told the council member to convince him to let them all go but it had worked. He looked at Rosemarie wondering if she would be happy to be going home.

Thibault pulled her securely into his arms once they were safely in their room, bowing his head to rest his forehead against her shoulder, simply holding her close. He'd missed her so much, and had been so scared that he'd nearly lost her. He shook his head a little when she asked if he was thirsty, holding her a bit tighter in case she tried to pull away, just wanting to hold her. "No, I'm fine... I just missed you, is all." He murmured, peppering a few kisses along her jaw before pulling back to look at her tiredly.

"You're not fine, Walter. He tried to kill you. You can hardly speak, and you look awful." Bernadette frowned, reaching up to gently rub her fingers through his hair, trying to soothe him. "I'm not letting you anywhere near him, Walter. I won't risk losing you." She stood, shaking her head as she paced around the room, double checking that the door was locked, not like it would stop her brother if he really wanted to get in.

Rosemarie had woken up late and spent the day pacing around the room and packing up their suitcases, even though it wasn't certain that they'd be going home. By the time he returned she had just finished eating dinner, having stayed up to wait for him, but she was clearly exhausted. She smiled when he told her the news, wrapping her arms around him tightly as she pressed a loving kiss to his lips. "I'll have to thank him tomorrow when I see him. Do you think Celtin will like it at our house? It is near the beach, which he might like, but it's hard to know..." She was practically falling asleep in his arms as she spoke to him, her heard resting comfortably against his chest. "I miss home. We'll have to find a doctor when we get there though.. I'd prefer a woman, and I think it would be best if she were a witch... I don't think a human doctor would know what to do with a vampire baby."

Cassia bit her lip. "I missed you too Thibault." she said and hummed with delight and desire as he kissed her jawline. He pulled back and she looked up at him He looked tired and she cupped his cheek. "Let's get ready for bed and get some sleep." she said and rubbed his chest lightly. Cassia knew they both needed the rest and tomorrow they could talk more about the witch that broke his heart and what she could do to ease his fears.

Walter sighed. He kissed her sweetly. "Bernadette I will not hide and cower from our brother. I will be safe and stay with either you or Cassia in his presence." Walter pulled her into his arms after she locked the door. He kissed her head and stroked her hair. "He won't try to hurt me again. He has no reason to. Whatever Cassia said has convinced him that she needs to know magic even if he is uncomfortable with it." he said and looked down at her stroking her hair.

Zane grinned and nodded. "I know." he said as she talked about doctors. "We will look into it." he said and rubbed the back of his neck. "I don't think a witch will really know what to do with a vampire baby either but at least they won't try to stake me or cast the devil out of you." He half joked. Zane grinned as he ran his hand through her hair as he held her to him. "Celtin will like our place and since the beach isn't to far away he will probably spend the most time there in the water." he chuckled. "Unless you tell him you need something." he grinned softly at her.

Thibault held her close, nuzzling his nose against her neck as he tugged her close, nodding a little when she suggested that they go to bed. "Alright.." he murmured, reluctantly releasing her so that he could change out of his work clothes and into his pajamas, sliding into bed with a happy sigh, glad to be home. He held his arms open to Cassia once she was done changing, happily pulling her into his arms as he tucked the blankets around them both, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "I love you, Cassia. I've missed you so much."

Bernadette wrapped her arms around him tightly when he pulled her I to his arms, tucking her face into the crook of his neck. "I can't lose you, Walter.. I can't..." She whispered, fingers gripping his shirt tightly, as if he'd disappear if she weren't careful. "I just can't.." she breathed, trembling a little as she held him.

"A human doctor wouldn't know what to do with a human baby. Maybe a witch would have come across something like this before? Or at least have read about it." Rosemarie pointed out, snuggling into his arms as he ran his fingers through her hair. She giggled a little when he said that Celtin would spend all his time in the water, nuzzling her nose against his cheek. "Then he'd be all pruney. I want to help him find someone to spend time with. He deserves to be happy."

When Cassia came out from changing she moved into the bed with Thibault and wrapped her arms around him. "I love you too Thibault. I love you so much." she said and leaned into his touch. "And I missed you too, deeply. Never doubt that." she said and ran her hands down his chest. She found his lips and kissed him deeply. She needed him to know she was still his, still the same her just that she knew magic now.

Walter nodded and held her tightly to him. "I know Bee and today was really scary for you." He said. He wanted to train Cassia to do something selfish tomorrow. He would ask first both her and Thibault if they would gift Bernadette this. It would calm her to see his energy come back and who that would be. It would give her a project once he did pass from old age or whatever came.

