Bad at Love

Hannah was sitting in her bed sighing in frustration, she didn’t know what to do. She had been struggling with her sexuality for a long time abs when she finally came out of the closet it felt like a huge weight had been lifted. She wasn’t locked in her room anymore and most importantly her family was underatanding. She first came out to her best friend Allison, who was the sweetest. However things got a little weird between them and Hannah thought maybe Allison wasn’t quite as opened about this as she thought.

Once Hannah started dating this girl named Jessica things seemed to relax with Alljaon and they were on good terms. At the moment though, Hannah was having. A fight with her girlfriend. She had messaged Allison about it. “I don’t know Allie she seems paranoid, about everything and doesn’t want me to go out with my friends.. you in particular she says we have this unspoken thing... “

Allison was surprised when Hannah told her she was gay but Allie supported her the whole way, until things got weird and they stopped hanging out as much. It was only weird because Allie, who had also came out of the closet shortly before Hannah, had a crush on her best friend but never said anything.

She looked at the message. “That’s weird. Why would she think that?” Allie sent back to Hannah. She was sad that Jessica would even think something was going on between her and Hannah.

Hannah sighed softly, thinking about the moment she cane out to her best friend. Allie has came out of the closet to her a couple months prior to Hannah and maybe that’s why their relationship became strained. Hannah knew it wasn’t the same though, there was something else. They were close still, but there was something that felt different.

Hannah decided to give Allie a call, “it’s been awhile we should hang out. I know things have been a bit weird but I miss you Allie. I’m having girl problems and I need my best friend. Jess is going out of town because she needs space and I’m kind of you know bummed out.”

Allie answered Hannah’s call as soon as she saw her number flash. She smiled as she heard her best friend’s voice. “Sure. I’ll be over within the hour.” She told her before saying goodbye.

She finished with what she was doing prior before collecting her things and making the short drive over to Hannah’s. It had been at least a month, maybe two, since the two of them hung out and Allie couldn’t figure out why she was so nervous.

Hannah sighed softly as she finished getting ready, maybe a night out with her best friend would do her some good. Especially after things with Jessica, things had gotten complicated to say the least.

Hanna walked out when she heard Allie pull up, smiling wide she waved. It has been way too long. Allie was still as pretty as ever. “Allie!!”

“Hannah!” Allie smiled as she ran to hug her best friend. Hannah was beautiful as always. She felt a flood of emotions run through her but she tried to ignore it. “You look awesome as usual.” She giggled.

Hannah wrapped her arms around Allie and grinned from ear to ear, “god I missed you!” She pulled back and smiled widely. “You always look amazing!”

“Thanks.” Allie smiled. “I’ve missed you too. What did you want to do tonight?” She smiled. “Maybe we could check out that new night club?” She offered.

Hannah grinned, “yeah we can do that, so I need to change? Is this too casual?” She asked spinning around. “Drinks sound good though,” she smiled as she fixed her hat.

“You look fine, Hannah.” Allie smiled. “Ready to go?” She asked, seeing the girl nod. “Let’s go.” She smiled and went to her car and waited for Hannah.

Hannah walked over to Allison’s car and waited for the door, “so where are we going?” She asked getting in.

“Well I’m thinking that new night club but first I was going to see if you wanted to go grab some food? I haven’t eaten since this morning.” Allie said.

Hannah nodded, “yeah let’s get you something to eat,
I’m kinda hungry myself.”

Allie smiled and drove to the Chinese place they used to go to all the time in high school. “Hope this is okay?” She said as she parked.

Hannah smiled nodding “this is fine,” Hannah followed Allie inside. “So, are you dating anyone? Some special girl in your life?”

It was a buffet so the girls went to get their food before sitting down. Allie laughed softly at Hannah’s question, “no, uh ever since Sierra and I broke up, I haven’t dated anyone...walking in on her cheating on me really messed me up.” She admitted.

Hannah looked at Allison and rubbed the top of her hand, “I’m sorry, that was fucked up.” Hannah remembered when that happen, she was in the middle of coming home from seeing Jess. “I really hope you find someone you can trust”

Allison smiled a little, letting her fingers touch Hannah’s for a moment, “thanks Hans. So, what’s going on exactly between you and Jess?” She asked before she started eating.
