Doctor Maxwell "Maxie" Foster | A Drop On the Window

Charlotte coughed softly as she stared out the window of her hospital room. She’d been couped up in there for days, just rotting away as she laid there in that bed. Charlotte was in the hospital for a heart condition that for some reason no one knew how to fix. This was at least her twelfth hospital she’d been to and already they were having doubts. Some would think that maybe she had a completely different condition that didn’t even involve her heart. She frowned and pushed the up arrow on the side of her hospital bed, grunting a little as she began to sit up. Charlotte looked over towards the door as there was a soft knock, smiling as she saw her nurse for the day. She was a pretty woman, with platinum blonde hair that she kept tied back neatly in a ponytail so it didn’t get in the way. Her petite frame complimented her, but blew Charlotte away with how strong the woman was. She was able to practically carry Charlotte to the bathroom with almost no help.

“How are you feeling today, miss Margeeza?” The small blonde asked, who’s name was Maggie.

Charlotte cleared her throat and grabbed her cup of water from her table, taking a sip of it with all the medication her nurse was handing her. “I’m doing okay. I’m excited to be meeting this new doctor today. Hopefully he can figure out whats wrong with me.”

It was a beautifully fine day outside, and Maxwell was sitting outside eating his breakfast. He'd arrived to work early this morning, to read over the file of a young Charlotte Margeeza, whom had been having a problem with her heart, one that several other doctors hadn't been able to diagnose or treat successfully.

It was an interesting case, and Doctor Foster, being one of the leading heart surgeons in the country was often referred cases like hers. Cases where other Doctor's had no idea what was wrong. He only hoped he could help her out, and make her better.

Maxie finished up his sandwich, and slipped the paper bag into the recycle bin, as he closed her file. He cleaned his hands, before heading up to meet this young woman. He made his way to her ward, and knocked gently before heading into her room, "You must be Ms Margeeza," he greeted as he walked into the room. He was dressed smartly, but as it was still early, he hadn't put on his scrubs yet.

Charlottoe looked up when she heard the door, her heart racing at the sight of her new doctor. She cursed herself and all of the monitors she was hooked up to, adjusting herself in her bed and looking at everything but him as she tried to calm herself down. Charlotte hadn’t been expecting such a young, attractive male doctor. All of the doctors that had been helping her out had been old and “wise”, to say the least. She couldn’t complain about the change of scenery, that’s for sure.

“Yes, Doctor Maxwell I presume?” Charlotte murmured, licking over her dry lips as she folded her hands in her lap. “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you. I hope you can finally figure out what’s wrong with me,” she said with a small, weak laugh. She liked to make jokes, but it really was no joking matter. He was her last hope before she gave up for good. She really needed this, and him to work out for her.

Doctor Foster moved into the room slightly more, "Yes," he said lightly as he moved closer. He smiled at her, "there is nothing wrong with you, just your ticker," he joked back. He looked at the monitor, as it beeped away for a moment.

He could sense she was nervous and worried, a normal thing when plagued with such a serious health concern, and meeting a new doctor. He looked at her, "so I read your file, you've had just about every test done on you," he said softly. He sat next to her bed, "do you mind if I feel your heart?" he asked softly.