Zane kissed her head. "I doubt it Cassia. A child like this is rare, once in 10,000 years maybe if luck is on the right side." he said and smiled hearing her giggle. He missed her happiness and he wanted more of it. Zane smirked. "You want to help Celtin find a bond?" he asked her and ran his hand soothingly through her hair. He was quiet a moment. "I don't know if you introducing him to potentials will produce many results." he said grinning sadly knowing just what would happen if he allowed it. The problem was that double bonds where just as rare as a vampire baby and the risks just as high. Zane was not willing to risk it.

Thibault cupped her cheek gently in his hand as he returned her kiss, keeping his other arm wrapped securely around her waist to keep her close. He never wanted to be without her again, even though it had only been a few days. "I know, my love." He murmured, kissing her again before pulling the blankets around them, making sure that she was comfortable as he brushed his fingers through her hair. "Let's get some sleep.."

Bernadette swallowed the lump in her throat, struggling to stay calm even as Walter held her and reassured her. "Can.. Can we go to bed now?" She asked softly, exhausted after a long day of training and from being scared of losing her bond.

"You never know. They could have a book that talks about it or something." She pointed out, pressing a kiss to his cheek as he ran his fingers through her hair. She looked up at him as he talked about it being hard to find Celtin a bond, scrunching up her nose. "He deserves it though, Zane. I want him to be happy, and if I can help him find someone then I want to. Even if he doesn't find a bond, maybe at least he'll make some friends."

Cassia smiled softly as she leaned into him. "Okay but only because you will be here when I wake." she said and closed her eyes. It wasn't long before she fell asleep. She snuggled closer to Thibault as she slept refusing to let go of him. She ran her hand up his shirt so it rested on his lower abs as she slept feeling the breath from him and the feel of him that soothed her.

Walter scooped Bernadette up and took her to the bed. He laid her down and stripped off joining her in the bed pulling her to him. He closed his eyes and sighed. "It's going to be okay Bernadette." he whispered to her.

Zane chuckled. "Maybe." he said and kissed her head. "I know he deserves it Rosemarie. I am just saying..." he shook his head. "Nevermind. You do what you feel." he said and chuckled. He kissed her sweetly. "Now it's time to sleep. We will talk more in the morning." he said and kissed her head. "Come now." he opened his arms for her to snuggle into him.

Thibault fell asleep shortly after Cassia, feeling at ease with her in his arms. It'd been hard for him to be away from her, especially at night, and he was relieved to have her sleeping at his side again. He slept soundly for the first night in days, his arms wrapped around his bond securely, and when he woke he nuzzled his nose into her hair, keeping her pulled close. "Morning, love.." he murmured, keeping her pulled close.

Bernadette clung to him as he carried her, slipping out of her dirty clothes and into a clean nightgown while he changed, curling into his arms once he laid down next to her. She let out a shaky sigh as she curled into his arms, nodding a little at his reassurances. "I love you, Walter.." she whispered, closing her eyes as she tried to get to sleep.

Rosemarie pouted a little as he started to say something but then stopped, humming a little against his lips as she kissed him back. "No, what is it? I want to know." She frowned as she moved into his arms, curling into his side as she rested her head comfortably against his shoulder.

Cassia smiled hearing Thibault whisper to her. "Good morning." she whispered back and kissed from the front of his neck slowly up the side nipping and teasing as she wiggled against him. She wanted him to feel her body against his. She had missed him in every way. Cassia lifted her face and her mouth caught his. She moaned softly against his mouth and arched against him. "Thibault."

Walter grinned and whispered to her. "I love you." he closed his eyes and let the exhaustion of the day take over and drag him under. He knew tomorrow was not going to be much easier but at least he would be able to help Cassia resolve some of the issue with Thibault and magic.

Zane chuckled. "Rosemarie you can't possibly be unaware of how much you affect Celtin and myself right?" he asked her wanting to be sure that is he was explaining this that he did it the right way. He really hoped she knew though. It would be to much to have to tell her Celtin would have bonded with her if it wasn't for him, not to mention the strain of having realized that the baby could be his as well. He just hoped he would never lose Rosemarie.

Thibault groaned softly at her teasing, kissing her deeply as his hands ran down her side and pulled her body against his. "My love." He murmured against her lips, kissing her again before trailing kisses along her jaw and neck, wanting her to know how much he loved her and how much he'd missed her.

It took a few hours of listening to Walter's steady breathing and heartbeat before Bernadette managed to fall into a light sleep, her head resting comfortably against his chest. Her grip on him would tighten a bit whenever he stirred, as if afraid he'd leave while she slept, and when she finally woke in the morning she was still exhausted, and wanted to just spend the day in bed with her bond, taking care of him and making sure that he was alright. Cassia and her brother could wait.

