Charles shoulders sagged in relief when she told him that she had already eaten. It was a relief to him because he had realized that he led her around everywhere after Sebastian had already begun her tour. If she hadn't eaten, he would not have been a very good host at all. He gave her a light grin as he shook his head slowly. "No. I was far more occupied with finding you after my meeting was over," he explained as if it was no big deal because to him, it wasn't at all.
Offering his arm to Arielle, Charles smiled as he turned to lead her out of the library. "Very well. You can bring that book with you and after I've eaten, I'll show you to your chambers. How does that sound?" Charles asked quietly, setting his free hand on top of Arielle's that rested on his arm. It was a gentle touch but it was something he enjoyed because it brought them a bit closer, even despite hardly knowing anything about each other.
"We did just get this wonderful chai tea in from a trade," Charles said as they entered the feast hall. Almost immediately upon him entertaining, a small door in the corner of the room opened and a woman stepped out to ask Charles what he would like prepared. After all, the general dinner time was over so there was nothing to make a proper meal. They would have to start from scratch. Charles cleared his throat as he pulled out the chair beside his, motioning for Arielle to take a seat. "You're more than welcome to have dessert as well, if you'd like. A few biscuits with your tea or something.." he trailed off, taking his seat beside Arielle before he turned toward the servant to ask for some sort of chicken dish.
