Yongguk looked down at the bowl that had all the ingredients in it in front of him, ‘you know I would never hurt him and he knows that too and I know he’s just scared but it hurts when he thinks I’m going to hit him. I cried because he actually backed away from me once.’

“I know baby...deep down he knows none of us would ever hurt him...I broke down the other day when he thought I was going to hit him...it hurts me, it hurts all of us, seeing him like this...Youngjae doesn’t even playfully hit him anymore like he used to..” Himchan said.

Jongup walked over and hugged Yongguk, feeling himself beginning to cry. He was closer to Zelo than anyone else, with the exception of Youngjae, but Zelo was his best friend and he felt his heart break every time Zelo moved away from him, even when he tries to hug bim.

‘I’m so scared to do anything around him because I don’t want him to think I’ll hurt him. I would never but I don’t want to see him looking at me like he’s scared I’d do anything to hurt him,’ he sniffles.

Yongguk wrapped his arms around Jongup’s waist, laying his head on his shoulder, his own tears starting to trail down his cheeks. He felt like lately he was walking on egg shells around Zelo. He was scared to do a lot of things they used to do. They started to have more distance between them again and that scared Yongguk. He felt this pain before and it’s come back and it hurts. He knows it’s not Zelo’s fault and he’d never blame him. He forgot about the cake batter as he cried into Jongup’s shoulder.

“I know..” Himchan said, as tears trailed down his face. “We just got to keep showing him we won’t hurt him and that we love him.”

Zelo got up in the middle of the night to get a drink. As he walked down the stairs, he heard Yongguk and Jongup were crying and talking softly.

“Hyungs? What’s wrong?” Zelo asked.

Daehyun just buried himself into Himchan, crying.

Himchan pulled him up some and kissed him.

“I know hyung.” Zelo said, looking down.

He kissed him back, his tears still slipping down his cheeks.

‘We’re making you a cake if you want a late birthday cake because it’s getting late.’

“I love you, okay?” Himchan told him, resting his forehead against Daehyun’s.

‘It’s going to take an hour or so to bake.’

“Let’s sleep.” Himchan said.

“That’s okay, I cant sleep anyways.” Zelo said.

Daehyun nodded as he closed his eyes.

Yongguk put the cake into the oven before turning on the timer on his iPhone.

“I’m worried about Youngjae hyung..” Zelo sighed.

‘He’s going to be okay. He can come home tomorrow.’

“I hope so.” Zelo sighed.

‘Do you want to go see him now?’

“Can we?” Zelo askdd.

‘Yes. Jongup do you want to come?’

‘Yes.’

‘I’ll go wake Himchan or Daehyun to finish the cake,’ he said before he headed towards the couple’s room.

Zelo went upstairs to change before coming back downstairs to wait for his boyfriend and Jongup.

Yongguk came back down with Himchan in tow who was carrying Daehyun on his back, who just didn’t want to walk. Jongup was already by the door, wanting to see his boyfriend more than anything.

“Be safe and let us know how he’s doing.” Himchan told them as Yongguk grabbed the keys.