Rosemarie blushed brightly as Zane explained and chuckled at her, tucking her face into his chest. "I know... I know how he feels, and I love you both, but you're my bond, Zane. I'll always be yours. But I want to help Celtin find happiness if I can, I just know that there's someone out there for him, even if they're only meant to be his friend." She murmured, running her fingers through his hair. "He doesn't feel like he deserves happiness, but he does, and I just know that if he just gets a little help, he'll be more open-minded and before he knows it he'll find someone who makes him happy."

Cassia moaned as his lips trailed down her neck. "Thibault." She ran her hands into his fingers. "Make love to me." she said and pulled him closer so she was under him. She wanted his touch, his devotion. She needed to know they were still connected. He was her bond and she felt like he was still miles away and she missed him so much. When Walter woke in the morning he looked over to see Bernadette's tired eyes. He frowned and sighed his hand caressing her cheek. "Bee." he sat up watching her react to him move and he tried not to wince at the soreness in his muscles. "Bernadette." he said more sternly. "It's time for you to stop this. You can't drive yourself into a frenzy over something that is already starting to heal." he said and leaned in kissing her softly. "You can't lose sleep over the possibility of losing me. One day it will be unavoidable and I expect you to search for my return." he said. "I will need you." he said.

Zane sighed and nodded. "My Rose and your tender heart." he said and held her to him. "Celtin is at a hard place right now but in 50 maybe a 100 years he will start to feel ready again. Losing a bond is never easy and for Celtin this one hit him harder than any other before her." he said and kissed her sweetly. "But if you want to try then I will not stop you but I have tried to help him before and it did not go well with me trying so it will have to be on your own." he said and smiled at her his hand rubbing her arms. "Deal?" he asked her.

Thibault groaned against her lips at her begging, nodding a little as he moved over her, tugging her nightgown up and positioning himself at her entrance before pushing in slowly after making sure she was ready for him. Bernadette flinched at the stern tone Walter spoke with, sitting up with a frown as she listened to him. She shied away from his kiss as he leaned over, scooting to the other side of the bed. "That's like asking me to love you less, Walter... If that's what you want, I can sleep in another room, and only feed when I absolutely need to, and you can go out and be with whoever you want. I know you know how to break the bond. You know a witch who broke their bond, and I know that she told you how she did it. And it was her being selfish again. If all she did was make him unhappy, the least she could do was give him a way out. After clearing her throat she stood , shaking her head. "You shouldn't be the one leaving. Cassia needs a teacher, and you're the only one who could teach her without wanting to hurt her.. I'll go."

Rosemarie stirred when Zane woke the next morning, getting up with a tired sigh before heading to the bathroom to wash up and get dressed. Once she was ready she ate a quick breakfast before helping Zane gather the last of their things. "Ready, my love?" She asked, pressing a kiss to his cheek.

Cassia frowned as Thibault seemed to be getting ready to go over there and demand what was going on. "Thibault." she purred and when he looked at her she curled her finger for him to come to her. She pulled on his pants pulling him back into the bed. "This is not something you can help with. Most likely we are the cause of their argument." she said and kissed his jaw. "Stay with me..." she nipped his ear. "Come shower with me." she said and wrapped her arms around him. She just wanted to be close to him for as long as possible. She was sure that after they talk about magic that it would be less likely for anything to happen the rest of the night.

Walter watched her and pushed the bag as she finally dropped the tough guy act. He hated to argue, to use these empty threats from both sides. It's important that you take care of yourself, you sleep right and feed when you need and all of those the things." He frowned as she said she hasn't done anything good. "You're afraid you don't deserve me?" He shook his head as she spoke about breaking the bond. "Never." he said and cupped the back of her neck and brought her closer so she was looking into his eyes. "I would never break our bond." He crushed a kiss to her lips. "You deserve happiness Bernadette. "You are kind and good and have been through too much to see your worth. You realize that you truly love your brother even when he is a dick? And you want to help his bond protect not only herself but your brother. That is noble." He stood with her and wrapped her in his arms. "You're not going anywhere, I am not going anywhere." He whispered. Walter looked down at her. "I'm sorry I made you feel like you where feeling to much but you have to take care of yourself and there are some things you have to allow me to risk everything for. Cassia and Thibault are one of them. For them, for you for the witching community it is important that Cassia is trained. But I much rather do it with you." he said and kissed her sweetly. "Can you forgive me? Will you stay?"

When he was sure that everything was in order he nodded. "Ready, let's go home." he said and they walked down to the car. Celtin slipped in beside them putting his backpack between his legs. "Hey ya lovelies." he grinned at them.
