Caroline started to open a box and pull out folded clothes to put away in her dresser, ‘This was unexpected. I don’t hate it here but it was unexpected. I miss my friends, my old school and old teachers but I undwrstand my mother had a better opportunity here then in mystic falls.’

“You couldn’t stay with your father?” Somi asked as she started helping her. “I’m sorry, that was rude of me to ask, I wasn’t trying to be..” she quickly said as she looked down.

‘No it wasn’t. You’re okay. Don’t worry about it and no I couldn’t stay with my father because it’s just me and my mom. My dad passed away,’ her heart clenched when she mentioned that and tears started to pool in her eyes.

Somi felt even worse now. “Oh...I’m sorry, Caroline...I didn’t know...if I did, I wouldn’t have asked.” She said, touching the blonde’s shoulder in a comforting manner.

‘It’s okay. Like you said, you didn’t know,’ she told her as she wiped away the tears that spilled down and that threatened to spill down her cheeks.

“I don’t know what you’re going through but my dad isn’t in my life anymore either. That’s why my mom and I moved here. He cheated on her with his young receptionist from his job.” Somi said.

‘I’m sorry Somi. That’s horrible. I don’t know you’re mom but she didn’t deserve that and neither did you. He doesn’t deserve you two.’

“Thank you. She tried to make it work but he fell out of love, as she told me on the way here.” Somi sighed.

‘Well you have you’re mom and you have me now. I’m you’re new best friend,’ she gave her a smile, trying to cheer her up.

Somi smiled, “same to you.” She said and hugged her.

Caroline hugged her back. She laid her head on Somi’s shoulder and held the other girl close to her body, ‘thankyou Somi.’

“Of course...I guess we’re pretty close after today anyway.” Somi giggled softly as she rubbed Caroline’s back.

Caroline giggled too, ‘I guess we are,’ she told her without letting go of her. They stayed like that for awhile longer before they let go of each other. Caroline turned back to her boxes and took out the remaining clothing in the boxes on her bed to either hang them up in the closet or fold them and put them in her dresser.

“Where do you want me to these?” Somi asked as she held up a box of pictures.

‘Those I was going to decorate my dresser and night stand with. Can you take the box of movies and cd’s and put them in the dvd/cd holder?’

Somi nodded and grabbed the box she had labeled cds and dvds and began putting them up for her.

Once Caroline put her clothes away, she moved on to the pictures. She put pictures and notes all around her mirror and on the top of the dresser before putting the rest of them on her nightstand.

“How does this look?” Somi asked as she stepped back so Caroline could see.

Somi smiled, “you’re welcome.” She said as her stomach growled. “Are you hungry?”
