It was almost the end of her senior year of highschool, she was so ready for graduation especially since she just broke up with her boyfriend who was older that lived in town. Taron glanced up from his phone as Hailey walked into the classroom. Instantly, he could tell that the girl was off but he couldn't put his finger on why. Did she just look different today? There was something about her face but what was it? Maybe she had been crying but he did not know. Though before he could turn back to his phone, Taron noticed that a lot of the others seemed to be staring at her as well. So it wasn't just him then.

Turning his head to the side, he nudged his buddy, Alex and whispered to him. "Why is everyone staring at her?"

Alex glanced back at Taron for a moment before leaning in and whispering back. "She broke up with her boyfriend."

Taron gave him a nod before glancing back down at his phone for a moment. Now that made sense. Everyone loved to gossip about Hailey and her boyfriend, especially since he wasn't even in school with them. Anyone who dated someone older was immediately the center of attention.

Hailey got her homework out to began finishing it, trying to ignore the fact people were looking at her. Even Taron who she has a crush on was staring at her. This was going to be a long day. There were rumors that she was prude but on the other side of it, there were rumors that she gave it up to her ex which was a lie. That was the reason they broke up was because she wouldn't have sex with him. She let out a sigh, hearing them whisper she worked on her homework. She was trying to ignore it but it was hard to concentrate. She finished her homework and then began doodling in her notebook, knowing it was going to be no use to study for an upcoming test.

Taron finished up a couple of things in his notes before glancing back over at Hailey. He didn't really know her that well, but there were a couple things about the situation that he was curious about. Like why they broke up, and why everyone seemed to care so much that she was even with this guy in the first place. Taron glanced over to his friend for a moment, watching him try to finish up his homework for the next class.

After a moment of hesitation, Taron stood up and walked over to Hailey. They were allowed to talk during homeroom as long as they had their homework completed for the day. He slid into the seat next to her, giving the girl a warm smile. "Hi Hailey. How are you?" While the two of them didn't really talk, Taron was one of the friendliest guys in school. It wasn't odd for him to start conversations with everyone.

Hailey continued to doodle in her notebook, blocking out the whispering around her. She then looked up from her notebook once Taron set beside her. “Hey. I’m alright” she said softly with a sweet smile. “How are you?” She then added, not wanting to come off as rude to him. There was a part of her that couldn’t believe Taron was talking to her. Of course she heard that she was pretty but she didn’t believe it. Her green eyes traced over his face.

"I am good, thank you for asking." Taron said as he smiled widely over at her. His fingers tapped against the desk for a moment as he thought about what to say next. "I just wanted to make sure you were. I know it sucks when everyone is staring at you and whispering about things they know nothing about... And it probably doesn't help that you also broke up with your boyfriend this weekend either." Taron shook his head a bit. "People should just learn to mind their own business, you know?"

Hailey smiled at him, listening to him speak. “Yeah” she said softly after he was done speaking. This was hard on her already and rumors didn’t help. “This town runs on gossip unfortunately” she said with a half chuckle. She wondered why he decided to approach her. Of course they talked before but it was never this personal. Maybe he liked her? The way she liked him?. Taron was handsome and he seemed sweet.

"Eh, not sure it's specific to our town. People are just nosy." Taron said as he shook his head a bit. He leaned back into the chair that he was sitting in. "Though, admittedly, I'm being a little nosy too.. I just wanted to make sure that you're okay." His head turned and he gently looked into her eyes. "Are you okay? I know it can't be easy breaking up and having everyone stare at you."

Hailey nodded. “True” she said softly with a smile. She watched him as she relaxed in her chair. Her smile faded slightly when he asked her if she was okay. “Yeah. I will be okay” she said looking into his eyes. It was clear the guy had messed up badly and broke her heart. “Thank you Taron” she said softly with a sweet smile.

"You will be okay." Taron confirmed for her as he gently patted her shoulder. "I bet you'll even feel a little better tomorrow." He gave her a warm smile as he allowed his arm to drop back down to his side. It was always easy to console someone when it came to a breakup. This was something that happened to everyone and after a little bit of time, she would be back to her usual self. "And you are welcome, Hailey."

Hailey smiled softly. “I hope so” she said. She couldn’t keep her eyes off of him. Taron was handsome and sweet. “Do you think we could hangout sometime?” She then asked softly, needing a distraction.

"Of course." Taron said warmly before he took her pen and paper. He wrote down his cell number for Hailey before giving it back to her. "That is my cell phone. Just message me so I can get your number as well. And you can come sit by me at lunch if you want." Taron told her with a large grin.

Hailey smiled as he watched him. “Okay sounds great” she said as she grabbed the paper and pulled out her phone. She put his number in before texting him.Its hailey[/iI]. “There you have my number now too” she said sweetly.

Looking down at his phone, the message came through and a large smile came over his face. "Perfect." Taron said as he looked back up at her. The bell rang and he looked back at his friend who was now motioning at Taron to head out. "Well, I guess it's time for class now... I'll see you at lunch." With one last smile, Taron turned and headed off to first period.

Hailey smiled at him. “Bye” she said waving before heading to her first period. She was excited all day to have lunch Taron. Once it was lunch time, she went to his locker and waited for him. She wondered if they were going to stay on campus or leave campus for lunch.

Taron had headed to his locker before lunch, pleased to see that Hailey was there waiting for him. "Hello." The man said warmly as he put his items away before closing his locker. He looked over her for a moment before giving Hailey a smile. "Where would you like to have lunch today?"

Hailey smiled as her eyes traced over his features. “Wherever you would like” she said as her smile grew. She wasn’t sure if he wanted to eat here or off campus. She couldn’t help but think about how handsome he was.
