Henry felt anger consume him all over again as he heard her question, already growing impatient on top of it. If Henry would've just calmed down, took just a moment to think before snapping at her, he would've seen the request was innocent. But all he heard was that she wanted to speak to that alpha, her manager. "Oh, wanna say goodbye to your boyfriend?" Henry gnashed his teeth at her, almost ripping the door off of the frame as he opened it. "No, you're not calling anyone."
His hands were trembling, but yet he found the restraint to keep them to himself. He motioned for Taylor to lead the way out of the apartment, following behind her as he closed the door. There was no need for Taylor to call anyone, to say goodbye to anyone from this life she had been leading. Part of him worried that she would try to drop hints about how he had found her, what if her co-workers knew she was running from an alpha? No, he wouldn't give her permission to speak to anyone.
Outside of the apartment, his jeep sat parked at the end of the lot. Hurrying Taylor towards it, he took her bag from her shoulder, almost ripping it from her hand by the way she was clinging to it. Throwing it over his own shoulder, he opened the passenger side door for her, watching how she hesitated. "Get in." A deep growl was building in the back of his throat. It would take Henry a bit of time to get over the sting of his betrayal. It wouldn't just be something he forgot about overnight. Once she was in, he shut the door and tossed her bag into the back before climbing into the driver's side. There was a lot of road ahead of them.
"What did you think you were doing, Taylor?" He growled, looking over at her once they were on the interstate. "Did you really think you could hide from me?"
